Review Pure South Dining - Melbourne

Mike Graves
Well.. had mixed emotions to visit. Some good n bad reviews. Ambience. Very ordinary. Heavy emphasis in stacking as many punters in as possible. Maximum 40-45cm between tables. Staff. Not in a hurry to serve but polite. The Big Breakfast. Sigh. A lesson in bad planning and execution. Bacon cooked to rubber. Use a chutney to offset the fatty with a flavoured acid. Badly under seasoned and no salt or pepper in sight. All in all first year chef school mistakes Salmon. Apple chutney good. Salmon undercooked. Crispy fired. Needed another 30-60 seconds on heat. Reasonable flavour. Coffee. Clean that mahine or adjust temperature. Acrid flavour from what appears a medium roast bean. Price. For what was received very over priced. The exec chef needs to go to zero on the food outcome. Either poorly trained or unskilled chefs Gave a 2 as this place needs to work to a 3*

Restaurant quality ingredients plus Chef David Hall’s ready made sauces turn dinner at home into a special occasion. We mix and match the meats and fish with the different sauces to make our own creations. We put the Curry sauce in our homemade vegetable soup. Yummy! My favorite is the Salted Caramel Sauce that comes with the Apple Pie.

Great location for a restaurant although the food was very average for the price we paid and also the waiters were not very attentive at all. We asked for a glass of coke multiple times and never got it. But when we left the waiter tried to get us a coke 'to-go' in a coffee cup but the bartender was very reluctant to pour us some 'free' coke.

So good to while away the arvo, safely on a perfect Melbourne day. Glad to be back at a firm favorite. Yummy pizza and a beautiful cheesecake to go. Excellent & friendly service. Doing all the right things!

Good food (albeit expensive) but little atmosphere. I read about this place in Broadsheet years ago but I suspect it has been “sports bar-ified” since then. Went for a meal on a winter’s evening. The whole snapper and salad were delicious, and the staff attentive, service prompt. But the lighting and the music leave a lot to be desired. This place could be gorgeous - please turn down the lights, get rid of the LED signage and the 90s pop rock and it’d be great!

Had a really lovely waitress here. Service was quite slow but it was a Sunday morning and we had been warned. Food was a little smaller than expected with one tiny poached egg but it was perfectly cooked. Small portion, even the juice glasses are tiny, but a lovely scenic venue.

Always great food as would be expected as it is sourced from Tasmania. Steak exceptional as was the whole baby snapper. Menu has been down sized during COVID but still a good choice. Was quiet and servers were a bit to attentive. I do recommend this resturant

I was very aware that I was paying for their rent with this meal. Had a "big" breakfast for $28 and was honestly tiny. Egg poached well, but the toast was nearly inedibly hard, they had completely forgotten to season anything, and presentation was rushed even though they weren't busy. Coffee was good and service was polite enough!

Upstairs is a beautiful room with a good view of the kitchen, a little noisy but the food was delicious with fresh ingredients all done with care.

Pure South Dining occupies a great spot by the Yarra River and it’s always bustling after work hours. We’ve had drinks here a couple of times but was in the area one morning and decided to have breakfast instead, and it was great! The food was delicious - we had the ham & eggs and mushrooms on toast - both were flavourful and not too heavy to start the day; coffee was good and staff were friendly.

Pure South is a great venue and the food was very impressive and beautifully presented; service was okay however it was obvious more staff were definitely required to manage the number of diners. I am hesitant to refer friends as the noise level on the night we dined was over the top. Not conducive to an enjoyable, relaxing evening. We literally had to yell at each other at the table to conduct a conversation and so, from this perspective, it was rather disappointing.

