My partner and I recently had our engagement party at the Como Hotel in the Scylla Bay room and it was amazing! The staff looked after us so well, making sure we had everything we needed. They helped with some setting up and also provided us a few things to borrow on the day such as a beautiful wishing well and vases. The food was fantastic! Honestly the best food we've ever had at a function , with a lot of our guests also commenting on how good the food was. The view is also stunning, highly recommend using the room at sunset. Overall, we had such a great time and were really looked after. Thank you so much to the team at the Como Hotel xx
I have always liked Como Hotel. With the refurbished it changed somewhat but now it is a straight forward pub with a reasonable priced bistro. The food is good, not gourmet but defenitively above normal pub food quality.
It is served fairly quickly and the vegetables are cooked nice. The setting is rustic and npthing has been done to try to enhance it other than practical measure.
The personnel was friendly and cordial and where not too busy to not be ablle to stop and take requests.
We enjoyed a relaxing Sunday night at this local pub. They have a great enclosed play area for the kids and even better ... kids eat free on Sundays! The kids meal came with lots of veges. My T-bone steak was perfectly cooked and went down well with a few glasses of GSM. Happy days!
Recommended by a friend. Excellent pub food. Great specials on each day. We had the Tuesday night $16 dinner specials. My barramundi was lovely and the chicken schnitzel was great too. The $10 desserts were amazing! I had the flourless chocolate Mud cake with icecream!!! So filling but so worth it!!! The service is excellent too.
I was here for an event so my review is based on the finger food we had. A great range of delicious canapés including sliders (beef or fried fish), some spicy duck pancakes, haloumi and stir fried vegetable skewered as well as some delicious porchini mushroom Arancini sticks. All was vey tasty, presented nicely and the waitresses were lovely and hospitable. Great venue with a nice atmosphere and view. Packed for a Sunday afternoon. I'd love to be back and try some main meals.
Sadly the restaurant was hit and miss when it came to food. In the end it was predominantly miss and we stopped going. It was such a shame as it is a great location, overlooking Scylla Bay and the Georges River.
What a shame.... A gorgeous hotel with water views - shame that the food wasn't up to scratch! We were so hopeful waiting for our burgers that we'd found a regular spot. The main issue on the burgers is the bread, the buns were dense and stale. Also, the mayo tasted like cheap mayo from a jar and not homemade or even at least good quality mayo. At $16 for a chicken burger this isn't acceptable.
Chips on the other hand were pretty good so will stick to drinks and chips next time.
