We had the mutton kacchi biryani and a chicken biryani. My husband loved the mutton biryani but the chicken biryani was a bit different for me, it was a tad sweet. It wasn't bad but different. Saff chatted with us and made us feel very comfortable. Would definitely go there again.
I took my partner who was from Bangladesh here for his birthday about a month ago, not because this restaurant was anything flash but because he always said there exists no Bangladeshi resturants here in Melbourne when he wants food from his hometown. For the relatively cheap prices, what we got was a decent feed. Our favourite dish being the mutton curry, would definately order this tasty one again in a heart beat. The letdown was the hilsa fish curry, besides having so many tiny bones which we expected from this fish the cut we got was bitter probably because it was close to the gills? The cutlet was already small so we felt this was not worth the money. The marinade wasn't the best either. They were out of a couple of things we wanted to try from the menu when it came to dessert so we just settled for the rice pudding, nothing too special. My partner did mention food was authentic so worth a try if you are keen on Bangladeshi food. If you prefer gentle flavours like me, you might find the flavours full on.
Highly recommended place, delicious food and beautiful people, its close to public transport and cbd, must visit there again, thanks to owner and staff.