This place has always been amazing but after undertaking a huge renovation it just keeps getting better. Predominantly local Tasmanian cuisine, which has always been super fresh & delicious! The chefs here are absolutely fantastic :-)

grilled octopus w/ pesto cannelloni 😍 would easily inhale 10 of these dishes 👌 great balance of flavour and texture! Would have loved more on the plate 😊 7/10 for portion, taste and vibe ☑✌

Delicious feeding ground in the centre of Southbank!<br/><br/>📍Located directly across from Flinders Street Station on Southbank, Pure South Dining offers a dining experience of pure quality. <br/><br/>💲Whilst the prices are higher than other lunch locations in the area, it also provides a higher standard. <br/><br/>📸 Pictured are the Hotcakes from the breakfast menu. Paired it with some morning Mimosas - perfect! <br/><br/>✅ Fantastic for lunch meetings<br/>✅ Great spot to meet friends<br/>✅ Location<br/>✅ Food quality

The renovated Pure South Dining has a big presence on Southgate, being located at a major intersection along the Yarra. We had dinner here and the dishes were generally good. The service was also professional and friendly. The views are definitely a plus for the location.<br/><br/>We shared the scallops, octopus and kingfish entrees, and had the beef cheek, blue cod, eye fillet and pork for mains. We also had the broccolini and chips as sides. I enjoyed the scallop entree the most - it came with a bisque that was decadent and tasty. The octopus and kingfish were also quite good though.<br/><br/>For the mains, I was quite disappointed with my pork. It was supposed to be a mix of pork loin and pork belly, but the dish came with 2 larger pieces of loin, and only one small piece of belly (I was expecting at least a 50/50 of belly). But the main issue I have with it is there was a lot of fat on all the pork. Even the strip of pork that came with the scallop entree was almost entirely fat. The same went for my pork main. The fat is important in giving it a moist consistency, and I could tell all the dishes were well treated, but I really wasn't interested in eating mostly fat. The other mains were decent, though admittedly not exceptional. The eye fillet I thought could have been a little warmer but was otherwise good. The chips were not as crispy as I thought they would be, but the seasoning was quite tasty and I ate more than I thought I would. The inside of the chips were quite soft and there were some crunchy outside bits, so it was quite nice. The broccolini was also nicely done.<br/><br/>Overall, I can't say that I was very impressed with the food given the prices, but aside from the pork, that may have just been my particular taste. Nevertheless, the food was all well prepared and if the menu attracts you I think it is worth a try.

Beautiful breakfast menu with lots on offer - hot cakes were certainly something different but tasted wonderful. Service was prompt and staff friendly

Good food with the Tasmanian focus being the highlight. Portion size could be a little more generous but still not bad. Nice wine list with some value options to be had. Service was solid despite a busy night.
Melbourne, Let’s Eat
Love love this place. If you’re looking for great quality food and an awesome selection of drinks to go with it, this is the place. The dining area was upstairs so we also had a lovely view overlooking the Yarra river. <br/>Everything was absolutely amazing.

Had wallaby for the first time. Thought it'd be softer than kangaroo, but no. It was quite tough. Crispy outside, that was nice. Chips was okay. We sat by the window but the view wasn't great. Excellent service though.<br/>窓際の席やったけどヤラ川がちゃんと見えへんくて微妙やった。カンガルーではなくワラビーがあったから食べてみたけど、固かった。サービスはいい。けど総合的にまた来たくなる程ではないかも。

A very nice dining experience - with a wonderful view. The service from when we walked in was very inviting and no judgement from the staff. The atmosphere was great and felt welcoming. We started off with the oysters, although not oyster experts they were fresh and very much, an oyster. The drinks were also great. We then ordered the pork and wallaby + fries as the main. The pork was wonderful, and chips amazing. The wallaby was quite chewy but cooked great and tasted just as good, but not the quality expected from price. Overall a great experience and seems like a good choice to introduce people to Australian cuisine.

