Review Yassas - The Greek Way - Melbourne

The Gal Travels
Gorgeous sunset views at this very busy Greek restaurant. Loving the freshness of seafood platter. Even though they are super busy they handle things very professionally. Reservations are a must. Live music is such a nice touch!

Absolutely spectacular food! I cannot recommend Yassas more highly! The ambience on the balcony is wonderful and energetic. The quality of the cooking is 5 star! We will be back! Evharisto!
Andrew Pang
We had the mixed grill and tried a few of the dips. All excellent. The pan-fried pita bread was amazing.

Tastes exactly like a Greek one. Dishes name typical Greek style and description helps us what the dish is about. We had been here for a farewell. All liked the way food tasted. We tried many of the dishes and all tasted pretty good. We were completely satisfied. We took sometime to search restaurant in the mall. Must try dish is chicken or mutton gyros dine and obviously pita and dips.

First time dining at Yassas. We came for our Anniversary dinner and I must say the food was amazing! We had the Lamb Souvlaki, Calamari and Zucchini fritters and finished off with the Loukoumades topped with walnuts and honey. What a wonderful night we had eating this delicious feast overlooking the Yarra!!

We had the seafood platter and I think the calamari was the best I’ve ever had in my life. Add to that friendly service and great drinks makes this one of the best Greek restaurants in Melbourne.

Ticks all the boxes for a nice lunch. Efficient service, 😋 delicious food and a nice outdoor balcony to catch the river crowds vibe but not be in it.

Food is tasty and big serves, the entertainers where loud and added souvh atmosphere. The let was having booked we waited for 30 minutes and changed table once. Will still return

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon with 2 friends for the bottomless brunch. The food and experience was absolutely fantastic. Friendly accomodating staff and absolutely delicious food! We were even given a complementary dessert to have while we had a few drinks after the allotted 1.5 hours.

An absolutely exceptional experience that I will be coming back for!

This restaurant needs to be rated more highly! The atmosphere and decor combined with the Greek music really makes you feel like you’re dining in Mykonos. The food is delicious - we all ordered the mixed Gyro plate and it was a generous amount of food and the lamb was delicious. So perfectly cooked, not too oily and great seasoning. The pita bread was so good, I could’ve taken a whole bag of pita bread home and eaten it alone. I wasn’t sure if the price would be justified but in the end it definitely was. My sisters and I couldn’t believe we hadn’t been here sooner. You also get a view of the Yarra River as you sit and enjoy your meal which is a plus. Only criticism I have was that it took around 20 minutes to get the food to us which was instantly excused once we tasted our food. I’m definitely coming back!

If you are going here for a bite to eat it would be a decent place, but this place has some hard advertising going for their, what can only be described as; a mediocre / disappointing bottomless brunch.
The advertising sounds amazing, but the reality upon arrival finding that you can only have one particular drink is disappointing.
Formulating a plan for the table to get some variety we forged ahead and was ready to order, only to be met with the waitress telling us that until we order food we cannot commence the drinks (when everyone was to arrive)
You can then imagine the disappointment having been accepted for a booking of 7 people to be told we needed to sit separately because they only accept a maximum of 6 (would have been handy to know upon reservation)
We eventually had to wait 40 minutes after arriving to be served our first drinks, which was eating in to the advertised 1.5 hours - I understand that one of our party was late, but I don’t think it should hold things up the way they did.
The entire experience was met with a gracious waitress who appeared to want to help and meet customer expectations, but being constrained by a manager who wanted to not only stop our fun but glare at us multiple times throughout the experience.
The food was good, but ultimately I would avoid the bottomless brunch or taking people here if you want them to experience fast and friendly service.

2.5 / 5 Most of the restaurants along the Yarra River on Southank are mediocre but YASSAS seemed like a pretty decent Greek restaurant (and it's quite difficult to go wrong with flavors) to try, and more so because we had to go to see Turandot at the Arts Center Melbourne.

Quite a romantic set-up, this spacious restaurant is strategically placed on Southbank's food mall overlooking the Yarra River and the table we received had a beautiful view.

We quickly ordered glasses of wine, and Lamb Curcuma and Prawn Souvlaki

Where both the dishes were very fresh and served with nicely cooked meat, it failed to impress us with the flavors.

Quite an expensive meal had it not been for Zomato Gold that kinda balanced out the bill. But definitely not worth the flavors that you are served on the plate.

Hospitality is good and service is quick.

