The place has been a staple of Fitzroy forever, but with the recent improvements it really feels like a welcoming venue, the staff are friendly, always look like they are having a good time and will go out of their way to help you with whatever issues I had. As for the security, i really feel for as they have to make the hard decisions but they are never unreasonable. Drinks are reasonably priced and the addition of the outside bar and marque makes the beer garden more accessible. I miss the 90's only music on a Friday but am still willing to have a boogie. Overall this is a place that I have many great memories of and would love others to come share them
Empty on a Friday night and I scratch my head and wonder why? This pub has a beer garden, a $7 across most drinks happy hours, and in this instance a great performer in Ezekiel Ox providing a mix of background acoustics and having a play at beat boxing (yes an interesting mix). Yet dead it pretty much was. We drank G&T's and beers filling in time waiting for friends to arrive to go out for dinner. It was a reasonably presented pub internally and externally. Perhaps a little too early for Fitzroy crowds. Perhaps a very different venue later on into the night (as I read some of the other reviews here). Perhaps not in the right spot for after work drinkers.
Not really sure but we enjoyed our quiet drinks with some live acoustic music
I love how there's always an atmosphere at the bar, and guaranteed to be people there.