Place. Very nice location and perfect for a sunset. <br/>Environment. Chill and good not too loud.<br/>Price. A bit over the top but it pays off with the view<br/>Food. Been a couple of times so it really changes don’t know why but sometimes it’s delicious and sometimes is cold not properly cooked.<br/><br/>Drinks. Average<br/>Dessert. 8/10
Brad
Great service, atmosphere and views let down by some mediocre food. <br/><br/>- Cured Kingfish 7/10<br/>- Wagyu Pastrami 6/10<br/>- Beef Tartare 6.5/10<br/>- Scallops w/ Pork 9.5/10 (definitely highlight of night).<br/><br/>For main I had the Beef Cheek and it was pretty much inedible.  Way too much fat left on the cheek and ridiculously salty.
Mike P
I regularly dine in the upstairs restaurant and find it very good for a business lunch. Recently l had the set menu down stairs in a group. Great atmosphere and exceptional food and quality with attentive wait staff. Highly recommend it. The range of small dishes were both different and could not be faulted. The set menu was also really well priced at $55 per person.
Dulasha Fernando
Great location and friendly staff.. however the drinks and food was quite slow on a Wednesday night and the three small dishes we ordered with the drinks was very ordinary.

Had dinner with 4 friends on a busy Friday evening.<br/><br/>A good range on the menu with generous serves, of the meat at least. I had the wallaby which was cooked perfectly. However, the menu said “with carrots”. - what I got was 6 very thin discs from a carrot - they must have been able to get at least 50 discs out of a single carrot! I fail to understand why restaurants can be generous with meat and incredibly stingy with vegetables.<br/><br/>The service was mainly friendly but very average. We had to ask twice to get a pepper grinder to the table. And we ordered sides of chips with the mains. They didn’t arrive so we called the waiter to ask for them - “they will be right out” he said. Well, they weren’t so we had to ask again. They arrived when we were more than half way through our mains and, although very nice chips, had far too much salt of them, far too much. Why can’t restaurants allow customers to put the salt on their chips?<br/><br/>At the end of the meal we ordered coffees. Mine was warm, definitely not hot and I asked for a replacement and the manager started challenging me - “did you order extra hot?” No, I didn’t, I ordered coffee and coffee is served hot! What kind of restaurant school tells you to argue with customers like that?<br/><br/>They have a good wine list but expensive. I’m used to, but don’t like, the tripling of the retail price on wines in many restaurants. But I ordered a bottle at $60 wine which I liked so much I bought it at Dan Murphy’s this morning at $15.20. Tripling the retail price is pushing it, but quadrupling it, well.....!

It's a good place to have Australian food. I tried the Tasmanian line white fish, and it was tasty. The dessert was also great. A nice choice to greet friends from afar.

This was the first place we saw after walking over the bridge... so we came here for dinner.<br/>Nice big restaurant/bar .. friendly staff and great views.<br/>We ordered:<br/>Lobster & chilli dumplings-nice<br/>Fried chicken tender-definitely crispy<br/>Eye fillet with twice cooked chips-was nice but not super tender<br/>Quinoa salad-nice<br/>Finished with Tassie Espresso & a Affogato - the affogato needed 2 scoops or one bigger scoop of ice cream.<br/>We didn’t get offered any water which was missed but neither did other tables so maybe not their thing...<br/>Rating probably more 3.5-4

This is the night my fiance proposed. I ordered scallops for entree and it was beautifully cooked and great seafood. It had a side of pork belly which was soo yum. I wish they didn’t pour all the sauce all over the entree though was nice just too much. My fiancé ordered the squid for entree and he said it was really nice. He ordered the kangaroo and it was okay as far as kangaroo goes. Nothing too special. I ordered the pork belly and it was very nice. Chips are yummy. Loved the salt on it. Very good views and interior. The toilets are on point (had to include that)

Walked into ground floor Thursday afternoon, checked with waitress if I could have some drinks on the 2floor, got confirmed and went upstairs and looking a table to sit down, no one was hosting 2floor ejther. A gentleman with a suit ( maybe manager ) right behind stopped me sitting down and said this is dining only near in that areas. I tried to explain to him I was told ok from the staff, he said no and downstairs gave wrong information. Didn't seems care anyway. Walked to downstairs and asking if that true and told to take a sit downstairs then. <br/><br/>70% tables are available from both floor and rejected a customer after a couple of drinks and maybe some food later. Not hard to never go back and take the small business you didn't care to anywhere near your place. <br/><br/>

Excellent food and gorgeous view. The Blue Eye and Lamb Loin were delicious and beautifully presented. Good service and extensive drinks list. Decor and floor plan is lovely. We will definitely return!