Even if it is better than all those places we have tried on Southbank, wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We had some friends visiting from overseas and after walking down the promenade from Crown, we ended up at Southgate. I wouldn’t normally want to eat around here, but the sun was shining and it seemed ideal. We got the ‘pikilia’ sample plate, prawn garides and the mixed grill. All priced around $30, the servings aren’t particularly huge. I guess you’re paying for the location and it’s popular with tourists that know no better? All the meat in the mixed grill was tasty, there just wasn’t much of it, and not many chips either. The ‘pikilia’ was the same and included a zucchini fritter, bread, saganaki (best tasting of everything), a singular halloumi chip, a singular dolmade, a fig like jam, olives and tzatziki. The prawn garides was in a tomato sauce that seemed straight out of a can. It hadn’t been reduced and was just chunky tomato and included 1 prawn and a couple of shrimp. This dish was very below average! Staff are quite abrupt and pushy. The table beside us had a family come and sit down, only to get up and leave 5 minutes later without ordering anything. We used EatClub, and the prices were slightly higher than what was stated on the menu (before discount). Would I come back? No.

This is one of the most average Greek restaurant I have been to. Albeit their portion size was big, the food just missed the mark. The salad didn’t seem very fresh either, like it’s been sitting there for a while. The service was good. Ample seating area.
Darren
Nice food, friendly staff, good service, good value for money.

If you want to have a restaurant in one of the best locations in town with the best view in town, get it together. It must be incredibly expensive to run this place. I ordered the chicken and mango salad and it took about an hour even though no one else was in the restaurant and the mango was frozen. Tasted like in was in some sort of syrup. Look it just wasn't fresh. Pretty pathetic when mangos are in season right now. I couldn't be bothered taking it back because it took so long to come out and I had a train to catch. If you didn't have any unfrozen mango on hand why wouldn't you just let me know so I could order something else and have a pleasant experience?

Great service. Waiter worked hard to accommodate all our food intolerances and adapt for us. Enjoyed the gf pita too. Delicious and fresh food.
Snaprose
This place is well priced, great service and great for children - they were provided pencils and allowed to draw all over the tablecloth.

And the food was so so yum. The gyros platters are super generous, I could hardly get through mine.

Will definitely be back!
Sugs Dora
Didn’t like the service here. Waiter was confused about Zomato Gold. Both my friend and I had Zomato Gold and were told we could only order a Main and side each not 2 mains which is ridiculous. Food was average didn’t like the Lamb Curcuma at all. Location was decent therefore 2 stars.
Hannah Roberts
Delicious food with a great view over the Yarra. VERY generous sized dishes (I couldn’t finish mine)! I got the mixed Gyros and the meat was tender and delicious. Only rating a 4 as I felt the service could have been a bit more attentive.
Nay Nay
For the greek food lovers theres now a food court option for greek grilld. Reasonable meats and reasonably priced.

Staff are nice , food portion size is good as well in terms of salad and carbs , was expecting more protein.

Why ENA?
We had a pre-theater dinner at ENA last night, choosing the restaurant off the list of nearby Zomato Gold restaurants.

Table and service
We were seated on the balcony (covered and heated in winter) with views looking out over the river and the city - very pretty with the lights. The waitstaff were incredibly attentive.

Menu, food, and drinks
The menu was extensive and priced comparably with other Southgate restaurants, but using Zomato Gold made it very good value. We took advantage of the happy hour ($10 cocktails!) For mains, we shared the Moussaka and a Lamb Gyros plate, both portions were huge and tasted pretty good. We liked that the meals came with chips and salad already, no need to order extra sides (though you could if you wanted to).

One more thing...
One thing to watch out for - we booked through Zomato and received two confirmations, but there was no record of our booking in Ena's system. This wasn't a problem as there were spare tables when we arrived, but it would have been disappointing if there was no space. If you book online, call the restaurant to be safe.

We came using Zomato Gold today. Staff were super friendly and attentive. We ordered Souvlaki and seafood risotto , lokoumades and Greek coffee . Everything was perfect from live music to food taste and quality. Price was high but reasonable when you justify it with Zomato gold. Seafood orzo lacked taste but souvlaki , dessert and coffee were perfect . They deserve 4.5 but I can’t give that on Zomato so I settle for 4.
Main meals 4/5
Staff 5/5
Value for money 3/5
Atmosphere 5/5
Overall 4.5/5.

