Amazing banquet meal with each course more tasty than the last. Wish it was open more often!
Salt Beach, when I first visited this place, I never thought I will be back again, I was wrong, I came back. Not that there is nothing wrong with this place, it’s totally fine, in fact it is a nice place but it was too far from Gold Coast I never would have thought of going back here. Last time I was here was late 2014 and since then this place changed a lot, even a couple of the restaurants I tried before was already replaced by something else.

Founded by Mark Wilson, Lia Mason and Lee Middendorf (ex-Spice Den, Osteria, Taverna and Ancora), the Northern Rivers restaurateurs with the Midas touch, it also relies heavily on an age-old tradition: cricket clubs...Chef Andy Melville presents us with a special menu of items inspired by the cuisine of the west coast of India, made with produce from the local Tweed area, listed on the flip side of the menu: A bowl of rich Goan crab masala with local carrot, scented with coriander, anise myrtle and the balancing acid of bush lime, too delicious to waste a drop.

Incredible food, incredible service. Highly recommend! We came here on a Monday night for the 5 course meal. Every dish was sensational. The young male waiter’s attention to detail and customer service exceeded our expectations. We will be back!
Probably a case of poorly managed expectations on my side, really. The BCC website sells a damn good story, and subsequently I was looking forward to dining there all week. Modern Indian with an extensive gin bar - looked like some sort of Kingscliff Gaggan to me!
Arrived to a changed menu - which is fine, but I think it was a step down from their website in terms of creativity and interest. The gin bar is impressive, but they were sold out of my first preference, which was disappointing.
Food was delicious, but lacked a bit of zing. Ordered a pair of curries for mains, which had had the meat cooked separately - which had terrific texture, but lacked continuity with the sauce as a result.
Honestly - most of these problems were minor, and it was only my ridiculous and unfair expectations which got in the way. Would be happy to return.
Had a wonderful long weekend lunch here ordering the premium banquet. It was great value and great food. This is modern indian in relaxed stylish surrounds. So hard to pick a favourite dish (out of 8!). They were all wonderful but the absolute stunners for me were the Andrha Pickled Prawns and the Goan Fish Curry. Unlike some degustation menus, the expensive dishes were included as part of the feast and they were more than happy to pack up to take home anything you can't get through. Service was very good. Each dish was brought out with explanation and at a nice pace. I can't think of a better place for Modern Indian. Definitely worth the drive to Kingscliff for this chef.
If you're looking for a memorable meal, go here and don't look back. None of the reviews do this place any justice. From the cocktail to entree to main - everything was perfected with precision.
This isn't strictly authentic, the chef(s) have their own vision that comes through in the most interesting way. I've been to India twice and this arguably tops everything.

Absolutely amazing, a place that I would definitely like to return to! The meat is really tender and the flavours combinations are great. The kind of meal that you have to stop yourself from eating too quickly because it's so good!
Wow.... totally impressed...... Indian fusion.... we were not quite sure what to expect but the entrees and mains were all very delicious,.
The staff very courteous and knowledgeable to the dishes being served, explaining what is being served and how it should be eaten
The gravy for the butter chicken dish had a over powering taste of chili powder, which spoiled a otherwise good dish. Would recommend to definitely try this restaurant
This was a fantastic experience. As a solo diner, I was worried that I might not be able to enjoy the "shared dining" concept to it's full potential. I was happy to be proven wrong. The staff were experts in their product and were able to tailor an experience that enabled me to sample a number of menu standouts, matched with superb cocktails. Their take away offer is also a winner. Love the generous portions! Great value considering the high quality.
A wonderful banquet lunch. The flavours are sensational! You won't be disappointed!

Food - delicious! We ordered the set menu. Plenty for two people.
Every item was yum. Not your traditional Indian - better! And guys, that dessert!!! My husband said 'oh its just sorbet, you can have it...' We would both go back just for that dessert! :) We will definitely be recommending you to friends and family and will certainly be back. A great dining experience all round, thank you.
Food was amazing!
My wife and I had the banquet that sampled 8 of the dishes from the full menu and it was fantastic.
Each dish rich in flavor and different to the next. The amount of food provided was more than enough and for the quality of food i found the price to be really good.
I would not hesitate to recommend this place to family or friends and if i were to return to the area for another break i would be sure to book in and visit again!