Pure South Dining thrilled guests with a taste of King Island on Friday last week. The evening’s menu was inspired by this year’s King Island Long Table, a grassroots festival that celebrates the island’s unique produce. Pure South’s chefs, staff and owners play a key part in the festival each year, designing menus and running masterclasses.

Surprisingly disappointing. <br/>We have been here on and off over the years and usually take overseas visitors there to showcase modern Australian cuisine. Upstairs is quieter than downstairs but the ambience is not as intimate as in the past. The drinks list is excellent and contains a lot of the new Australian craft spirits, particularly gins and a very good selection of Tasmania pinot noir. The starters were particularly good especially the artichoke dish and the fresh oysters. The main courses were somewhat lackluster, the wallaby was certainly tougher than it should be. There was a good selection of Tasmanian cheeses but a paucity of desert wines by the glass. The waiter service was quite slow but the food was served in a reasonable time frame. It may just have been a bad night so will give it the benefit of the doubt.

Fantastic place to catch up with friends or to go on a date. This restaurant is facing the Yarra river. It has good views. Great place for people watching as it's in the heart of Southbank. Fabulous champagne and wines. The food was great too. Many choices to choose from. We loved the friendly and welcoming vibe and ambience. We were served and welcomed by very attentive and professional staff. They made us feel comfortable. I recommend it to others and I will be back soon.

Great fresh local produce make this a great place to dine. The cocktails are refreshing, decor is tasteful and service is friendly. Highly recommended.

My new found love along the Southbank riverside. The “window seat” is a perfect spot for people watching while enjoying a good breakfast. Their take on the avocado & toast was on point. I also love that they make their own fresh juices! Service has been consistent and I’m starting to be a regular - I’m looking forward to try their dinner one night - menu sounds inviting.

Great night here with friends... amazing food, although for the pricing I would say serving sizes are a little small. ... also lighting upstairs can be quite dingy (cant see what your eating)... This place is a MUST.
Millie
If you asked me on my first experience at PSD, i would have given it 5/5, upstairs food and staff make the experience worth the cost, as well as the gorgeous views you get. Would 10/10 recommend the chefs tour. However, my second time around was much more disappointing. We were downstairs, the cut of steak was average, and the waiter we were fortunate enough to had didn't have the best people skills. In saying all of that, no matter what dessert you get at PSD, whether it is up or downstairs, it honestly is to die for. Find myself just coming here for dessert, you will not be disappointed.

On a balmy warm weeknight, Melbourne certainly looked great from this perch above the Yarra. We booked only on the day, and on arrival the host advised we had been assigned a banquette, but he would like to seat us at a table in the main part of the restaurant. He asked if we were happy to wait at the bar - we were, and the friendly bar staff kept us entertained. We were quickly moved to our table, and continued to be impressed with the standard of attentive but non obtrusive service. We had come to enjoy Tasmanian cuisine and were not let down: most of the classic Tasmanian favourites were on both the food and wine menus. We chose oysters (of course); a delicate home made wagyu pastrami; white fish (that day blue eye) with mussels, pearl couscous and eel (superb); and a perfectly prepared scotch fillet + sides. The highlight of the meal was a bottle of Home Hill Pinot Noir which was no where near cheap but worth every, beautifully decanted drop. We finished off with a selection of cheeses, served with hot fruit toast (seemed odd but worked) and suitable accompaniments. It most certainly was not an inexpensive night, but it was a special occasion so we were up for that. This place felt like it has struck the right balance - you could pop in for a main and glass of wine and walk out feeling it was good value (mains around $35), or pump it up to a big night out. It's not revolutionary, but it is very comfortable in its skin. A perfect spot to take visitors - something for everyone.