We had lunch at ENA today with friends... we were greeted with a friendly smile. The service was great. The food was awesome with great flavour. We would visit again...
Casey
AMAZING!! Got the first entre platter and the chefs selection desserts. High quality, good food. Amazing view and ambiance. Staff were incredibly friendly.
Karl
We went there tonight for a farewell, mixed grill was good, snapper not so good and a bit smelly, salmon special was over cooked dry on a bed of capsicum...not good, stuffed cabbage leaves mediocre
Service was friendly and helpful
I always ask myself would I go back answer probably not,
Was it outstanding in flavour
No not really
Would I recommend it to others more than likely not

If your looking for a great place to share some
Amazing dishes family style then Ena is the place for you. We had the banquet for 4 people and everyone left as full as you could be and content. There was plenty to try and everything was cooked to perfection. Food paired with a great view over the Yarra and extremely polite wait staff will guarantee a good night out.
Food Junkie
Came here for a work lunch. It always seems busy so we thought we give it a try. You can smell the meat roasting on charcoal as you walk in, so if you’re not hungry you would be.
I had the grilled calamari entree. It was sooo tender and delicious. I should probably ordered a side of salad or chips as it’s not enough. Theo there’s we’re commenting that their mixed meat gyros were also delicious. Will come back and try the gyros next time.
Eliza
Mediocre and overpriced. My first choice off the menu was not available. I ended up choosing the stuffed capsicum with roast vegetables. It include 2 pieces of potato. One stuffed pepper (with rice) and a tomato for $28. Rather expensive for what it was.
Lily Zhang
Honestly, if I can give 0 star for this restaurant , I definitely would!!!! Today is our company one year anniversary, we booked this restaurant because our manager is from Greece, she got home sick, so we wanted to try Greek food, had been looking forward to it! I was so disappointed, worst customer service ever! Unfriendly staff even took our unfinished plates, wth with that? The food, OMG ,!!!worst Greek food I’ve ever had, for sure! If I have to give one star, I give the live music then! That’s all, we couldn’t finish our food, disgusting!
Antonia Charalampopoulou
Literally the worse Greek food I had in my life.
Do yourself a favour and DON’T go there.
I don’t know from where should I start. The rude waitress that had no idea about the menu they were serving, she grabbed our starter plates with food on, asking us very aggressively if we are done. Never experienced something like that.
The food was disgusting. Personally I had “pastitsio”. The food was probably 5 days cooked and warmed up. My friends had lahanodolmades, yemista and beef stifado. No one finished their food. We left in an hour cause we were starving and ended up having burgers. The yemista was filled up with oil, the rice was swimming. The lahanodolmades was extremely sour and pink. Yes. Pink. The augolemono sauce was pink. Probably some kind of gourmet that nobody likes. The beef stifado... horrible.
Check the photos.
We ended up paying $400 only for the drinks we had and the dips. Nobody ate their food.
They do have nice view, but that’s what southbank offers.
Worst experience ever!

Ena is located along the yarra river with really nice view. There are a fair bit of tables outdoor where we decided to sit really enjoy our lunch. We went for the banquet for 2 option. There was heaps of food. The meal started off with pita bread and some dips. Then we had saganaki and fried calamari, both were really good! Next, we had loukanika and mixed gyros. To be honest, it's hard to go wrong with mixed gyros and Ena nailed it. There were a bunch of different types of meat to choose from and eating here left us satisfied.
Barry Moore
They gave us kranskys and rissoles (!); I understand its difficult for souvlakia meat to be charred on the outside and red, juicy, fatty, but this stuff was just dry and boring; over priced; they’re inflexible with orders; not sure Greeks run the place.

Meat platter photo attached (kranksys, rissoles and dry meat) cost $70
Chris Muscat
One of the busiest Greek places I've ever been to. Right in the heart of Southgate, this place is definitely booming over the weekend. The food is delicious! I usually get the Mixed Gyro and the serving is MASSIVE and full of flavour. Staff are very nice and friendly and if they aren't too busy, they'll make time to talk to you. Great place overall!
Keith Lawrence
Loved it - a perfect, airy, sunny spot by the River Yarra with a table overlooking the water and a light lunch of watermelon/haloumi salad, deep fried crumbed eggplant chips and saganaki with pomegranate/fig salsa. Truly scrumptious - more than enough for the two of us, and with a bottle of sparkling water, reasonable at $65 (it is Southbank after all). Will certainly head back for future reference.

You can't go wrong with Lamb Kebab! So, I ordered it and I was not disappointed. The lamb was beautifully flavoured and the pita bread was sooo good!

We also got one of the sharing plate for starters. The grilled feta definitely stood out me! What a yummy plate of goodness!

You can get seatings inside and also outside by the river. The decor and vibe was also really nice and inviting. Very relaxing evening with a lovely bunch of people.

