Love the daily lunch specials. From steak sandwich, chicken wrap and half parma etc. All for just $19.90 and comes with a drink. Service is excellent and the food quality & portions are good. Food comes out very quickly. If you like watching sports, they have several televisions broadcasting different sports channels which you can enjoy whilst eating and happy hour with friends.
I’ve visited this pub twice this year and enjoyed both visits. The first I went for Easter lunch which was nice and chill as the place wasn’t over crowded and the second time was a Saturday night which was a busier night.
First visit: I ordered the gnocchi with peas, asparagus, tomato and ricotta which was super tasty and the gnocchi melted in my mouth. My brother order the chicken Parma which was huge and filling. We also had a bowl of fries to share which was a nice accompanying dish.
Second visit: I had the scotch fillet steak with mushroom sauce and vegetables. I requested for my steak to be medium rare and it came out very soft and pink. My mum ordered the pan fried ricotta gnocchi with pumpkin, feta and sage which had really nice flavours. My dad had the pea and mushroom which melted in his mouth. We ordered a side of fries again as we enjoyed them so much the first time! I also had the lemon and lime butters with my meal. The service was a bit average tonight which was probably due to it being busy.
I’ve had an occasional beer and a pub meal for years at Skinny Dog in Kew. Convenient to tram routes 48 & 109. I came through recently and sank a couple of happy hour schooners solo while I waiting for someone who I was catching up with for dinner up the road. They have a good happy hour on a Friday evening from 4-7 and my Iron Jack schooners was only five fiddy. I’m normally a pint sorta guy but happy to downsize at those prices. I haven’t eaten here in ages and the menu is quite different but I must remember Thursday night is Parmageddon night... I’m always trying to find parma nights that aren’t on your standard Tuesday and it appears I have.
Overall a pretty easy going venue with some good food and cheap drink options. Certainly best pub venue in the Kew area.
Skinny Dog is local for me so been many times for lunch and tried nearly everything on the menu. Food is fresh, tasty, good quality and well priced. They offer the typical pub options and lunch specials but also some more refined dishes and a great specials board. Specials included barramundi, seafood linguine and chocolate fondant (only $12!).
Location is excellent right in the heart of Kew Junction with ample parking and transport options. Ambiance is also excellent, it is clean and modern and diners are well to do.
Suitable for just about every type of dining or drinks. Will definitely return.

The Skinny Dog Hotel is a fantastic venue. It has everything. Great bar at the front. Dining spaces and airy back bar. The clientele are top notch Kew boozers. Classy pub tab at front with the dish lickers on the big screen. Twosheds will return to eat here in due course.
Dropped by this place for lunch on a Saturday. It wasn't too busy but I wasn't too fussed since I was hungry. The waiter didn't seem too enthusiastic about her job but other than that the chicken parma was the best I've ever had and the chips were really crispy. It really hits the spot. Probably will be our go to place for a parma now
GREAT LOCAL
Great food. We had a mix of starters that were lovely and light. Calamari was delicious as were the croquettes.
The Parma that came out was huge and looked amazing. I had the burger which was a great patty and bun.
The beer selection was extensive and the staff Everett friendly and made us feel welcome.
This is my second time here (this time for lunch as opposed to dinner the first time) as the parmas are pretty legendary. It's a family friendly casual kinda place and the reasonable pricing reflects this. A pub style atmosphere complete with sport on the TVs, I absolutely love the chunky chips that come with the parma. Burgers, pizzas and steaks round out the menu as well as of course hot dogs, but I'd recommend the parma given it's what they are renowned for and it certainly lives up to its delicious reputation.
We came for drinks and were impressed , great options on the menu , a step up from your standard pub fare. A good place for a meal , a quick snack or just drinks .... worth a visit.
I had the lunch deal $19, a caesar salad and lemonade. The salad was crunchy with some anchovies, parmesan and the egg was just perfect. A pretty good deal, although around here you can cheaper lunch with similar if not better quality. However the ambience here was perfect with two tellies you can enjoy your sport whilst munching your salads
