Review Thai Square Leura - Leura

After two horrific experiences in our Katoomba vacation, my expectations were quite low. The rating on this place was only a 3 too, so I said let's go check out somewhere and have low expectations. At first glance the place looks amazing, the restaurant itself gives this cosy feel, we came for dinner and even had a 2 year old brat with us. Our waitress was awesome, she was so welcoming and was handling the whole front by herself and she did a great job. We ordered yellow curry with a mix of seafoods and some other chicken curry food. The rice had to be ordered separately, but came in this nice fancy pot. The food was spectacular, flavourful, I'm so surprised people have given this place negative reviews, my experience was the complete opposite. You guys are doing an awesome job. My next time in Katoomba, will definitely feature another night here. All up with alcohol it costed us like $60. What an amazing place. I wish we could sit outside next time.

We stumbled upon Thai Square when visiting the Blue Mountains. The food was good and fast. We ordered the pad Thai chicken, chicken cashew and fried rice. More than enough food for free people as the portion sizes are generous. Something to keep in mind as sharing plates is definitely the way to go. We sat outside as it was a pleasant day but there is indoor seating as well. We almost had the place to ourselves as stumbled in as the lunch serving hours were coming to a close. Good solid Thai food with friendly service. No outside parking but there is street parking directly at the front, free for one hour. Parking available around the corner as well

The curry dish is ok but the beef and seafood are a bit hard to chew. Staff is nice and foods are served very quickly.

The food is good and generous sizes. Prices are reasonable. A bit cold inside on a cold night.

Some of the best Thai in Sydney! Had the Prawn Tom Yum Soup, Pad Kee Mao and Chilli Basil Chicken - all exceptional would highly recommend.

Coming from Singapore, this is very authentically Thai and the dishes were supremely fresh and tasted so good! We ordered the Tom Yum Seafood soup and duck yellow curry and also the prawn vermicelli stir fry, all of which were amazing! Thanks and do visit if you are around Blue Mountains!

I would not come back here again. We ordered a mixed seafood pad Thai and a Laksa (which was honestly pretty good). The pad Thai was unfortunately horrible, it came out 10 minutes after being ordered which made us believe that it was reheated from the night before. The seafood was unseasoned and very over cooked, the egg was burnt and the noodles were sludge. The Laksa came out 30 minutes later even though we asked for them to come out at the same time. We also ordered two beers… in bottles not poured or from the tap- just needed them opened which we waited another 20 minutes for. In the end we decided to leave. There are so many lovely places in Leura but unfortunately this wasn’t one.

Sorry to say we were not impressed with this place. Spring rolls were ok, My meal of Pad ke mao was ok not to bad. My wifes meal of Satay noodles, she couldn't eat. The Satay sauce lack peanut flavour and was cold. I would of brought this to the owners notice however my wife didn't want cause a fuss. When i went to pay i looked after by a young staff member, so i didn't think he deserved to be made to listen to my complaint. Take away buisness was going well, so the locals know what to order.

If you are an indonesian and craving for spicy food...This is the right place. We ordered the green curry, basil chicken and one rice noodles. OMG too good...the lady was super friendly. Food was quick and fresh.

I went there a lot of times because it close to my school. Staffs there are very friendly and nice. Foods was fantastic. Highly recommended tomyum, padthai!!! The reason I come there a lot ‘cause I really like tomyum and padthai ❤️❤️ prices are reasonable and suitable for students .

I'm writing this review because I wanted to offer my opinion after reading some of the less than stellar reviews.<br/>We've seen this place several times on previous visits to Leura and have always been meaning to try it but never had the opportunity. This time we finally got to try it and we're glad we did.<br/>The restaurant is quite a cozy welcoming place and the staff were friendly, quick and attentive. Food we ordered was lovely. Not out-of-this-world, to-die-for, but very very nice. Serving sizes were also generous. We especially liked the soups.<br/>I suppose I have to mention one negative that we did find - the toilets were not quite as nice as the rest of the resto.<br/><br/>At any rate, I'll close this review by saying that so far it's won our regard and that the family is already looking forward to coming back on our future trips to the Blue mountains.<br/>

Good Curries. Recommend the Yellow and Red Curry. Lightning fast service, nice fireplace too. Yum

Too sweet!. We enjoy going to this restaurant - the people are lovely, their duck red curry is lovely, the place is lovely... BUT the dishes at this restaurant are getting more and more sweet every time, to the point where we have stopped eating there. There is way too much sugar used in the dishes - it ruins the flavour of the food. It makes your teeth hurt it is so sweet. <br/><br/>This is an easy thing to fix. Everything else about the restaurant is perfectly good. I trully hope the staff there read these reviews and do something about it.

We were presently surprised having read some of the reviews of Thai Square. Food simple thai, nothing new, but delicious all the same. The staff were extremely friendly, some more competent than others. And it's BYO! Next time in Leura we will be back!

Its not Thai food. Came to eat Thai but have to eat Chinese food. The main course is terrible, dont let they fool you with selection of seafood,meats... with whatever style because every single dish just the same. I ordered duck with chilli basil and they brought me duck with oyster sauce, no sign of chili or basil leaves, not to mention raw vegetables. They pre cooked all the meats ( im fine with it ) then throw all of it into a hot pan with less than 2 minutes. How could you stir fried thick cut and chunky pumkin, brocoli, mushroom, greenbean and carrot in 2 minutes, its just unbelievable. I asked the waitress to re-cooked the vegatebles for me because im pregnant and i cant eat raw vegy, she took my plate and come back after 2 minutes and it exactly the same. I've been travel to Thailand and eating Thai food for years and nobody ever lie to my face like that, i have to pay for what i didn't order at Thai Square Leura. Foods are terrible, raw, too much sugar, no hint of chili. Bad service, a whole indoor full of bad odours, disgusting toilet. NEVER AGAIN.

Very bad food. Had take away from here and it was truly awful. I hate to give a bad review but the food was seriously questionable. Will never be back.

Not bad. Pad thai was not nice, everything on the menu was very sweet. it was ok but stuff had trouble speaking and understanding english

This was a great restaurant. Service was great and food was amazing. Massamam curry was a little watery but favour great. Recommend this restaurant anytime. The banquet menus are very good value.

Service was slow but they were eager to help afterwards. Food was basic Thai fare.

Great food, and decor. service was a bit slow but lovely. more spice and chopsticks would be great as well. but was still delicious.