Check this place out if you're ever in Southbank!
Dephialis
It was alright. In a lovely location on the Southbank river. The service was so lovely and accommodating. I only found the food just to be average though. I got the falafel gyro with chips, pita and salad. My partner got the lamb shank and the Nutella on pita. He quite enjoyed both dishes.
TheSkinnyFoodie
Have they franchised this business now? I haven’t visited since before Christmas but I went today and it looked like there had been a major change in staff and management. Ordered my standard calamari dish and the serve has reduced in size by at least 30%. The prices should reflect this. The place was always overpriced for what most would consider as fairly basic “Greek” fast food but this could be partially excused because they had generous serves.
Thebrunchgirls
Some of the best greek Street food in Melbourne. I highly recommend sitting on the terrace & ordering a gyros! The food is tasty & the service is fast!
Veggie Foodie
I loved it !! I had the falafel gyros and it was so delicious. $23 for such a huge and generous portion - side of Greek salad, handful of chips, 4 finger shaped falafels and 5/6 mini pita breads. I was so full and didn't finish it all haha. Definitely recommend ordering the gyros if you ever come and share with a friend - the portions are huge!

My Key Three Pointers
* Loved the food that I could eat
* Was not sold on the service
* Enjoyed the atmosphere and the live music was a nice surprise

I would have potentially given this restaurant a higher rating but something did not sit very well with me. If I was not dinning with another couple and children that were hungry I would have made them replace the food we were given but I did sit quite and was surprised. We opted for the banquet and we were very clear to outline that we do not eat Pork, we asked if this could be replaced and were advised they don’t make adjustments to their menu. That’s fine, if you don’t change your menu or replace items then I expect if we do not eat something, you simply don’t serve it. We happily paid for something we don’t eat and were served pork all over the other meat that we could eat. If you made that error, then I would have expected you to remake this fresh without the pork. Instead when we pointed it out, it was removed and we were given the same food. You obviously don’t take customers dietary requirements seriously. Would you serve nuts to a customer that had food allergies? Would you serve a vegetarian meat? I don’t understand why the staff thought it was acceptable to remove the pork and put it back in front of us.

The service was blunt and you either take it or leave it type of attitude, disappointing as there was many things I liked. The food portions were very generous and the rustic way it was served was perfect. The dips, saganaki, bread were fantastic and the grilled octopus was sensational, I could potentially return just to have this. The dessert was yum, the decor and live music really felt like I was along the beach on a Greek island. The manager who arranged our seating was super friendly, if only that service filtered through.

After paying $370 for dips, bread, cheese, octopus kids meals and a good bottle of wine, I walked away saying I’ll give you another Go. Good outcome for your restaurant.
The Pet Roo
We were lucky to land an outside table on the balcony on a beautifu warm night. We shared the entrees comprising of homemade dips (we chose humus, taramasalata and beetroot) which came with chargrilled pita. Very nice but had to order more pita as not enough pita in one serve in comparison to the drips. We also shared dolmades and halloumi. The halloumi was delicious and served with fig and honey jam which was a nice contrast. We ordered our own main meals and i went for the yemista which was one of the few vegetarian main meal options. It was a big serve and personally would have settled for one stuffed capsicum in return for a side of salad and chips as two are way too heavy though delicious. Ordered a separate side of chips and even though they looked good, they were not crunchy on the outside so were left unfinished. Service very friendly.
Jen Morris
We had a lovely evening here, food and atmosphere great and service was so accommodating (even when I’d booked my table for the wrong day!) almost a perfect score but unable to split bills at the end of the evening was a bit of a downer

Came with a group of friends for dinner. We were seated outside which has a nice view overlooking the Yarra. Had the gyro plate with chicken gyro, which was alright, but nothing special. Have had much better Greek food elsewhere.
Soundararajan K
Very good Greek restaurant in South bank. Have been to this place couple of times. Both times I had chicken Gyro platter. Lil overpriced. However food is very good quality. River view seating is very good..!
Tessa
Service is quite good here. They were able to cater to my last minute big group. Serving sizes are generous. The mixed entree platter was delicious. Would recommend that to sample a good variety. We also had the meat platters and were very full and satisfied.
Marine Piersotte
Food was great and nice to share. Some items more than others. Definitely recommend getting a share plate of the Chef's starters. Staff were nice and attentive. And the view from the terrace over the Yarra River was fantastic!
Ken Leung
Visited on the weekend and surprisingly it isn't busy and sitting is quite comfortable and it's located right beside the river which got great view. Good portion is enormous which I loved it and overall food quality is standard but staff can be little pushy.
Angey
Lovely atmosphere however food was about average.. which came as a surprise as most Greek places are amazing.
Always up for a great Greek meal however was let down at the start. Staff were lovely. I asked about the ‘horta’ entree which is usually a simple delicious greens dish with some lemon. The waitress had to check if they had any and I was really hoping they did. She came back to say we were lucky and they had them. Wish they didn’t as we were served the stalks of the greens seriously... we paid for the stalks alone.
Saganaki was also over cooked and tough and chewy.
Lemon pieces were on rashons.
My main meal being the vegan mousaka was reasonable. Husbands meat platter was also ok however was missing the gyros which the menu said it came with. Good selection of Greek wines available and nice live 2 piece band. Unfortunately we won’t be back in a hurry.

