We absolutely loved all the dishes here. The Mongolian beef, spicy salted chicken, lemon chicken, spicy sour prawns and roast pork with plum sauce. Everything was spot on in terms of flavour and texture.
Service was exceptional. Warm, friendly and efficient. Can't really fault this place.
A restaurant with large tables placed with individually folded napkins.
Each dishes is designed with an animal design carved from a carrot.
Deep fried squid - a thin crisp batter with juicy squid, seasoned with chilli, spring onions and shallots.
Duck fried rice- nice and oily and well charred.
Sweet and sour pork - a thin crisp batter drenched in sauce and mixed with thick chunks of veggies and pineapple.
Consistent, decent Chinese which isn't so easy to find in this area! Have eaten in & taken out & both are pleasant experiences. Customer service is always friendly. Don't have any particular recommendations of meals but good ol' westernised favs haven't been overly oily or sweet which is only a good thing!
After reading online reviews decided to try their takeaway as a test. Ordered 1 x large special fried rice, 1 x large steak and tomotoes and 2 x Fried home made dim sims. Could not be happier with serving sizes and quality of ingredients, as it was a phone order their was no waiting on pick up. Recommended if your into Chinese foodđź‘Ť
Authentic Cantonese food. Came here for dinner a few times and can't fault the food. Servings are huge and service is excellent. The menu is a bit suited for the Westerners but there are plenty of dishes to choose from that is good honest Cantonese food. Couldn't taste any msg as I wasn't thirsty afterwards. Will definitely go back
Lunch takeout from Jade Pavilion Chinese restaurant. One word sums up their lemon chicken dish... YUM!!! Don't hesitate to try this Chinese restaurant. Always has lunch specials too🙂 friendly ambiance if dining in.
5 out of 5
Ordered the take-away Dinner Pack 1 for $39 consisting of four large steamed dim sims, sweet and sour pork, chicken and vegetable and fried rice. Steamed dim sims were pretty good but didn't come with soy sauce. The chicken and seasonal vegetables were very bland and the chicken weirdly soft but tasted overall ok. The sweet and sour pork meat was heavily coated in batter. The sauce was very tasty and presented well. The fried rice was fine although a little plain. Often Chinese food makes me thirsty and although it didn't straight away, I did a few hours later. Although pretty bland overall, would still try again and try some different dishes.
The Jade Pavilion impressed us with both service and meals. I took my elderly parents to dinner there and they were welcomed very professionally. Accommodations were made for their needs, including western cutlery and the order of meals presented in the $28 banquet. (We found we couldn't fit in any dessert!). The sculpted garnishes were a lovely, flamboyant touch and the waiter, when I asked, kindly put ours in a container for me to take home to show my son. We'll certainly be back again.
I've always noticed this place but never been In to eat so thought I'd give it a go, definitely was not disappointed. Ordered one of the banquets which was reasonably priced with a decent amount to eat. The soup was absolutely delicious, I'm not normally one to rave about a corn soup but gee wiz this was magnificent, and if the rest of the menu was of this quality I'd be laughing. And... it was. Delicious fresh ingredients and fast friendly service, couldn't ask for more. I'll be back.
Love this place, we are regular visitors, as well as our friends and family, the best Chinese food around, at an extremely reasonable price, we enjoy the banquet. Say hello to Jimmy who is there to greet you as a long lost friend. Separate room for a large crowd also if you are celebrating a birthday or special occasion in a group. Lots of parking, restaurant is opposite Safeway, Ferntree Gully.
First meal out after the “freedom day” announcement from lockdown.
We were looking for some nice Chinese based food and we weren’t disappointed.
On entry, we loved the enthusiasm of the gentlemen that greeted and seated us after checking our vax status.
The venue is a clean and open space with nice Chinese ornaments etc as expected.
The menu is broad with pretty much every flavour you need if chasing a Chinese meal.
We ordered:
Hot sour soup
Chicken and mushroom soup
Half Peking duck (big and not inner city slivers in pancakes)
Combination soft noodle
Meals were delicious, ample and came out quick.
Please note that the duck isn’t little slivers that most would be familiar with and you could almost just have these as your main with a rice.
The combination noodle (soft) are egg/canton noodles and not the wide rice noodles (Ho fan) that you’d mostly know but was loaded with meat, prawn and calamari.
The soups were delicious and the wife and I are still disputing which was the best of the two.
Overall a great experience with efficient and friendly staff. Glad to see the turn over of take away and the max capacity here as we get back to normalcy. We left here happy and full (to the point of bursting).
To the blonde woman at the table of seven, signing in isn’t a new rule and it was pleasing to see the old man let you know no sign in, no cert, no eat! We were glad to see him applying the rules of which we all live under to get back to it and support our local businesses.
Thanks to all of the staff, especially with the help with the “doggy bag” to take away the remaining food. We will definitely be back to try more of your already tasty menu.
Authentic delicious food! Don’t often find little gems like this place. Super friendly staff, that I would like to thank for making our celebration extra special. We will definitely be back!
