I am a fan of this hearty decorated restaurant on glenferrie road. Whether you are going for a drink, a munch or a fusion healthy dinner, it would satisfy you. I have become good friend to the boss lady of the restaurant. She is very friendly and always innovative on her menu. I like the crispy chicken with cha bao and the slow cooked pig feet.
It's a beautiful Taiwanese cafe full of vintage decorations. It offers plenty of drinks and those two we tried were splendid. Most tapas were great except for the rice tapas that was quite blend. It's a fusion cuisine and they had done a great job. The staff were very friendly. The couch was a bit too low to be a dining seat.
Not sure how many people is Taiwanese here for rating the restaurant. Especially for those who comment the food was not good or bla bla bla...
It is truly the best Taiwanese food I ever had in Melbourne. As I AM a Taiwanese, I know what the food taste should be. This restaurant is the best especially compared to all those fake Taiwanese restaurant... Anyway I luv it
My partner & I ordered the tasting plate with two glasses of win for $29. Bargain! Their was plenty of food with a bang of flavor. Loved the Tofu and the sweet potato chips.
Fantastic food!! They have made some delicious Taiwanese food. We love everything we've ordered. The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is relaxing. We will definately come back again.
Great food. Great Service.
We had the mixed tapas plate - it was really tasty. A good deep fried assortment.
We also had the skewered squid. Very nice.
Cool atmosphere too.
Having walked by a dozen times and been curious about this place with the eclectic couches and generous decor, we finally popped in for a meal. Hubby and I shared the curried lamb main, and chicken - which turned out to be XXL chicken on purple rice. Flavours were well balanced, not overpowered. Love the purple rice. It felt basically like a "Western" meal you'd get at a hawker in Singapore. So Taiwanese fusion is probably a good description.
YES! I walk past this shop almost every day on my way to work and today - finally - went there for lunch. The lady who's running it is absolutely gorgeous, though she seemed to be a bit distracted by her friend sitting at the table next to us?! We were the only two tables, so I guess fair enough, I found it quite hard to not over-attend customers then as well, so all good.
The ambiance is like you're sitting in someones living room. Some of the pictures might be a bit tacky but I felt very comfortable while sitting there, even though it was so quiet.
Then they brought the food and it was absolutely delicious! We shared the spicy beef with a serve of (purple!) rice and a chocolate brownie (unfortunately I wasn't too hungry). We also had the green and pink blush juices and finished off with a spiced chai.
Enjoyed every bite and will definitly return - next time with a better appetite!
- Sorry for the poor quality of the photos. I have to admit I still don't feel comfortable taking pictures in a restaurant for some reason.
Looking into this cafe, upon first glance, it could pass as an antique furniture store, and you wouldn’t really know what to expect. I’m not really sure what kind of look they were going for with the chairs, but they were very comfortable!.
Delicious. First time to this little treasure. Very cosy with great atmosphere and the food is delicious. Service is very friendly. We will be back for sure.