Friendly staff, prompt service, good menu. The meat quality was good, not bad but not great. Portion size was filling and a good atmosphere with a great view by the water. Recommend

ENA has a fantastic position above the river along Southbank, friendly enough staff & efficient service....but, they just haven’t quite got the food right. If you name a dish ‘crispy’ then make sure it is! The side of chips were just warm, the saganaki had great flavour, but not crispy as described. Average Greek food at best.
Sia C
Nice atmosphere especially if you get a table on the balcony, has a nice view and lighting. Souvlaki plate is so tasty and big portion size. Vegetarian meal has a reasonable variety however flavour is lacking. Calamari rings average..
overall the place is nice if you're at Southgate and looking for something tasty and filling get the open souvlaki plate!
Jessica Kartawihardja
Came here with a friend for our last night in Melbourne. Originally think the food shoukd be rated 3/5 but one star extra given because of the great view of Southbank.

Ordered the meat platter for two and dolmades.
- Dolmades was average as usual. A but pricey for 4 pieces.
- Meat Platter was huge: 6 pita slices, tzatziki, 4 patties, lots of chicken and pork. I found the overall dish, especially the patties to be overly salty and the tastenof each meat tastes similar so it lacked variety.

Overall, great view and decent food that was filling. Would definately come back if I crave Greek food.

What a disappointment

Sat down ready to order......

We ordered two 59 per person platter

A spanakopita

Bottle of wine, beers etc

Hmmmm

Sounded good

But no

The waitress say’s you now have order 2 mains as well

We were four people

No display showing u must order a minimum of a main anywhere to be seen......

Well

Astalavista we left

Sorry guys we’ll never be back......

Toodles

ENA is an evolution of simple, fresh and flavoursome ingredients. They offer quality dining with a relaxed atmosphere we often visit while in the city conveniently located on Southbank along the Yarra River.

The restaurant has a great feel to it and great atmosphere staff are friendly and food is amazing

This is my go to Greek restaurant for the open souvlakis (gyros I think)! Meat is so nice especially mixed chicken and lamb, and so is everything else.
St!nger
consideeing how busy and popular this place is I think it's rather over rated. The gyros was rather plain. It wasn't horrible but it wasn't really any good. I expected much better for the amount of people here
Joe Hamaker
Very disappointing, the chips were soggy and the lamb was chewy and dry. A bit of Fetta and a few olives doesn’t make a Greek salad which was ordinary to say the least. The wine was warm and they couldn’t even get the order right, not to mention one of our diners being served their meal 15 minutes after everyone else. A resounding thumbs down, especially for the price.
Xronis Vlavo
Disappointed as the porkgyros was really hard and tzatziki was bland , not spiced and potatoes were frozen and without taste. Might have been a bad night as I had eaten there before and I enjoyed really the food ..
Emily
Entrees were good and staff were friendly. However, we waited over an hour for our mains to come out and when they finally did, our chicken gyros was undercooked.
Geoff Smith
Service was good, too many waiters asking the same things though.

The grilled octopus and calamari was really good, tasty. The stuffed cabbage rolls were well under-seasoned and a bit soggy, but tasted good. The Ancient Grains salad was actually very tasty as were the green vegatables.

There are better greek places in Melbourne, so once again you pay a bit extra for the convenience of the location.
AngeLuvFood8
Located in SouthGate this Greek Restaurant has a very lively atmosphere. The staff is helpful but on the day that we went it was soo busy and packed we had to wait for quite sometime to flag a wait staff to our table to order.Though the menu had extensive range of food. the price was quite expensive. My friends and I all decided to order Gyros. I ordered the mixed meat Gyros with greek style chips, tzatziki, greek salad and pita bread which costs $24.00I would have loved to give it a high rating but unfortunately the gyros fell short as the chips were dry and cold ( they were not fresh at all) and the lettuce was also not fresh. I had to push those away and eat the meat. The meat itself was not bad but overall It wasnt a pleasant meal.

