I see a Rainbow Baaaaay!
Rainbow Bay is riiiiiight at the very end of Gold Cost and it is quite a famous area all over the world! Yes, this little region is has a famous surf area called Snapper Rocks where every year the Quiksilver and Roxy Pro are held and many professional surfers come to have a little go š¤šāāļø
But hereās a little secret about this area. If you challenge yourself to head up and do a little hiking through the rocks, you will see a historical landmark, the Captain Cook Memorial Lighthouse and the Queensland/New South Wales border! How cool is that! šš„³ yes, I did jump from one side to another like a little child, what did you expect? š

Aaaaaaaand on the very top of Point Danger (awesome name after all that hiking, I know š very appropriate I would say) you find Cafe DāBar!
They certainly are a favourite destination for the neighbourhood and must-see tourist attraction and they have a sister venue, BASKK at Kirra Point, where they usually have events.
The place has not only a downstairs area, with some seats both indoors and outside, but the building itself is a two floor venue where on the top floor you will find a panoramic dining room for a scenic yet chilled and casual dining experience with delicious breakfast and lunch options!
Seriously I want to try the whole menu! And honestly, no matter how beautiful the whole are is, Cafe DāBar is one of those places that I could STAY š ALL š DAY! This place is like a daydream and has THE BEST acai tasting bowl Iāve tried in the area! š
Hereās what we had
- Acai Bowl - available all day, it is like I said one of the best tasting acai bowls I have ever had! You can see that they use REAL acai and not just ice blended with a little of acai and this was a 10/10 bowl! The consistency was just right, taste was outstanding and mouthwatering and the portion was ABSOLUTELY fantastic. The presentation of the whole bowl is also beautiful and they try quite hard to make you impressed, even cutting the strawberries in a special shape! As a friendly recommendation I would not hide/cover them with the other topping of the bowl and actually make them stand out in the bowl! People would definitely find it even more appealing! The choice of toppings was outstanding and very appropriate for the usual and classic acai bowl - banana, strawberries and kiwi - and I really loved the passionfruit touch! They also use a granola that is quite balanced in terms of sweetness and crunchiness and I was completely in love with it. Portion was just right again I would 100% recommend. This bowl is available ALL DAY btw!
- BEC - my friend had a Bacon, Egg & Cheese Roll which looked SO tempting and delicious! The size was great and the bread was moist and appropriately fluffy. It came with good volume taken by melted cheese and 2 eggs on top, followed by a good portion of bacon and a slice of tomato and lettuce on the bottom. It was paired with curly fries of great size again and ideally crunchy with that necessary and outstanding touch of pinched salt. The whole meal looked incredible like I said and my friend loved it.
- Bananarama - a smoothie of banana, cinnamon, greek yoghurt, chia seeds and honey that my friend enjoyed and I wished they actually had it as allergen friendly too for me to try. Looked good in aesthetics and consistency was just perfect.
On a separate note, I was slightly disappointed with the fact that their social media account didnāt even notice my pictures and no signs of appreciation for the shout out I actually did for them, as I utterly loved my experience. I think that from an objective perspective, these days, itās quite important to actually also have a strong social media and engage with other accounts out there, especially if people are saying good things about them.
I understand there are other priorities from a business point of view, but I also believe that a good social media with proper feedback (or any feedback!) to costumers would make it more likely to revisit. Because letās face it, with so much competition these days, if you donāt stand out or give any attention to the people that actually genuinely support you, why would they come back?
Either way, I just see it as something polite to do because as I have said, I would absolutely love to come again and try other meals and even consider visiting their other sister venue BASKK at Kirra Point.
A good little spot! AƧai bowl and coffee were great, but the baked goods we tried that day could be better. Both a little undercooked/ muffin was quite doughy from the fresh strawberries baked in it. Other meals coming out looked good!
I called ahead to book a table but was notified that itās walk ins only. We were able to be seated as a group for what was a busy morning. Our food came out timely and our waitress was friendly.
