Riverstop Cafe

Always good at Riverstop. Small garden a lake and cool breezes add to the experience.

I discovered this place by accident and now it has become a regular haunt. The food is great and at around $8 for a generous slice of delicious cake baked on the premises and fresh coffee it offers excellent value. The staff are friendly, and there is a relaxed and homely attitude. Though it has often been busy during my visits, there is no sense of being rushed and the options of indoor or under cover outdoor seating make for a most pleasant experience. I especially like the work the cafe does to support the community and that they have pay forward cards to provide cafe quality coffee to others in the centre. After coffee it is relaxing to take a walk to the adjacent community garden. I'm so pleased they are now open on Saturdays.

I feel good going here. Not only is the food great and made with love by the "nanas" (who I believe are working on a voluntary basis) in the kitchen but it's always fresh. This cafe seems to be a place we're differently abled people can gain real hands on experience so there's usually staff that are learning and sometimes things may take a little longer but everyone has to start somewhere and it a good feeling to see how happy the staff get when they know they've made customer happy. The laid back vibe of the out door dining area makes it so easy to relax and pass the time without realising it. There's also a lovely garden behind the centre where you can pick up a new plant for your garden for the cost of a donation in the honesty box. The occasional sighting of one of the 'kitchen nanas' running out to grab a fresh clipping of parsley or a tomato from the garden reinforces just how fresh homely the food is. I love how welcoming and inviting this place is. I must admit when I first went I was sceptical, how good could a community centre cafe be, right? But that was wrong of me coz this place has become my favourite local hideaway for a good meal and a coffee. I am so glad they're open on Saturday a now so I can treat myself even when I'm not on annual leave. Love love LOVE this place!

Have been many times before and can not recommend highly enough. Coffee not always how I like it but food tasty and fresh. The staff are kind and friendly and lots of other activities going on and great for a catch up. Treat yourself and support your community