For $24.00, I really didnt think it was worth it at all. I will not go back to this place.
Mish 🍔❤️
Ambience in the restaurant was very nice, had a cute Greek vibe to it. The staff were friendly and attentive. I had a chicken gyros, it tasted very nice and the serving size is definitely worth the price. Will be back again.

I live in Southbank and eat here all the time. Ena never disappoints! I usually order the lamb gyro dine in. Huge round platter of meat, salad, fresh pita and chips. Great atmosphere with live music some nights. The share platters are a great option for a first timer. Highly recommend!
Jlovrencic2
Really great restaurant. I don't know how it has the same rating as some other greek restaurants in the area.
I started going here just to buy suuvlakis for lunch and decided to come back with my girlfriend for dinner one night. The view over southbank is awesome, the fitout is vibrant and the food is really good and fresh. We've come back here a few times and it has always been great.

The food was fresh, tasty and quick to the table but it was the service that really wowed me. Everyone was so friendly and courteous, making us feel very welcome from the moment we walked in.

Really enjoy their lunch takeaway, tried the spanakopita with side of salad and a vegetarian falafel wrap- so good with chips and sauce. Quick for lunch takeaeay too

Visited ENA at Southbank in late hours of the day around 945 pm. The staff was cautious in advising that it was late entry and kitchen would close at 1030 pm, basically we had to order straight away.

Ambience of the place is decent, seated in the gallery across the Yarra gives splendid view of the city and lights. The gallery is enclosed with transparent blinds to keep the cold wind out and allows the views. 7/10

We looked at the wine list which is pretty average for the offer by glass as well spirits on offer. Requested for Cab Merlot- the staff forgot to serve us our wine and towards the end apologised for the error. 3/10

For entrees we tried dips and pita and for mains ordered Gyros in Chicken and lamb. The pita and dips were excellent, chicken and lamb well done, salad and accompaniment was good too, overall good food. 8/10

Service was average 5/10

Revisit : Maybe

A one hour ride on the South Morang line straight to the last stop gets you to this lively, bustling food hub in the busy Northern shopping centre of Plenty Valley. Launching their new food court, Westfield invited us to to ENA Greek Street Food, which also has a few chains in the Melbourne city surrounds, including Docklands and Collins St. It was a roomy, fresh interior with a Greek aesthetic of white and blue reminiscent of the blue topped roofs of Santorini, featuring a heavenly selection of souvlas, honeyed desserts and Greek wines.

I've had lots of gyros in my life and this one has definitely made a name in my heart! What surprised me the most is that their chicken selection is superior to all the other meat contenders. It was a lovely meal for my birthday week :)

N.B. It's located by the Yarra River, which makes everything better.

Booked successfully via Zomato. The food was authentic and true; no fancy twists in the food we grew up eating. It felt like home. The servings were massive, the service was lovely and the view off the balcony was just right. Have been back since and never disappointed. Many thanks, ‘Kali orexi’.
Jessica Nguyen
Average greek food, nothing special. Had the Gyros with lamb and pork. Fresh salad and warm toasted pita bread. Quite busy with it being white night
James
Watched the owner yell at, berate and swear at the poor staff while we ate here. Had the misfortune of dealing with a guy called Kosta when walking in. He was extremely rude. We saw mice in the restaurant and Kosta told us that it was normal for the area? Wth. Then George the owner came over and tried to ply us with alcohol and inappropriate with us and my friends daughter.
Appalling,! Avoid

This place was packed , be careful how much you order as the portion sizes are enormous. Good location up above Southbank. We almost rolled out after eating the meal. The service was good and the meal was not rushed. Give it a try for lunch or dinner.
Slush Puppy
We ordered a few dishes to share... lamb cutlets were cooked well, nice flavour. The lamb & chicken souvlaki was cooked well, though it was a small plate of food for the price, nothing spectacular. The meat platter for 2 was value for money but not very tasty flavours. I have tasted better greek food.. also our waitress was unfriendly and could give no insight into the menu.
Heidi
A friend and I went to Ena for a midweek dinner, it was super busy with Christmas dinners. We shared the mixed meat grill plate, the saganaki and calamari. It was all quite good, the calamari was particularly delicious. Cooked really well!
Mez Crookes
Ena have started breakfast, which some colleagues and I tried out this morning. Menu is very specialised to a Greek style breakfast, which makes it slightly different and exciting from the standard bacon and eggs or smashed avo. Hospitality was just lovely and the zucchini fritters with eggs were sensational. Very yum. Will be back.