really friendly staff<br/>nice ambiance and good river view<br/>chief‘tour is great, especially the scallops<br/>It would be better if there is music around.<br/>Lastly it can be more foreigner-friendly on menu

Special occasions are supposed to be special because of the company but the cherry on the cake is the effort your partner puts-in to make it even more special....Only reason why Pure South Dinning is special to us. <br/><br/>After reserving a ' table with the view' way in advance we were unpleasantly surprised to be escorted to a 'table with no view' by a very warm and welcoming hostess. Only after we shared our booking details she managed to give us a table 'which was the best she could offer' because all the other tables were occupied by other patrons. So we finally had a table with a beautiful view for one and a partial view for the other. <br/><br/>We ordered a cider and a South African wine. Our charming hostess for the evening suggested few things based on our personal likes and we know what we were going to order. Grass Fed Beef with Caramelised Cauliflower and A Rare-cooked Wallaby with pepperberry sauce for mains and Scallops for the entre (totally forgot the name). We had ordered a sauteed Broccoli as a side to go with our mains. <br/>We were served a complimentary basket of freshly baked breads with butter. <br/><br/>Grass fed Beef and the Scallops were the dishes of the day@ The beef meat was so tender and moist that it would just melt in the mouth. The most difficult thing is to cook Scallops....A bit more and it'll turn chewy and a little less and it will taste raw...But this was done to a perfection. The accompanying sauces were simple and very flavorful. <br/><br/>In fact, the Rare -cooked Wallaby was also very very nice but the accompanying sauce was a lackluster. It lacked flavors, thus, making the whole dish unappetizing. <br/><br/>You will either love Pure South Dinning; which specialises in Australian cuisine made from ingredients sourced from Tasmania, and in our case, it is very evident from the ratings, we.didnt quite like it. Even when the food was superb there was nothing exceptional about the dishes they served. Although a fine diner, dishes lacked 'uniqueness'.... Something which could stand out or personify Pure South Dinning's Essence. Reason enough to reveal that the experience wasn't worth the penny spent<br/><br/>Service was worth appreciating....Kind, warm and helpful. <br/><br/><br/><br/>

Satisfactory but not excellent. Good and fair meal just before tennis at Australian open. The service was good. Meal a little rushed. Salmon was filling. Satisfactory and reasonable quality food.

Ordered oysters, the potato croquettes for share and main octopus and parpadelle between myself and partner.<br/><br/>Oysters are great - creamy <br/>Croquettes - good and especially the cheese custard !<br/>Octopus - nice and charred ; love the taste but not worth the price<br/>Parpadelle - nice fresh pasta but no taste ( bland) and the black garlic sauce didn't hit the spot <br/><br/>My overall rating is that it's not worthy of what the melbourne food scene is all about ; it has the view ie Yarra river etc but please don't be a Sydney with a pretensious vibe<br/>
The Modern Gourmand
When one chooses an establishment for dinner, or indeed lunch, there are typically three ways in which the decision is made. One, proper and in-depth research; perusing menu’s online and running through them with a fine tooth comb until, finally, you are forced by an unequivocal temptation that you just cannot pass up.

Been there in the New Years Night and it was very great! Enough baarkeepers for drinking and eating! A Very delicious menus for a good price. The room in the upper level was very nice! It’s a must have in Melbourne!

Disclaimer: came here for work dinner so can’t comment on value for money.<br/><br/>Focus on ingredients is clear. Everything was excellent but Oysters were the standout. Tartare and kingfish also recommended. Service attentive and warm. <br/><br/>Try the Oysters!

