It’s my very first time to try Turkish breakfast and I absolutely love it!!! The dish matches well with Turkish tea with a bit of sugar in it.
Interesting little cafe / restaurant one one of the laneways off Sydney Road. It’s busy and with good reason. The food is very good. The gozleme was delicious, the Turkish breakfast was even better. The tea was strong, the staff were friendly and I was happy. I will definitely be back!
Fantastic little place in a lovely lane way. Delicious Turkish home cooking. Awesome gozleme, warm chicken salad, pasta, lamb. Very friendly and generous owners
Ordered the big breakfast for 2 & the sucuk with eggs all the food was great & I enjoyed it. But the Gozleme could of came with a slice of lemon & a carrot dip which I asked for & they gladly gave me them at no cost which was good of them.
The disappointment of this place was that there was no table service despite having table menus. The Asian girl server wasn’t very knowledgeable about the menu & didn’t understand English properly.
A keeper! We came a few months back when it was part of a group activity, and were determined to come back because it was so good. This visit was even better.
Had the vegetarian meals (felafels, salad, pita bread, hommus and yogurt dip), with Turkish coffee, Turkish tea and two Turkish birds nest pastries. Swiftly served, big smiles, generous serving sizes, ultra fresh, full of flavour and texture.
The felafels were freshly fried so a burnished dark brown crisp-crunchy on the outside and moist and hot on the inside. Beautifully & harmoniously flavoured and an interesting change from the usual recipe. I so love felafels when fresh. Salad with a mix of perfectly fresh tender glossy leaves, olives and pickled cucumber - delicious. Hommus smooth and nutty - went beautifully with the pliable pita bread and dabbing my felafel-salad-pita concoction in it. Tea with a bit of sugar - had that elusive well brewed mellow flavour (elusive for me at least). Birds nest pastries were intensely sweet and perfumed , with a clean finish that made them not at all cloying. Coffee came with a little square of Turkish delight too.
As I said - a keeper ! If only this was closer to home for us :-)
Great customer service, the owners always friendly with a smile on his face, food was tip top, highly recommended, great family environment too
An authentic Turkish breakfast experience. We ordered the Turkish breakfast & Menemen, both were just yum and the portions were perfect. We also ordered Turkish tea, which went down a treat. The cafe itself is a small space, however they have a big seating area outside, just wish there was some sort of heating provided for cold winter days. We will definitely be back!
Dropped in for lunch with some workmates and had a sit down meal. For starters, the place is extremely clean. Great menu to select from with plenty of variety. The joys breakfast really hit the spot. Fantastic service and very reasonably priced. Couldn't fault anything. Will return.
I ordered fried eggs with sucuk and it was pretty delicious but the eggs were a bit undercooked for my taste. The tea is great and would totally recommend it. The staff was also friendly.
Great Turkish breakfast, and good value for money. We got the big breakfast and shared it between two. The people who run it are lovely too! Order a Turkish coffee and sit outside.
Delicious food, quick service, a bit on the pricey side however well justified as the quality and quantity were both exceptional. In the photo are the turkish breakfast, big breakfast and a side of sucuklu yumurta. The only complaint I can make is that the person that served us really needs a lesson in customer service. She looked completely disinterested and did not make us feel welcome at all. A smile and some tone in her voice would be great. Other than her everyone else was lovely.
I had a wonderful breakfast at this place. There are many options to choose from and the prices are reasonable. As I sat there eating, I felt like I was in Turkey 🥰 When your meal becomes an experience, you know it's a good meal.
Love this place very popular and food is always great and consistent. Try out there Sigara Borek cigar borek.
The food hear is top notch and really cheap. Heaps of good options so I don't think reckon I'll ever get sick of it. Highly recommend if you're in the area and you want a great brunch spot
Such a homey cafe which makes you feel like your Turkish family is cooking up a meal for you. I ordered the Shakshouka/Menemen and it was fantastic. Paired with Turkish tea, you can’t go wrong. Seating can be a little crammed inside but they do have outdoor seating too.
Definitely the best Turkish restaurant I’ve been to in Melbourne. We drove from Prahran to Coburg to experience Chorba Cafe. Everything was incredible from the traditional decor to the kind and inviting service and nowhere else can top the traditional home-made Turkish food.
Doesn’t matter where you are in Melbourne, if you haven’t been to this place it’s worth every minute of your trip.
Highly recommended!!
Nice, small place to have Turkish breakfast and lunch. They do take bookings but still there could be a bit of wait as the place is small and quite busy. Food was simply yummy.
Delicious breakfast and coffee. Super friendly staffs providing amazing customer service. Will come back again!
