Actually one of my friend was the one who recommended this restaurant to me. I ordered steamed pork dumpling and crispy chicken on rice. The dumplings are delicious, they were soft and steamy with the soup inside which makes it even more tasty. The pork in each dumplings are a lot šš» the chicken skin were crispy and the meat are very soft, it has some sauce that makes the dish delightful
I've never thought to go here but the menu looked good from the window and I was pleasantly surprised. A well priced menu with some delicious flavours.
The waiters were very friendly and the food was full of flavour. We enjoyed the chili wonton and the dumplings.
My go to dumpling place in Clayton! Much cleaner than their next door neighbour with better service too. love their fried pork dumplings. Would recommend šš»
Went here on Friday night for a dumpling fix. Ordered Fried pork dumpling, Shanghai fried noodle, and Wanton in chilli oil. Service was quick. The dough for the dumplings were thicker than what we usually have but they are chewy and crispy. Fried noodle and wonton are both yummy!
3.5
I know I shouldnāt have been out and about with a nasty flu on board, but it was that time of the week for grocery shopping.
Although my appetite wasnāt at its best, we were already in Clayton so it only made sense to have some lunch before heading home.
Tempted by the picture of the Claypot Lamb Brisket on the window, my partner suggested we give it a go. Why not, it was a chilly day after all.
Settling into our seats, he ordered that straight away with some rice while I browsed the menu. Starting with a Hot And Sour Soup in hopes of pacifying my cold, the spicy and tangy elements couldāve been tweaked up a notch. However, given how I felt that day, it met the brief.
Now Iāll be straight up that my taste buds werenāt fully functional then, so from hereon itāll be purely based on my partnerās feedback.
An absolute ideal winterās dish, the claypot lamb was moreish and hearty with chunks of perfectly cooked brisket and a delicious gravy laced with hints of star anise. We had a side of Stir Fried Seasonal Vegetables to balance out its richness and the rice tied everything together.
For someone who wasnāt feeling that hungry, I knew I was being over ambitious in getting the Soy Duck but it was just too appealing. Despite the fragrance that one normally associates with braised duck falling a little short, it was still pleasant.
True enough, I couldnāt finish my dish. My partner tried helping out only to fail miserably because the brisket had already defeated him by then, so we packed up the remainder to go.
Itās a shame that my flu-ridden buds wouldnāt allow me to enjoy lunch that arvo. At least my partner did and service was lovely.
The vegetarian steamed dumplings and buns were some of the best Iāve tried. They had both greens and shiitake mushrooms! The combination of flavours were delicious!
It is a 4.5. The dumplings are the real Shanghai style ones (with a slightly thicker skin than Hong Kong style ones) and the filling is definitely good, juicy and not fat. They are really substanceus. The smoked fish I had was very nice. The menu is ample and affordable. The service is good and prompt. The atmosphere is light and happy. I will certainly go back and I can recommend it
Best vegetarian dumplings of any dumplings restaurant Iāve tasted. Fried rice full of flavour. Nice, friendly, prompt service. This place may require a bit of a wait on weekends. Well done!!
Visited for first time last night (Saturday ) - 7.30pm - 80% full.
Two of us - we shared 1 x fried beef dumplings, 1 x fried chicken/prawn dumplings, 2 x steamed bbq pork buns. The chilli oil was like watered down soup with hint of chilli - not good enough for an Asian eatery. All other aspects excellent.
Excellent quality and flavour. Price-value equation leans to customer side.
Attentive staff, BYO and licensed, clean, simple surroundings. Go again for sure.
The eel and é±¼é¦čäø are amazing. Friendly staff. Cleanliness might need a little work. é
č““ is actually disappointing as hell. They just fried the standard dumplings with standard dumpling filling (including veg). Everyone knows é
č““ is made with meat only!! Come on now, don't be lazy. Great to try if you're in the area. Word of warning, if you're worried about MSG, stay away. ššš
A popular place for cheap, fuss-free, casual dining in Clayton. Portions were generous and all dishes tasted good, especially the fried rice cake with spinach and pork. Staff were attentive and friendly. Will be back again to try the Shanghai fried noodles.
Best dumplings in Clayton.
Had the pan fried pork and pan fried beef dumplings, and Shanghai fried noodles. They all were great. I recommend the pan fried pork dumplings.
Priced at around $15/dish.
We wanted dim sum so we schlepped all the way out to Clayton ā¦ and it was worth every moment of that journey. I can still smell the delicious chilli out and vinegar on my fingers hours later. We had steamed, pan fried and boiled pork dumplings, cold chilli chicken, braised brisket, spring onion pancakes and chive cakes. We rolled out full and happy and surprisingly had some cash left in our pockets!
The best fried pork dumplings Iāve ever had!! Crispy skin with super juicy and flavourful filling inside. Not to mention itās super cheap. Get in early if youāre going on the weekends cuz this place fills up FAST!
The food came out lightning fast. Cheap and consistently good dumplings. Each dumpling has a generous filling wrapped around a nice thick skin.
No frills service. However, the tables and floors can be a little oily and sticky.
Ordered spring onion pancake, Shanghai noodles, and pan fried pork dumplings. All dishes were delicious!! Average service (but you donāt go there for the service), average atmosphere as the door was broken so it was very cold inside! Will continue to visit pings for the delicious meals.
Quick, cheap, no-frill and the food was surprisingly taste not too bad. This place is one of the more successful restaurant in Clayton judging by its crowdier patronage. The customers are mixed, maybe 60-40, between asians and non-asians.