On a lovely Summer day you want to be sitting on the outside facing bar seats.  Watching the world go by, sipping a cool drink and (if you're like me) eating some delicious octopus. The food was fresh and the staff were friendly.  Would go here again.
Will Golosinda
First time I visited this place, I did not like the food. The stake came out cold and was not impressed with the soggy fries as well.<br/><br/>Came back tonight and tried to get an outside seating to see if any of their other dishes will impress... I got turned away because I came with my dog and tried to sit outside. The restaurant manager seems to be appalled with dogs so he won’t allow even with outside seating... there goes their last chance... I was going to give them another try but that bad attitude just made my mind.<br/><br/>These people have average food for the money they charge... quite pretentious, and lastly, they do not like dogs... not even at outdoor seating. Thanks fo making that clear. Never coming back.

Situated on the prime Southbank waterfront, Pure South charges premium prices for the view, and markedly averaged food.<br/>While the ingredients were undeniably of high quality and incredibly fresh, the execution left much to be desired and definitely doesn’t warrant the price tag.

Highlight: Lamb and the atmosphere. <br/><br/>Great location and good spot for an after work drink <br/>and dinner. Recommend the 'feed me option' so that you get to taste a bit of everything on the menu.
Little Pink Piggy
Had dinner here on a Saturday night with my partner. We made an early reservation for 6pm and they seated us at one of the tables overlooking the water. We promised to vacate asap due to another booking for the table later on. I ordered half a dozen oyesters to start. They were small but fresh. My partner commented on how creamy the butter on the complementary bread was! We ordered a steak, the lamb loins and sides of brocollini and mixed leaves. My lamb serving was tiny but I enjoyed it nevertheless. My partners steak was very fatty which was disappointing for a $50 dish! The sides were beautiful. Service was attentive. Expected the food to be of better quality and bigger serves. The 3.5 overall rating for Pure South is pretty much spot on.

We had the pleasure of dining at Pure South Dining Upstairs on a Sunday afternoon.  The service was as close as one can get to impeccable - staff were attentive and warm whilst remaining extremely professional.  We had a lovely table at the corner of two large windows overlooking Southbank - beautiful views, even if the weather was less than perfect!  The menu here showcases the best that Tasmania, Flinders Island and King Island has to offer, with emphasis on the different areas that the produce come from.  Every dish is executed perfectly in terms of aesthetics and of course taste.  We had an exceptional experience here and would highly recommend.

The friendliest waitress ever! Very attentive and polite. Portion sizes were big! Coffee good. The eggs were just a tad salty, but overall pretty good.
Ann
Have visited pure south a few times and have always ordered the steak which is cooked lovely. The service here is always consistent however some waiters can be quite pushy at times. The location of pure south is very romantic and it's a great place to catch up with friends for a few wines or with that special someone for a date.
Passion For Food
High end restaurant in Melbourne's South Bank precinct, just around the corner from Hamer Hall. Two seperate sections (downstairs casual restaurant and bar, upstairs high end restaurants). Amazing location and view as the sun set in Melbourne.<br/><br/>Staff very attentative and quick to clear plates and fill water glasses<br/><br/>Recently renovated, the upstairs restaurant was very beautiful. Fresh bread (albeit not warmed) was provided. Mains ($30-$48) were mixed in quality, with the King Island beef check incredibly tender and delicious, whilst the King Island scotch fillet was dry and burned, and the Tasmanian Line-caught white fish was bland. <br/><br/>As serving sizes aren't enormous, it's best to order a couple of sides. The chips and mixed leaves salads were very generous.<br/><br/>Desserts ($16) are intriguing, but not essential. The hay infused ice cream is half savoury, half sweet whilst the raspberry sorbet and licorice cake seemed a bit over powering.<br/><br/>Ultimately, a pleasant night out of pre-theatre dining. <br/><br/>Tip: Upon entering, don't fall for the trap of "sparkling or still" but instead ask for tap water if you don't want to pay extra.
Clare
A large and well renovated space with attentive staff and good food. We were seated downstairs and had a pram happily accommodated for. The food was great. I had the lamb and it was fantastically tender and tasty. The price and portions didn't seem to match the decor 100%, but I would love to come back during the summer for a Sunday sesh when the windows are open downstairs. As for a nice night out, I'd potentially pick elsewhere as I prefer a slightly different vibe.