With pregnant wife and two children under 4 in tow we entered the restaurant and was promptly served from whom I could presume as one of the owners. Pleased with this.

Following entrees we were asked three times if we'd like our mains served (yes) - only to have surrounding tables served a good hour before we were.

Food was served promptly only when questioned and was explained that The Greek Feast would take up to an hour to be prepared. Still scratching my head as to why this wan't explained prior to ordering and to be honest, still maintain it was a poor excuse for bad service and poor communication with their kitchen.

Not much a review on a food itself but more of the poor service and communication between floor staff to kitchen and extremely poor customer service.

Spring has sprung and what else is there to do in Melbourne other than go on a shopping spree and enjoy the 29 degree weather?! My newly purchased shoes and I took husband across the Yarra river to the lovely ENA. This place had great authentic Greek food and a plentiful drinks list to boot. The serving sizes were super generous and the staff were attentive despite the craziness that the lovely weather has brought about. Definitely a place to enjoy a summer sunset meal with family and friends! ❤️

If there's one cuisine I'm REALLY REALLY loving in 2017, it's gotta be Greek! It might just take my top contender for favorite cuisines. I love Greek food way too much and it was an honest and unexpected surprise when my friend and I decided to stop by ENA's for a very late lunch.

Firstly, to find a place open at 4pm on a weekday in Melbourne for brunch/lunch turned out to be such a hassle. We walked all around Southbank to find a place and to our luck, finally came across ENA. First impressions were absolutely amazing. The staff were really warm and welcoming and the place itself looks so good. It was a very aesthetically looking place and a very good view of the Yarra which is a win-win for me! Good food with a good view is always the best

With a family of 7 adults and 2 children it is safe to say ENA will be on the top of our go to list. Not one of us including the kids (who are fussy) left unsatisfied, we got incredible food which all meats, fish and vegetable dishes were cooked to perfection. We heard many of the dishes including the dips, spanikopita and stuffed cabbage leaves a made by older family generations and you can honestly taste it. The environment was lively without being too loud, the band was great and the service was above the rest. We were seated and served as soon as we arrived and the food came out with perfect timing.
Suitable for small or big groups, you may even see me there again!
ENA, please open more around!

The blue & white theme here immediately makes you think of Greece. When I think of Greek restaurants, I think of the banquets of meats and dishes that keep coming, but this place seems to offer something not as heavy. I like the Gyros, which has a bit of everything, though I still got too full in the end. The meat is very tasty, but a bit on the salty side. Very thirsty afterwards. The watermelon salad is really nice. They grilled the watermelon and put ice on top to make it cool again.

Beautiful food and lovely waiters. We had all appetisers which was definitely enough after a long day in the city. The dips were my favourite. Would definitely go again.

Owners were friendly and attentive, however the wait staff, speed of service, and the price made ENA less agreeable. There was a good 40 minutes between entrees and mains despite the fact our plates were empty - it was not especially busy when we ordered. Trying to catch the eye or attention of wait staff as the restaurant got busier was near impossible, so in addition, we sat with empty drinks for around 15 minutes. When the food finally arrived, although fresh and tasty, it didn't warrant the hefty price tag, especially as the meat and fish portions were swamped by chips and iceberg salad. We had the market fish, lamb souvlaki, grilled saganaki and lemon potatoes. Pleasant if you're in Southbank, but if you're going out with the intention of eating Greek - try a less touristy area.

What a wonderful restaurant. The staff are so super friendly and just so helpful. We shared the feast and it was Amazing!! Everything single item was delicious and there was so much food. Go with an empty tummy so you can enjoy ever morsel. Thanks Ena we will be back for sure!

Very, VERY tasty souvalaki's. Ena is a short walk from my workplace so if I'm having a late night in the office I just pop down to ena and the food is great. I always order the mix souvalaki with garlic and hot chilli

If you are a shareholder of the restaurant the recent changes have been great, souvlaki prices have gone up and the portions have become smaller

Rent and overheads must be expensive in Southbank. For $16 you are presented with a very underwhelming bowl of bits that claim to be gyros meat 'fresh' from the spit (as opposed to cut from the spit a some time earlier, then placed into a metal container), a sad and bastardised version of a Greek salad which was no more than cucumber, kalamata olives and red onion) some pita bread (best of a bad lot)... oh and tzaziki if they remember to put it on.

When you walk in and see the meat on the grill, you have hope. You start to salivate. When you're presented with $16 of sadness, you kinda wonder if you'd ordered off an expensive kids menu, without the obligatory ice cream, topping and sprinkles to follow.

