We had a fantastic night, amazing food, atmosphere and service. Don't go to Three Japanese for sushi, sashimi or California rolls as they are not on the menu! Go there if you are looking to experience the wonders of traditional Japanese cooking, served delicately on beautiful Japanese dishes. The biodynamic wine was superb. We will definitely revisit next time we are in Hobart.

Tasmania trip (last minute as usual due to ever changing covid restrictions 🀦🀣). Christmas day dinner in Hobart at @threejapanese - great Japanese food! The service was a bit slow, but it was a public holiday, and they did what they could πŸ™‚. . Kaki Furai: Deep fried panko oyster with six flavours. We don't normally like raw oysters, but these fried oysters were amazing! Loved all these different flavours!!! . Cauliflower karaage: can't go wrong with fried cauliflower πŸ˜…. . Squid karaage: these squid were very nicely done - super tender! . Nasu dengaku: the eggplant flesh was so soft and smooth! Really yummy with the miso sauce on top. . Wagyu beef sukiyaki: the wagyu was really nice! Good quality beef. The broth was a bit on the salty side, but the flavour was really delicious! We were seated outside in pretty cool weather, so this hotpot was perfect! . Kushiyaki: mushrooms, momo, butabara. Nicely grilled skewers 🀀🀀.

Date/time of visit: 17 April 2022 at 8:00pm This is an excellent restaurant that we discovered during a walk around Battery Point. We did not have a reservation and had a 15 minute wait for a table to become available. This is a very popular restaurant. Staff were excellent - friendly, talkative (when discussion was initiated by the customer - they were not intrusive), and knowledgable about their menu. Decor was lovely. The food was exciting and delicious. We tried a few things we normally would not have tried - we weren't disappointed. We also tried a few things that we are used to (and that I use for comparison with other Japanese restaurants) and, again, we weren't disappointed. The salmon sashimi was extremely fresh (just be aware of small bones - this was the first time I had experienced bones in sashimi, it was only 1 or 2). The gyoza was wonderful. The salad was amazing - the char on the lettuce plus the dressing was wonderful. The only very minor disappointment were the Kushiyaki. These were great when brought to the table but they cooled down quickly. They were served on what looked small grills that I assumed were hot but they may have also cooled down quickly. This was partly our own fault due to ordering too much food - we should have asked for it to be brought out in stages. However, this is only a minor quibble and did not affect our enjoyment of the meal. Quality and price of the meal was excellent. I would recommend making a booking due to the popularity of the restaurant (especially during holidays).

First of all, I wanna say that this Japanese restaurant in Battery Point is the best πŸ‘Œ Wanted to have some Japanese food, and man, who had known we could find some hidden gem πŸ’Ž We read the review before coming here (that said a Japanese friend of someone recommened this place). Off we went and we truly loved it. Food was amazing, not to forget about the hospitality from the staff. The restaurant itself was tiny but the decorations were very Japanese-styled (oh the neko/cat cushions were so cute aww). The top 3 food we would love to recommend: Squid Karaage, Sukiyaki, and Nasu Dengaku. (Black sesame ice cream was also πŸ‘Œ). Best eat in Hobart!!! xx Definitely recommend this place. 10/10!!

Amazing restaurant , food is really tasty and in line with Japanese tradition, the restaurant embrace you with a fully relaxing atmosphere and also a cultural tour from bamboo in the garden ,dishes that let you feel the Japanese colture.Food is presented really well and everything is really tasty and high quality ,and also they really take care of presentation . Only things that happen was that they were really in short of personal when i was there and some delays and service no was really effective, but this doesn't stop me to give the best rating, probably was only that day i will come back in there , i've already book for new year's eve ,hope this time will be at best . Highly recommended . Don't hesitate.

Down to earth, honest to goodness flavours. Attention to details for taste and texture. We had the kaki fry and that was crunchy on the outside, moist and juicy on the inside. Chicken kraage was juicy and tender. Sashimi is fresh. Gyu Don, gyutan don, Nikku udon satisfies the belly as well as the soul. Worth getting out of your way for a visit!

Kids friendly!!!!! Best Japanese BBQ Skewers here. We came as two families with 4 little one. The little one was teething and exhausted before the dinner. Been unsettle and crying around. At the end I relocate him out and try to settle him. The staff was kind and caring, she came out and offering ice and water for the little one and ask if there is anything else we need. The food was great especially the BBQ Vegi Skewers! Jucey, Sweetness taste from the vegi. Will definately came back again.

Food service was exceptional and the overall quality was amazing, however the miso eggplant had too much miso (by half) so I would recommend some rice to go with it.
