I went here with my fiancée and family (group of 6) on a warm Friday evening.
Food: I ordered the lime, sriracha chicken with risotto, my fiancée the ricotta mushrooms with quinoa and my sister the linguine. All meals were very well presented. My chicken was yummy albeit a bit dry (hard to avoid with the breast) but the srircha was well balanced. Risotto was a bit bland but wasn't grainy or undercooked which was appreciated. My fiancée loved her mushrooms and ricotta and my sister said the linguine was "fresh and delicious".
Value: bit on the expensive side (we are in Manly overlooking the beach of course) but sub $30 for each meal was still good. If the risotto was a bit better I would say mine was good value but overall the mushrooms was well priced. Linguine was $26 which is a bit much for pasta IMO but it was marinara and the seafood was fresh.
Service: very friendly and attentive staff who managed us well despite a busy Friday. I appreciated not being asked my order within 5 min of sitting down. Also it's BYOW so that was a plus.
Overall it was a great meal with a great atmosphere. There were even a couple of cute dogs on the table next to us - nice to know there is a pooch friendly place in Manly!
Excellent spot, right across the road from Manly Beach.
I had eggs benedict, with bacon, which was tops. Bacon slightly over cooked, and a 2nd piece of toast would have been nice, however I'm nitpicking.
Well worth a try, if you're ever in Manly.
Opposite Manly beach at the northern end of the Steyne is the very popular Jellyfish café. Sit inside or out and enjoy the added benefit of beach views and salty, sea air. Whether you come for just a coffee or a meal, Jellyfish is open from 7am – 11pm! If you come for a weekend breakfast be prepared for a short wait as you compete for a seat with the many bike riders, surfers, gym junkies, locals and tourists. Go for a light croissant, a muffin, an acai bowl, creamy vanilla porridge or a fresh fruit platter. If you need something more substantial Italian scrambled eggs or the Breakfast plate complete with smoked salmon, asparagus, semi dried tomatoes, feta, avocado, poached eggs, dukkah w soy linseed toast should hit the spot. If you want to go all out just dive into the Big Brekkie w bacon, eggs, sausages, tomato, mushrooms, hash browns and toast! The menu changes for lunch and dinner but I can definitely recommend the angel hair pasta w blue swimmer crab, prawns, chilli in a garlic lobster broth! A firm family favourite!