On a 'busy' Sunday night we had a very underwhelming meal at this restaurant. Honestly the worst meal I have had in s very long time. Lacklustre service, overpriced meal options. An entree sized octopus was extremely disappointing!!!! 6 small pieces for $20 you have to be kidding me? If it was something special I wouldn't complain but this was only the start. Cold gyro was served for both meals and it looked and tasted like it was the last bits left from the spit. Overpriced and unhappy. So many better options around - choose one of those!!!

Had a gorgeous 7 course meal here on a scoopon deal! The venue was absolutely beautiful inside and out. We got a table looking over the Yarra river on the balcony which was a stunning location! The staff were extremely friendly and happy to help! Secondly the food was absolutely amazing! It was the perfect amount and the flavours were stunning! The dips were authentic, the calamari was so tender and the saganaki was out of this world! Then onto the meat platter the gyros was the highlight among the other meat plates! Followed by an array of Greek desserts including baklava, Turkish delight and galaktobeureko! Each dessert was delicious in its own way and the baklava was full of sweetness and soaked to perfection! Will definitely come back again

I loved visiting ENA Greek street food! The food is amazing, the staff is very friendly and helpful and it's in the perfect location. I'm so looking forward to my next visit!

Charcoal grill on arrival at the entrance promised a feast. We had the set menu $52 a head. A selection of house made dips and fresh pita bread did not disappoint. The chargrilled octopus followed and a selection of chargrilled lamb, sausages chips and Greek salad. The service was attentive and polite. There was live music playing with several Greek families celebrating. A good experience b

Lovely setting with tasteful background music. Overlooks the water, and balcony was well heated on a chilly autumn night.
Now the food:
Sensational! Got the banquet. Saganaki was a highlight, as were the sensational dips. Every course was well prepared and presented, and 2 hungry people had no hope of finishing it. Service was prompt and friendly

Great food if around Southbank. Good service ask for a balcony seat the views are amazing to go with the service. Had the Calamari salad and Lamb Souvlaki couldn't fault either.

After Vangoh's exhibition we were very hungry and wanted something substantial, we walked by ENA and were greeted with much enthusiasm by the manager and he suggested that we order this Gyros dish. It was a good pick. We had this with the Mythos beer, seafood soup and some live music. Decor has a Mediterranean feel to it and we were surrounded by real Greeks patrons, for a second I thought we were in Greece. Cautionary note: If you want to chat amongst yourselves try to sit away from the band, once it starts it can be quite loud.

Maybe it was an off night ... or maybe not
Absolutely terrible service, the best word to describe the night was unorganised which is a no-no in a busy restaurant.

The waiters would have been comical if it wasn't so tragic, they have no idea and are extremely dismissive and have no idea about anything (they don't know the drinks they are serving, didn't know about food from a menu)

The worst part is all the food came out so inconsistently. Three people on our table had food (mains) come out, the rest of us 8 people had to wait an additional 45 minutes. We asked for sides with our mains but they came out an hour before we got our mains. We had food come out we didn't order(sneaky of them) and food forgotten about. They also seem to have a three year old doing the drinks as they took Forever to come out and forget about asking for water, that ain't gonna come.

The food wasn't bad, some of it was nice but some of it was over cooked. Again inconsistent.

Really need to pick up their game... They ruined a birthday celebration dinner by their lack of organisation.

The mains were pretty good. The seating outside is beautiful and the wait staff were very friendly and accomodating. Dolmades however didn't taste that authentic and were quite bland
Fernando
Simply authentic greek food and a variety to choose from!!

We had the Saganaki, Lamb cutlets, Calamari, Dolmades, the watermelon salad, Moussaka Croquettes and the Soutzoukakia.

There nothing to fault with any of the dishes. It was the first time I've not ordered the 'usual' gyros..

The place is cozy and the ambiance was great with a live band playing Greek and other classical music.
Today I went to visit my boyfriend at work and we decided to have souvlaki for lunch. He ordered chicken with lamb mix and I had solely chicken one. The waiting time was a bit long considering it was a busy lunch rush-hour. When my boyfriend went to take the orders, he specifically confirmed with the staff who just made them about which only has chicken. However, halfway through our eating, I ended up getting the mixed one (they put lamb meat at the bottom and chicken meat at the top), which irritated me. I could not have lamb for health reasons and if my partner hasn't helped me to check, I would have easily ate some lamb before I noticed.

They should seriously consider using numbers for people who placed orders and mark carefully among the different souvlaki options!!!

This place is a touch expensive but the food is fab. I'm vegetarian so haven't tried the meat options but they do an amazing spanakopita. Lovely setting by the river too. Staff are friendly.
