Saw this old Pie shop on our way to Kangaroo Valley and I thought, I could not 'not' stop-by especially when it says "Best Pie in the World" as they claim. Had to check it out. It was quite full of people inside when we got there and saw that there is a 'back room' so I asked the lady if we can maybe squeeze in there, I was with my family that time.

So when we went inside, we were surprised at how vintage it looked like, there were like this small room of library full of old books, candle wax and Kodak films (who still uses films?!). Anyway, I find it really awesome that they keep some vintage stuff in there which gives place more character.

So we sat beside the window, I think it was made of alloy or shell, with dirty-white curtain illuminating the sun, while we eat our hot home-made pie. It was delicious really, tasty juicy and hot. It was a shame tho that their beef-wine pie had ran out when we arrived. So just got the chilli con carne and lamb, which were fairly good. I would come back here next time, hopeful to try their beef-wine pie!  >,

I liked this place mostly because of the lady at the counter who was very friendly and chatty. The pies were not bad. Very flaky and nice crust with mushy goodness inside. I could easily eat two!

Self proclaimed "the world's best pies" - this place sure is popular because by the time we got there around 1pm, the only pies they had left were the lamb & vegetable and chilli con carne. The pies are encased in puff pastry, which was flaky and nice but a bit on the thin side. My chilli con carne pie was quite spicy, overall it's not bad. The shop also sells a variety of gourmet foods, it's got a charming old world feel and outdoor seating to a beautiful view of the kangaroo valley.

Not bad. Actually, they're quite good. The pastry is a bit on the thin and floppy-side, but as the world's best pies, they were decent.

'The World's Best Pies'. And yes they are pretty good! From a long list of pies, we chose the traditional Australian. This is a mincemeat pie with mixed herbs wrapped in the famous pastry. The pastry is world class. Arguably the best there is. The base seamlessly wraps around to also form the pie lid like a completely sealed unit. You wonder how the meat ever got inside. Savoury mincemeat with onion and flavoured with mixed herbs. It is a whopper and you really need a fork at the end to scoop up the overflow of mince. Pies cost $6.90 which is pretty reasonable for the area. See this and many more pie shop reviews at our Sling Adventures website.

This place has the best pies in the world. It is amazing and consistent. I never miss a chance to grab myself a pie every time I pass through the Southern Highlands.

I haven’t eaten yummy pie like this. It’s absolutely fresh and yummy. I try beef and mushroom. It’s so good. My husband tried creamy chicken, we think my pie was better. I highly recommended beef and mushroom pie.

Always a great experience. Although we would like them to cook more vegetarian pies since they are more popular. We always stop here to grab a pie and milk shakes. Try to arrive early because the vegetarian pies are the first one's to finish. Has a cute little herb garden for you to sit and eat.

Historic Kangaroo Valley town is located west of Nowra up in the mountains, it’s a small town packed full of history and a great place to stop by for the handmade pies and pastries and cakes in the main street, the pies are always delicious and fresh made. While there you can stroll around and do a bit of shopping in the boutique stores and look around the streets and enjoy the sites and old buildings and homes.

Not sure if it's the best pie in the world but it's definitely the best pie I've ever had. Although we did wait a bit for our pies to come in, the service and the pies itself made this shop a total winner for me. I ordered the Steak and Mushroom which had a soft, crispy pastry on the outside and the filling was basically like a nice warm soup. Definitely will come back.

My partner had a pie here over a decade ago when he was a kid and still talks about it actually being the best pie he ever had. We drove all the way out from Sydney just for the pie last weekend, only to find out they have sadly closed. A tear might have been shed. We hope just temporarily?

Was initially skeptical of the place claiming the world's best pies but it certainly is the best pies I've eaten. The pastry is wonderful and the meat tastes fresh. My choice from the menu would be the steak pie.
