Absolutely beautiful! Even on winter, it was still colourful. Such well maintained grounds, and incredible plants. Love how there is a list of plants and numbers on the plants to tell you what they are. The view is incredible and the artefact exhibit is fantastic. Allow a couple of hours to enjoy it at a leisurely pace. Don't miss it if you are in Cowra!
We made the decision to detour via Cowra to specifically see this garden. We were not disappointed. This garden is stunning. It is set over quite a few acres and is beautifully set out and manicured. Very reasonable entry fee. It is also worthwhile to visit the site of the prison camp and the war cemetery to complete the story behind the garden.
I wish I had visited the gardens a lot sooner instead of just driving through Cowra. It is a healthy walk around the grounds which are immaculate, and there are golf carts for hire for those who need them.
The staff are friendly, the walking paths don't have cracks or unevenness, the elevation change gives fantastic views, and the river, lake and waterfalls are tranquil. Take a picnic and relax on the ample grassed areas.
The grounds are quite open, so be careful on really hot days as you'll be in the sun a bit.
