A great place for a homely, healthy lunch if you're in the area. The quiches are pastryless which is a nice change from the bullets that bakeries so often serve, the aranchini balls are super tasty, and the salads are varied and the 'feel good' kinds such as roast vege, pasta and rice. The family run eatery operates in quite a small space so can only cope with a few people at a time. You may have to wait patiently for a bit.
Food: plenty on healthy options here against a street full of burgers and pasties. Soup was pea and ham with some buttered Turkish bread on the side. Not with crappy cheap ham either, off the bone stuff. Packed with flavour, loved it. Friendly service and place nicely decked out. Way better than the 2.9 score it has now. Coming back soon.

Judging from the small number of reviews, Red Roar Cafe on Port Road must be a well-kept secret. This little cafe on the corner of Mary Street is a gem. It has a fresh vibe without the retro - coffee bags framed on the walls and the benches and the window nook gave this place a minimalist feel which was very appealing. All menu choices are on the boards and the freshly prepared salads, quiches, croissants and more were attractively displayed in the cabinet.
The salads we had were tasty and generous sizes at fantastic prices - a good quality coffee and a salad plate for less than $16 was great value for money.
The owner was friendly and obliging and even though she had no help on the day she managed a busy cafe with ease - no waiting, no fuss, no bother. The cafe could seat up to about 25 people and there were nearly that many there with take away customers as well. Great work!
Summary: a healthy options cafe in an easy to find location. If you can't find a park on Port Road turn into Mary Street and drive to the end - plenty of 3 hour parks and you may just stay that long. Food fresh and tasty with generous serving sizes; coffee good quality. There were also smoothies which looked great. Service spot on. Worth a try - yes, I will go back again. Open Monday to Friday 7-4. Give it a try ... and they do catering.
Have been coming here since they opened on day 1. The food is amazing there is nothing that compares in the area, and almost nothing like it anywhere else in Adelaide. The range of freshly made salads, quiche, veggie slice, focaccia, soups, arancini etc make it a must visit lunch destination. The only thing that could be improved is the coffee, its good, but not as good as some of the local competition, however the fantastic food, smoothies and juices combined with some of the best service in Adelaide makes up for it :)
Popped by for a smoothie and and snack at around 2pm and the place had pretty much cleared out all of their lunches! I think that says a fair bit about their popularity! I tried a green smoothie which came with the option of banana or mango as the sweetener and, as with all of their smoothies, you could choose the liquid base: coconut water, almond milk to name a few. While the smoothie wasn't actually thick like I had expected it was fantastic and perfectly refreshing for a warm day. The raw snickers slice I also tried was to die for. You'd never know it was somewhat healthy! The service and staff were friendly and easy going. I can't wait to get back here for lunch soon. Hopefully I dont miss out!
How should I bring my baby in?: Unfortunately there aren't highchairs available here but you could fit in easily with a capsule or even a pram
I like what they've done to this place. Great use of space, it's cute and quirky. Staff are friendly. Food looks great. Treats here are delicious and coffees good, so definitely been here a few times in the arvo for a coffee and treat.
Small shop short walk from entertainment centre and tram stop selling coffee, pre made salads, wraps, foccacia etc. Range of fresh juice, smoothies and a choice of non dairy milks. Also have Acai Bowls which can be made vegan. Staff are friendly.
This is an amazing place to have your meals. I usually go here for my Saturday breakfasts and end up spending 2 hours, enjoying the atmosphere and the service.
The hosts are awesome,making you comfortable straight away and showing real interest to chat with you.
The food is delicious and well presented.
Conveniently located near a children's park, with ample parking spaces around.

Been here a couple times now and every time they have been great! The staff are super friendly, the coffee is good and the food is yummy! Seating out front is nice and shaded and is certainly the pic of where to sit. The menu is an all day breakfast/brunch/lunch selection which I personally enjoy. I love crispy bacon and the bacon is here is nice and thin and comes out perfectly crispy!

Beautifully prepared food and omg the french toast was the most softest delicate fluffyish french toast and oh gosh the poach pear. The others loved the food as well definitely worth a visit
