First time dining at this restaurant. Had to ask for drinking glasses for the soft drinks we ordered. As it had been a very hot day, it would have been nice to have a cold bottle of water presented at our table; again, we had to ask.
Restaurant acoustics are such that a group of louder diners made it challenging to hear and talk.
Booked for four adults (7:00 pm) and finished our dessert at 8:45 pm. Restaurant was definitely not full. So, the service itself was not that fast.
However, these [minor] negatives aside, the service we did received was very friendly and efficient.
All of the food we ordered was hot and wonderfully delicious. (The honey chicken was that best I have tasted.)
Our usual restaurant in Mooroolbark closed down some time ago and we have found it quite difficult to find a suitable replacement. Fortunately, as a result of our eating experience at Fortune Palace, we have now marked this restaurant down as our new “Go To” place for Chinese dining.
The menu (also available as Takeaway) is quite extensive and reasonably priced. I’m pleased that the pricing is not based on the quality of the foods, if that were the case, I feel they could easy double their charges!
This place is great value for money. My go to place for Chinese food in Croydon. Really good for sit down meal or takeaway. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the variety of food and quality is solid. Give it a try!
Amazing, always fresh and lovely staff! Never had a disappointing meal from this place and we eat here regularly! Staff are always lovely! This is your go to for Chinese in Croydon
Really nice resturant ! Chicken and corn soup and pork belly were nice. Favourite dish would have to be the spicy prawn meal very flavoursome and juicy.
Great food and great service. It was our first visit to this place tonight to grab some takeaway and we will definitely be back. Thanks for the great food.
Good Chinese here and the banquet is filling. Need to go for the $45pp one otherwise you get basic lemon chicken and beef with black bean. Big juicy prawns and complete byo, not just wine only, an advantage.
@Went to Fortune Palace to catch up with friends. Most of us ordered a banquet - which was delicious. Entrees were individually served to each person and an ice bucket was provided to chill our wine. All the mains were tasty and the garlic prawns were delicious. I'm normally not a fan of lemon chicken but it was lovely. Likewise the banana fritters were not greasy and that batter was nice and light. The service was good - staff were friendly and accomodating. Although a bit expensive if you order individual meals, the banquet was certainly good value. Would definitely go back again.
Having read the reviews we decided to give Fortune Palace a try to find that what the majority of reviewers had said was on the money.
The external appearance and internal decor very much leave a lot to be desired. However the food on this occasion was very tasty indeed.
We had the dishes and all the tasted great suffice to say the beef in the one beef dish was a little chewy. But hey. It is reasonably priced, the staff were great and the food very good. Definitely will go back!
Best Chinese food I've had in a long time! Absolutely delicious. My family and I have been getting takeaway from here for quite some time and we are never disappointed. Food is always fresh & tasty. Highly Recommend!
Great restaurant. Food never disappoints and service is excellent. Would highly recommend it to anyone!
