Omg, the biggest breakfast I’ve ever seen! It does say on the menu it’s Big. The business owner is a very nice gentleman and staff are welcoming.
We had two savoury breakfast come with a nice pancake topped with scrambled eggs, mushrooms, hash brown, grilled tomorrow and herbs. It was tasty and too big for me. Coffee was also good, nice texture and tasted alright. No major issue..
There are lots of interesting things on the wall that can entertain you. Its recommended!

Kunanyi or Mount Wellington provides a beautiful backdrop to the picturesque suburban streets of South Hobart.From dusk through to dawn and back again, the ever-changing mountain face frames the historic houses that line these sleepy streets. We come here at least once a week. The food is great, generous serves and reasonable prices.

This is my absolute favorite place in Hobart! The staff are SO nice and accommodating to any dietary requirements. The food and coffee is delicious, well presented and well priced. Not to mention their loyalty card! Must-go café in Hobart!!
Food would be a 4 rating. Well presented, fresh and well cooked food. The Vegie stack was delicious and the burger was full of flavour, taste and very fresh. 3 or 4 independent times did a waiter or chef manage to drop something loudly!! A minor blemish on a great lunch!

Delicious, healthy and filling!. I have been here a few times and have never been disappointed! The food is really yummy and the serving sizes are ample. There is a breakfast and lunch menu and they do both well but my absolute favourite item is the "mexicali" breakfast which is mexican-style baked beans on a corn pancake thing and fried eggs. So yummy!!! The service is friendly and consistent.
Great food With Great ambiance and an Affordable price. It was a Great customer service and a Quick service with a Fresh and quality food. The place was Not over crowded, it’s quiet and there are heaps of car park available (street parking). There are lots of drinks options as well, the coffee is also great.
Delicious! you could tell they used ingredients of great quality- the food store baked beans kept me full and nourished for a very long time. I also liked the ambiances and appearance of the place.
Place was recommended by a local tour guide and boy was he right! Lovely food and the place has a very warm vibe due to its eclectic decor and very warm people who run the place. Will definitely visit next time I am in Hobart

Nice cosy cafe with good selection of slices and variety of breakfast options, food has good flavour and is reasonably priced.
If you enjoy a coffee as most do you will find it has a nice flavour and the affogato comes in non and alcoholic.

Macquarie Street Foodstore serves up honest food with a strong social justice vibe. This locals’ haunt in South Hobart seemed the perfect place to think about the need for visitors like myself to travel lightly upon other peoples’ homes. With a couple of dog-friendly outdoor tables set up so diners all face the pretty cottages over the road, this suburban café is an order and pay at the counter affair.
We’re quickly set up with coffees – in my case a quite serviceable Latte ($3.70) ordered strong with an Extra Shot ($0.50) to help cut through the excesses of the night before. The menu, which is dietary requirement friendly, really points you at the Foodstore Savoury Breakfast ($21). All three of my party ordered it, so nobody felt like they were missing out.
Piled upon a giant corncake, is a mound of gently cooked yellow scrambled eggs and a generous amount of bacon. Two grilled tomatoes and some rocket give the golden dish a splash of colour, along with a generous pour of good Hollandaise. The hash brown eats more like an Indian potato cake (aloo tikka), adding in some extra stodge to ensure you won't walk away hungry... if you can walk away at all. Yes, this is tasty but simple, stick-to-your-ribs tucker presented in the generous portion size that Hobartians seem to prefer.
Lovely, lived-in atmosphere. Super friendly people, great value for money for food that still tastes amazing (Micky's BLT was awesome). Looking forward to coming back to try more stuff as there's lots to choose from.
