Nice sit down breakfast. The menu was a little restrictive but tasty regardless. Even plain and simple scrambled eggs on toast was tasty. Good coffee.

Great table service even during a busy morning. Food was excellent and well presented. Coffee was also quite good

My wife and I have been here about 10 times, mainly because it is round the corner from us and it's open on weekends. Coffee and pastry are pretty good but slightly pricey, the setting is nice and clean but the service could be much better - would be nice if staff would smile (they seem pretentious). Only once were we met with friendly service. I read the other reviews and 4 of 8 complained about service, the other 4 found staff friendly - so if you go there please write a review including a mention of the service because I think it needs work. It's a pity because the setting and the hours are great. I hope the management will follow up on this.

Located in The Blackman Hotel in Arthur St just off St Kilda Rd, this is one of my favourite breakfast places. The food is consistently good and the staff are very welcoming. The Herb Omelette is one of my favourites. You can also buy French Bread and sandwiches to take home. Later in the day, lunch is served and they have a great wine list to go with the food.

Stayed at The Blackman hotel just above the French wine cafe. We were reluctant to have breakfast here as it was Melbourne Cup morning and the place was so busy and the staff looked stressed. We found one available table. Wow! What a great decision. Just amazing food. The best breakfast ever! Eggs perfectly done. Salad with avocado was sensational. Hollandaise sauce beautiful. Make sure you stop here for breakfast!!

This place has so much potential, conveniently located in a beautiful spot. We stayed at The Blackman hotel (amazing place) and had breakfast included in the package. Upon arrival we were handed a menu to choose items from different to the normal menu. Nothing was explained to us, and when my husband wanted to add some extra sides to his meal he was told he would forfeit his free meal and need to pay the whole amount to add extras? So he was only allowed one extra with his food? (Couldn’t pay extra to add mushrooms and tomato). When I asked for gluten free toast I was oddly questioned and made to feel very uncomfortable. We were stared at for part of our meal by staff, and basically just wanted to get out of there. Food and coffee was great but it didn’t matter too much.

Morning brunch experience here was memorable. Enjoyed the house baked croissants and their french omelettes both chevre and herbed. Coffees were good. Service good too. Outside sitting area allows pooches to come on board which is a plus!

They've got these plush chairs that remind me of a classic hotel lobby. There is something about the view of Arthur Street, the quiet and cosy setting. The food is delightful and fair priced. It is a very pleasant cafe to enjoy alone or with others.
