Authentic Italian run restaurant that had delicious food, attentive waitresses and an all round cool owner. Crispy woodfired crust and generous toppings.
A very authentic Italian restaurant with fantastic pizza and pasta. The service was also very good, in a very authentic Italian way. We will definitely be back!
A very homey and family style Italian restaurant which produces authentic italian food with love and passion. Their pastas are amazing - the 4 cheese gnocchi is our favourite and they are very generous in size. You always feel at home when you visit and know you'll leave veryyy full!
I would go back to Rossini a million times and more for their tiramisu - those layers of coffee soaked sponge and that sugary deliciousness!!
So good!
We had the veal with mushrooms and lasagne bolognese for mains which did hit the spot - lasagne more than veal - but that tiramisu.. my oh my !
Good home cooked meals being served here
This is a lovely family-owned Italian restaurant down Glenferrie Road in Malvern.
I have been here several times over the years but have never sat down and written a proper review until now. Rossini's Ristorante is a very classic, traditional home-style Italian restaurant. They specialize in pizza and pasta but can also do a variety of meat and seafood dishes.
Whilst dining in with a friend, we started with an entree of their delicious garlic bread which was well seasoned with just the right amount of salty butter, herbs and garlic. For our mains we chose the Fettuccine Ai Funghi and Ravioli Al Pesto. The serving size of both dishes were fantastic, so filling and delicious that ordering a dessert never crossed our minds.
The staff were by the looks of it a mixture of family and friends, and many of the diners appeared to be locals that knew the owner or frequented the place so often that they knew each other by name. It's not hard to see why Rossini's has so many happy customers. It is by far one of the busiest restaurants in Malvern with reservations definitely preferred.
It's nice to experience the Italian culture and cuisine without having to travel all the way to Lygon Street in Carlton.
There is dinning, going out for a bite, then there is "Rossini's", an experience. What's to say, or Whats NOT to say about experiencing the REAL flavors, and most importantly, the REAL emotions, warmth and REAL friendliness you receive once you walk in the door of this marvelously dedicated, home style traditional family owned Italian bistro, nestled among the historical buildings of Glenfierrie Road in Malven , Victoria(Melbourne) Au.
As Americans, we lack this type of REAL dining experience when visiting what others boost to say, "traditional" flavors in dining. These people are the REAL THING, the menu is full of home recipes that the owners themselves created, or documented from their family members before relocating to Australia from Italy over 60 years ago, talk about credentials.
Everything is the freshness that local growers can provide, you will not find anything wrapped and suffocating in plastic and shrunk-wrapped "for freshness", their ingredients are alive an breathing right up until it reaches your table, especially any of the seafood items.
Take my comments for its value, while living in Melbourne, my wife and I dinned in the front corner window EVERY Friday evening for three (3) years , standing reservations at 7:30 PM, the menu while not extensive, it shouldn't be, its the experience, NOT an "Olive Garden", changes with homemade specials, reservations are suggested, private parties are welcomed, especially family events, we saw so many "happy birthday's" and other events taking place, its a REAL location to begin that family tradition that your children will look forward to take with them in their future.
We will be visiting Melbourne in March 2017, and I have to ensure I diet extensively beforehand , since I'm looking forward to re-kindling my appetite and especially re-booking my Friday evening reservations well enough in advance, and making sure I do not embarrass myself , remember, this is the front window table. "Bonn-Appetite".
Authentic and friendly Italian restaurant on Glenferrie road. We all started with the bruschetta, really delicious! For mains I ordered the spaghetti with clams and zucchini, it was actually so good! Topped with rocket for a nice touch! The vanilla pannacotta was so creamy and the perfect end to a lovely dinner.
They have an autentic Italian Chef - very excellent traditional Italian food - if you live for Italian food, your in the right place for sure - cosy , a bit cramped and food gets served prontisimo. Ecellente.
Let's be clear this is not the place to take a first date for a romantic tryst!
Be prepared for service which can sometimes border on the "Manuel from Barcelona" style of waiting!
However what Rossinis does very well is provide good home cooked Italian style comfort food...great for a Friday night when you have had a rough week and great for families judging from the amount of extended tables with 3 generations dining at once.
My father picks this as a place to meet up with the whole family. If you do go with all age ranges you will see why it's a good choice.
It is bordering on safe, there are no bells, no whistles. But they don't claim there to be. Its pizza and pasta. Nothing special but still fresh and yummy. I guess that why we keep returning.
Was a bit apprehensive about returning to the Rossini institution from some of the previous reviews but went back to an old family favourite and it delivered. Delicious meals, generous servings & friendly service.....Rossini still has it!!
Fabulous!!!! Always consistently good, generous servings, delicious pasta, warm friendly service. A favourite. Great atmosphere. Excellent pizza, light, fluffy base. Good wine. For a cosy night out, highly recommended.
been coming here every Friday night for the past 6 years, absolute best pizza! cannot recommend more
Really amazing spaghetti and great friendly service. Highly recommend getting dessert 😋