Came here tonight with my brother and sister to celebrate his return from OS. We started with some sparkling wine (by the glass!) which was lovely but quite expensive.<br/>We were given some complimentary bread to start with, which is ALWAYS a big tick in my book! <br/>For Mains, my brother and I had the Wallaby and my sister had the vegetarian 'special'- which wasn't on the menu and apparently the chef puts it together on request. While I truly appreciate the gesture, there really should be at least 1 vegetarian main on the menu! It's 2017. <br/>The Wallaby was delicious! And not actually very expensive! I was pretty delighted with it! <br/>We also got some sides- the carrots and beetroot with sumac yoghurt and some chips. <br/>We finished with a cheese board. It wasn't too bad however there were 3 of us and only 2 scones and 2 pieces of fruit bread, which I think is always an oversight. The cheeses were nice, small in portion though, and the cheddar was actually quite dry. <br/>We had a very enjoyable night, though. <br/>The service was good and the waitstaff were lovely and the atmosphere is gorgeous- overlooking the Yarra river!
Jarrod Marrinon
Really disappointing. My fiancé and I ordered the salt and peeper squid and it was bad. It was tough and tasteless as there seemed to be no seasoning despite being SALT AND PEPPER squid. It also lacked any type of garnish. Not even for looks. If McDonald's were to ever have a seafood promotion they would do better. Not going back

I went here a month back for lunch with a friend. The sun was our so it seemed like a good day to occupy their balcony style seating. <br/>Their breakfast menu on weekends goes up to 3pm which is great. I remember ordering scrambled eggs on toast whereas my friend had the ploughmans platter which was in the large section. <br/><br/>He ended up getting a dismally sized medium meal with two slices of dry toast, some weak tasting shredded meat, ham, some pickle, a small block of cheese, some tangy jam. He didn't enjoy his meal and thought it was overly priced at 28 <br/><br/>My scrambled eggs were fluffy and yellow and toast was nice but the eggs were average. Nothing spesh. Coffees were nice. Great views. Quick service. But food is nothing special.
Intrepid Traveller
I tried Pure South a few months back and and had a somewhat enjoyable experience so I decided to give it another go. Unfortunately this visit was sub par - possibly a different chef tonight ?<br/><br/>We decided to share a few dishes and I must say there wasn't a stand out.<br/><br/>The Smoked Huon Ocean Trout Taco was disappointing - the smoked trout was a puréed, and I don't think it was represented this way on the menu. Overly creamy and quite bland in the flavour department.<br/><br/>The Hardy Family Octopus was cooked ok, tender and tasty, it was served with paperdelle, and a grape and basil sauce. The basil was overpowering and wasn't a good match. Not recommended.<br/><br/>The Flinders Island pasture fed Wallaby was overcooked which rendered it quite tough. The beetroot sauce was a nice match but it's a shame that it wasn't cooked medium rare as per my last meal.<br/><br/>The cured and smoked line caught Kingfish was probably the best dish of the night. Nice flavours however a very small serving.<br/><br/>We ordered a side order of twice cooked chips - they arrived cold and somewhat undercooked. <br/><br/>The waiter on the night didn't do a great job highlighting the menu and the food origins / restaurant ethos as we had experienced in our earlier visit. <br/><br/>
Age&#039;n&#039;Tise
We came here for lunch, it was really lovely food. Ribs were tender, beef tartare was delicious. The sliders were much bigger than expected, the meat was very tender but was missing a punch of flavour. We also ordered oysters and salt and pepper squid (not pictured) very nice lunch, probably a bit on the pricey side but it's Southbank after all.

Venue is big and spacious.<br/>I ordered a hotcake from the breakfast menu and it takes a while to came out. The hotcake was at room temperature or even warm, and it was not moist and more to dry.

