Love, love, loved Rustica Canteen! A hidden gem, with a sneak peek view to some gorgeous furry felines over the lane way. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food and coffee were perfect❣

It’s been forever since the last brunch! Even though it’s still relatively quiet around the streets and alleys, it’s good to finally see people dining in at places while maintaining social distancing. 🥰
Music: Well first things first, can’t emphasise enough more on the great playlist, if you’re down for some chill and lofi vibes, this is def the place (Not sure if lofi is their everyday playlist tho).
Food: Was great, really love the Wholemeal Waffle. Its a guilt free experience for someone who loves dessert. The candied puffed quinoa sprinkled on top was a way to go!
Service: Really thoughtful and friendly team. Share plates were provided way before we thought about it.
Tried corn and chilli waffles, and breakfast salad. Their breakfast salad is definitely underrated. No one really talks about it but it was the best salad I have ever had. It was full of flavour, nutty and fragrant I really wanted the recipe x lovely ambience and friendly staff and service. I Would definitely come back
We had our standard smashed avo and corn fritters. They were both full of flavour. Loved both. Also the shaved ice at night is good too
What a nice place to have a brunch date. The staffs were friendly and attentive. The corn and chilli waffles taste like indonesian corn fritters but in a fancy way. Overall, it is a good place with a good food! Will come back for more. The price is average just like any other brunch place. Around $20 per dish
I got the mushroom medley which was fantastic. I always order the mushroom dish at brunch places and this was by far the best. The melted gouda was an amazing addition and it added another depth of flavour and texture. The eggs were perfectly cooked and runny and just tied the whole dish together.

My fiancé was the one who found out about Brick Lane as we were looking for a new brunch place to try out in Melbourne CBD. It did not disappoint!
Our arrival was just on time because they already started serving sandwiches, aside from their all-day breakfast menu. Sandwiches are available from 11am onwards. He ordered the pulled pork sandwich, and as for me, the southern crispy chicken sandwich. Of course, we ordered our standard choice of coffee, the flat white. Both meals Were absolutely good. The pulled pork was really juicy. My crispy chicken (with mashed avocado and a few veggies) was really light and refreshing on the palate.
We will definitely try out their other dishes when we fly back to Melbourne!

Brunch catchup in the CBD on a Sunday. Brick Lane has been on my list for a while. It was about a 20 minute wait for the two of us to get on the communal table. Our server was lovely (didn’t get her name, of Asian appearance), and I went with the chili bacon scramble. It was delicious - no doubt about it, but $20 for eggs on toast always bothers me. My mate had the avo smash at the same price. My cappuccino was below average, but the server and the food made up for it. They accepted payment by Zomato Gold without a problem.
Everyone raves about the coffee and brunching experience in Melbourne, so naturally you know I had to try it out myself. Our recent trip to Melbourne had a very early morning flight, which meant we had a few hours to kill before checking in to our Airbnb - close by was the very popular Brick Lane located in a tiny laneway of a main road across from a cat cafe.
With a neon sign that’s hard to get in photos, the smell of baked bread and plants sprawling over the walls, The Brick Lane offers everything you want.
Be aware with the vegan option of avocado toast - it automatically comes with Mushrooms! Coffee is fantastic.
