Really good food at really good prices. Genuinely some of the best Thai I’ve had outside Thailand. Feel lucky to have found this gem. Everything from their Pad Thai to their salads is just on point.
Lovely local Thai joint - nothing too fancy inside but a great feast for any day of the week! Particularly enjoyed the green curry, although would pick a different meat next time as the beef was a little tough. Also loved the prawn pad Thai. Very reasonably priced and good portion sizes!
Flavourful delicious Thai food for take out. Tried the mango prawn curry and the chicken Tom yum soup. Reasonable prices, would improve by cutting the chicken into strips.
We loved our dinner at Shallot Thai, the highlights were the Pad Thai which was saucey fresh and tasty as well as the Satay Chicken with vegetables. Both mains were a generous portion for the price and very satisfying!
Would dine here again!
ventured to this Thai eatery on recommendation from friends. Good cosy welcome on a warmish night. The entire evening continue in same vain with good food and friendly staff. For entrée we delved into the soft shell crabs $7.90. Lightly battered with plum sauce, very tasty. For main I continued with the Pad Mee Seafood $14.90. Nice egg noodles tossed with vegetables and seafood . Satisfactory, without reaching great heights. My friend chose the red curry chicken, which she enjoyed, commenting of the right amount of spice and balance of textures. Bar prices were very reasonable aswell. Overall a consistent array of quality and a place to come back to.
This is our go to Thai restaurant, we love it! We have tried others in the area but the flavours are never as good! Dining in has always been a great experience, but delivery is super easy and still just as delicious.
I can't comment of the dining experience but the food is the most incredible Thai I think I've ever had, Thailand included! I must say, I've never once eaten in but the take away is spot on, reasonably priced, and super delicious! The duck gaeng dang is insane, so creamy, full of meat and perfectly matched with their coconut rice! The pad Thai is also incredible, certainly not dry and full of flavour and meat! It's definitely a usual when I'm in the area!
The food was delicious, green curry was rich and sweet, Pad Thai was It was alright with a nice mix of ingredients (lots of peanuts!), For our entrée, we ordered the deep fried soft shell crab. It wasn't as crispy as I had liked it (it had probably lost some heat along the way), but the juicy flavours were definitely there. You can't go wrong with sweet and sour sauce on the side either.
We drove pass Shallot Thai a few times but only decided to try out the other day since we were wanting Thai food and didn't want to drive to Richmond for Jinda. The restaurant is bright and clean. The interior is more like modern Thai style. We went for the special dish on their wall, which was prawn in mango curry, sambal sauce and brown mustard seeds. We also ordered tom yum soup, golden bags and pat ta krai (stir fried beef with lemongrass). My favourite one was the golden bags as they were perfectly fried. The down side was those leaves they put on plate for decoration, they were all wilted. Tom yum soup was very flavourful and perhaps is intense if you are not used to Thai food. My husband really enjoyed the prawn mango curry. It is so fragrant and has such interesting flavour, different from other Thai curries that we have had before. Our least favourite one was the stir fried beef with lemongrass, the beef was so overcooked and dry. Overall I think Shallot Thai is affordable and serves just above average Thai food. It is ideal for take-away meals or Thai quick fix.
To date, I can honestly say Shallot Thai is one of the best Thai restaurants I have had the pleasure of dining in. Such delicious food! Every dish presented so well and scrumptious not to mention the genuinely friendly service. Worth it folks:)
