Lovely service from the young man at the counter. We ordered crepes - the Devine which had Nutella, banana and strawberry and the peanut butter one. Both were great however the crepe went hard quite quickly after it had cooled down. The decor is pretty cool, makes you feel as though you’re in an American diner.
Doughbox Diner is located in Brighton Le Sands on Bay street so it's slightly easier for you to find parking - we know how hard parking can be on The Grand Parade. Doughbox Diner began as a simple pizza bar and creperie in 2009 and it's the home of the hand held crepe cone! It's no ordinary crepe cone either (keep scrolling to see why). Doughbox Diner seriously creates a different dining experience, it'll bring you to the classic American Diner vibe. They have an extensive menu which ranges from salads, sides, hotdogs, sandwiches and melts, chicken and waffle, burgers, crepe cones, burger cones, thickshakes, soda floats, hot drinks and a whole range of desserts.
All too easy to be lazy and order from an app so I did! A few taps on the Ubereats app and my delivery was on its way. Fairly quick for dinner to arrive.
Had the Chicken And Waffles as well as Onion Rings. The chicken were strips which made it easy to eat as no bones! The waffles were fluffy in the middle but didn’t have any crunch on the outside so missed that texture. The accompanying honey mustard sauce and syrup were nice but the whipped butter melted on the trip here. Onion rings were nice and crispy and had a lovely batter to it. Nice dipping sauce came with it.

I've been here twice now, and I highly recommend it. I absolutely love the set up and the vibe it gives :) it's a nice treat if you have a guy who loves their burgers!
Halloween is usually one of the most celebrated holidays in the United States. Our visit to an American Restaurant, Doughbox Diner, on Halloween’s day was no different. They had a tombstone at the entrance and a few halloween-inspired dishes. Burgers, crepes and lots of desserts dominated their menu. They also had a few hot dogs and starters.

Four of us popped in to Doughbox Diner for dinner tonight and absolutely loved it. Between us we had three Fats Domino burgers and the Hawaii 5.0 Burger, which were all filled with fresh ingredients, huge AND super tasty + the seasoned fries were delish too. We've got our eyes on the cheese and bacon fries for next time!
There's a great range of Australian and American sodas, but one of us ordered the Choc Mudslide Shake and it was perfect too with cute extras to boot - whipped cream, wafer, sprinkles, a lollipop and cherry on top.
Highly recommended for experiencing a 50's style diner and a great feast. Our waiter tonight was lovely too, which made it an all round fab experience.
Does what it says on the box, American diner faves in a funky Happy Days style fit out. We had the rolled burger, chilli dog and chilli cheese fries, all excellent. We were also eying off the hot wings going to other tables, next time... A shout out to our waitress, she was a delight, helpful caring and humerous. A respecful suggestion, any chance of adding chicken and waffles to the menu?
Shout out to the waiting staff that served me and my friend last night. The service and food here is terrific and reminiscent of a 1950s American style diner. They let me customise my own choice of toppings for pancakes as I told them that I really wanted bananas with Reeses Peanut Butter sauce and maple syrup. The request for them was taken on well and I got fresh fluffy buttermilk pancakes the way I wanted:) They also serve you complementary popcorn upon sitting down. Now where else in Sydney is that even possible?
An adorable 50's-themed diner which has managed to become a stand-out on Enmore, which is quite the feat considering the amount of fantastic dining places on the road! Although small and often busy, I have never waited too long for a table and am yet to leave unimpressed with the friendly and prompt staff.
Now on to the food: the first time I visited, I ordered the 'Some Like it Hot Burger' which came with their fantastic, crunchy fries. Admittedly, I was not the biggest fan of the burger; I found it far too saucy and a little overwhelming. Nevertheless, I left satisfied as the portion sizes truly match up to the prices and I adored the ambience of the place.
However, it was the second time I visited that I was truly impressed. I ordered the classic burger cone which arrived quite promptly and upon the first, heavenly bite realised just why they were known for these babies. Delectably thin, crispy, and mildly sweet, the crepe is a great offset to the saucy American-style burger fillings that I found a little sickening with the bun.
Can't wait to return a third time and try a dessert and one of their famous shakes!
Great place! Limited seating but high turn around of customers, you don't wait long for a table. Staff are very courteous and welcoming. You usually have to order/pay at the counter but we had a group of 6 people (1 of which had to sit at the end of the booth in a chair due to an ailment) so our server offered to take our order and payment at the table. Excellent customer service.
We ordered onion rings for starters - they were great! Super crispy and the sauce they come with is awesome! Has a nice tang to it.
Our mains were the Fats Domino, Beanie Weanie Dog, Hawaii 5-0, a Classic Burger Cone and the What's Wrong McFly?. The burgers were great on all accounts, the Cone had a huge, almost offensive slab of red onion which just doesn't work (it was promptly discarded). I loved my Beanie Weanie Dog. The chilli had a good flavour and the added jalapeños gave a nice kick without being overpowering. 100% would order one again.
The biggest let down were the fries! The seasoning was great but they were overcooked. That's only a small complaint though.
All in all we had a great time and experience, and we will be back.
Great atmosphere really charming. The food was good. Very well presented, well themed and yummy. Was a bit on the pricier side but you're paying for the experience. It was a lot of fun and was also one of the most unhealthy meals I've ever had. Be warned that the servings are plenty generous, we couldn't finish all our food!
There is outdoor seating but if you have a wheelchair or pram you wouldn't be able to sit in the inside area where the booths are. You would miss most of the atmosphere of the place.
We had a peppermint hot choc and plain hot choc. It was so good! Popcorn was served on the side. The staff were super friendly. Love the themed decor.
The place looks funky, in a good way. Good crepes. This is a good place when you want to have something different. It's pretty small though so expect to wait outside when it's busy.
Love the waiters and the kitsch set up- makes me think of Uma Therman and her $5 shake in pulp fiction it just has that funky comfortable vibe about it.
I go here for the American styled soda floats- and sundaes...
On arrival you'll get popcorn- and a friendly welcome.
Great for casual chilled out encounters.
Doughbox has always been (since they first opened) and will remain to be one of my favourite places. If ya doing a Newtown day/night out you have got to come here !
Love the thickshakes at Doughbox Diner. My fav is the strawberry. I find the burgers are just okay. Also nice and friendly service. Bring some cash if you can otherwise there's a small surcharge to pay by card. But the thickshakes... #worthit Mmm... I'll definitely be back here.
Burger was delicious and place had a cool retro vibe. Place is a little small however and service got mixed up and a little slow
