Amazing! Very different to see modern decor down handson road. Come here with my family every other week, we cannot get enough! Our all time favorites are the 'peking duck', 'salt and pepper squid' and 'BBQ quails'. Food is super fresh and flavours are authentic. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable.
Desserts are ALSO A MUST!! Extremely cheap sticky rice with coconut ice cream ($9), Belgium waffles with coconut ice cream ($12) and several more!
I could go on about this restaurant for ages- it's a must!
First time at Star of Saigon having signature dish "Pecking Duck" the meat was nice and tender. Is the best duck dish that we haven't had for a long time. Beautiful atmosphere, definitely will be back.
Went for the lunch special. 12$ for a meal and a veit coffee. Pretty good! The spicy noodle soup is not quite spicy enough. But the crispy chicken is really nice. Quite cheap I think.
Great quality and great atmosphere. Great quality food compared to other places around the area, and the recent introduction of the lunch specials and 3 dishes and a soup dinner special really makes your money's worth. Going to recommend this place to friends.
Spot On. Our group of 7 had the beef noodle, duck noodles, combination rice and crispy fried chicken rice. Everything was great! Granted this place is a bit more expensive than other similar places in the area, but the decor is new and clean - not something that many restaurants in this area can lay claim to. Serving sizes are very generous too. Left totally stuffed to the gills.
Not your average Vietnam restaurant - decor is elegant as is the staff. Quails and mains were great but rice hot pot was very disappointing - too gluggy. Stick to fried rice. Overall I was happy with the flavours and would go back again.

My dining experience at newly opened Star of Saigon Vietnamese restaurant was delightful, located within WESTWOOD PLAZA at the corner of Hanson Road & Grand Junction Road; it conveniently unlike other Vietnamese restaurants in the area has a rather large car park and is well lit. Walking past which looks to me an outdoor dining area with marbled tables & wicker seats with a huge bi fold glassed wall joining the two. Looking through the simply stunning window graphic's are four crystal chandeliers red & gold wall paper. Once inside I was mesmerized with the gorgeous decor with chocolate leather booth bench seating wrapping around the entire restaurant, every little detail complemented the next from the tables and chairs to the menu folders whilst the bar is completely marbled as the waiter greeted then seated and handed us the menu's I was impressed by the drinks menu with cocktails array of spirits & wine, Vietnamese drinks range of flavours of traditional smoothies. We ordered a jack fruit & a custard apple smoothie. The dinner menu had all of the usual Vietnamese dishes and quite a few signature dishes, also offering live seafood the waiter informed us there were four tanks at the back of the restaurant. lobster was out of season and only had barramundi or murray cod so we ended up ordering the Star of Saigon signature fortune chicken and the Star of Saigon signature 3 course peeking duck, Star of Saigon signature BBQ quails, Star of Saigon signature crispy parcels, Vietnamese rare beef salad, oyster ginger and shallots, salt and peepers squid and for dessert I got a Star of Saigon signature Belgium waffle with coconut ice-cream whilst my husband got the sticky rice with coconut ice cream. it all was amazing Star of Saigon have created their restaurant with our dining experience in mind the price was too cheap for the experience and atmosphere the restaurant provides we departed with feeling strangely spoiled from what were used to experience from other restaurants. My family and I decided to try out Star of Saigon after driving past the restaurant many times. The design of the place itself is absolutely gorgeous with a modern and vintage feel. This approach compared to other Vietnamese resuarants is different and unique which we enjoy immensely.
Naturally, being in a Vietnamese family our expectations were indeed high upon the food and drinks. The restaurant did not fail to deliver and exceeded our expectations! The food was presented in generous proportions and presented beautifully! My family enjoyed every bit of their meals and drinks. Complements to the bartender and chef!
The atmosphere was delightful and the staff were friendly and welcoming. My family and I were surprised to how much we enjoyed dining in this restaurant. Will we come back? Absolutely! All in all I cannot find a single complaint and I easily rate this restaurant a 10/10
Food is suitable for most westerners or non viet speakers, service is good, nice decor atmosphere inside. I prefer other places for food but I could take people here for catch ups, occasions if needed
