Found this place on google. Was expecting food like every other restaurant that serves similar items and was sooo wrong. The food here is completely of another level. It was all fantastic. The only down side is I couldn’t fit any more in my tummy. I whist wanted to keep eating. The dumplings the spring rolls the honey chicken the deserts. All unlike any I’ve ever had. I will never go anywhere else now. Service was impeccable fantastic people. Will return soon. I’ve already told my friends to try it.
Amazing food and lovely staff! We usually take away and the food is always ready to go when we come to collect, I hope one day that it moves into a bigger space and has more dining in room, thanks Dumpling De Chef!
Best dumplings I’ve ever had and I’ve had dumplings in multiple countries! Although as of late their Chinese broccoli and oyster sauce hasn’t impressed me in taste like it used to.
I will always eat here for dumplings!
Can you ever say no to super hot and spicy Dumplings!? Not me atleast. I can finish their whole Garlic Chilli Oil. On a suggestion, in a different container mix Garlic chilli Oil with Vinegar sauce on the ratio of 3:1 trust me thats heaven.. only if you are a spice lover. Staff is just so happy. I cannot stop praising about their juicy Dumplings and Deep Fried Squid Tentacles(suggested by chef) and yasss.. I loved it!! I always prefer to sit outside because of my addiction to spicy food... because that cool breeze work as balance for me to the Hot Food. P.S:: I get to make my food spicy here, else they have mild flavors too.
Dumpling De Chef is probably my go to place for affordable dumplings and Chinese cuisine. Located on the main road it can sometimes be hard to find a parking. The restaurant is small with limited seating and it always seems to be busy. Meals come out very quickly and the staff are delightful.
Great service, great dumplings (sweet and sour pork was also amazing) and overall great local dumpling place! Will definitely be returning here.
Came to this area for work purposes and saw this dumpling place.
The ambience is small but suit my style. The price is affordable as well. So glad that I can still manage to find dumplings in the area.

Our go to for take away dumplings. We've never eaten in as the restaurant is tiny. But don't let that fool you, their dumplings are absolutely delicious and freshly made.

The dumplings were really good and had cheap prices, too (I got 12 dumplings for $13, I haven’t seen prices like that in a long time). The lady at the front desk was incredibly nice to us, and the service was good, especially taking into consideration that there was only one chef available.
The dumplings from this dumpling chef are really delicious! I have been to this shop many times. I love their specialty steamed pork dumplings and pan fried pork dumplings...every time I order frozen dumplings to take home. That’s my favourites shop ! !
I am a Chinese who loves and knows dumplings. I like the dumpling and the seating at DUMPLING de CHEF. If only regional areas have more Chinese restaurants as good as this one, then people in regional area would understand, accept and enjoy Chinese culture much more quickly.
I don't blame locals in regional areas hold some kinda bias towards China and Chinese since I tried Chinese restaurants in the areas of west gippslands.

We ordered a huge order through Uber Eats & when the driver arrived, he canceled the whole order instead of transferring the job to a new driver!
I called the restaurant to see what happened & what we could do to fix it. They informed me that they still have my order & it’s ready to go but there’s no driver. They said they will call Uber Eats first then call me back.
I had another employee call be back & explained that Uber will refund me the first order. While on the phone we made sure to re order correctly & they stayed on the phone until the order came through properly.
When the food arrived we were really happy with the amount we got and that it was all still hot. Both pork & veggie dumplings, vegetarian noodles/rice, sweet & sour pork & lemon chicken was super delicious.
My partner said that the special fried rice really hit the spot!
We even got a special little note saying sorry for the order being stuffed around with a couple drinks which was a nice touch for the uber stuff around, very thoughtful 😊

Small family owned & operated business. Food is very tasty...I had the special fried rice & can say that it is in the top 5 best that I have eaten.
Their dumplings are always awesome.