I really enjoyed my recent experience at this restaurant. I went with a few of my friends for a celebration dinner, we all had the 6 course chef's tour. Each dish was absolutely delicious (only negative is that a few dishes may have been bit too generous for a 6 course meal). I am not normally a fan of pork but the pork belly was divine, and whatever the carrot side was for the beef cheek was the best thing I have ever had in my mouth! It is a great way to taste different dishes that you wouldn't normally order. The service was fantastic and the view from our table upstairs was lovely. Great food, Great service and Great atmosphere. I would definitely recommend!

Came here to celebrate my birthday dinner celebration. No one leads us to the stairs as they just said my table is at upstairs . We came in a group of 5 Girls, the waiter who is in charged our table , he showed a sign of annoying and doesn't smile at all when he takes our order. Also , when we needs for service he kinda seems like doesn't wanna come to services us . <br/><br/>We had ordered kingfish w peas & mint , octopus , beef cheek , lamb loin and scotch fillet to share . The lamb was perfectly cooked and nice. Octopus and kingfish was just alright nothing really special or amazes us . However, the beef cheek was mint , it blends well w the carrots and some ingredients. <br/><br/>For desserts we had Anvers dark chocolate brownie , pan Acosta and cheese cake . The cheese cake wasn't the type of cheese cake I was expecting but overall the taste was alright so I have nothing to complain about it . <br/><br/>To sum up , I like the ambiance and the food there but i don't like the waiter who served us that night , like we came here to enjoyed our dinner celebration . Even though u don't like to work on a public holiday then don't showed me your annoying & irritating face while serving us . I won't come back again because all of us agreed that the service did not meet the requirements of the restro and how it should be .

Being situated next to the Yarra River with city views is a wonderful bonus. That being said, high expectations come for any restaurant positioned in such an extravagant location particularly with great neighbouring competition.<br/>The atmosphere was spacious with a modern business-like feel. A large sized upper floor allowed for guests to have their own private space away from foreign conversations. Lights were dimmed giving a comforting feel but also illuminated the outside city views.<br/>Our waiter was friendly and helpful, very formal but also enjoyed a polite laugh occasionally.<br/>I ordered the pork belly dish as my main with a shared plate of carrots that came served with soft goats cheese and a crunchy crumb. Whilst the side dish was simple but tasty, I found that my main lacked. The dish was presented nicely however the pork itself was slightly tough and surrounding ingredients all tasted similar. It would have been nice to have something fresh served with the dish that tied everything together. That being said, everyone else on the table enjoyed their mains. For dessert I ordered the creme brulee that was highly recommended by the waiter as "simple but classic". The dessert was exactly as described, but almost a little too simple. For the price you pay at this restaurant you expect something to stand out, sadly nothing did. I finished the evening with an espresso martini that was much too sweet.<br/>Overall I had a nice experience, the food was good but not excellent in comparison to other fine dining restaurants. I would return by invite but not on my own accord. A restaurant with so much competition needs to have a unique attraction.<br/>

Came here with some friends for a Sunday brunch and had a wonderful time. The huge restaurant provided lots of seating in the bright and spacious ground floor.<br/><br/>Firstly, the food and coffee were great. I had the mushroom breakfast dish, which was a generous portion of a variety of mushrooms on two slices of bread with an egg. The only downside was the 'fried' egg (it looked half fried half poached?) was overcooked and not very runny. The mushrooms were delicious though, and went perfectly with the toast.<br/><br/>Secondly, the service was just as good - they were all very friendly and attentive. The wait time for both the coffee and food was reasonable, and our water was replaced without us having to request it. The only negative would be their strange way of splitting bills, in which the entire bill was printed out and each patron had to work out what they had ordered (maths!) and then let the waiter know how much they were paying. Whilst it is great that the restaurant does allow 'split' bills, it was so clunky it was a bit frustrating.<br/><br/>Overall a very nice experience with some tasty food!

We came here with high expectations and were let down from the start. We seemed like a bother that we appeared on arrival and it did not change much throughout. An all Tasmanian menu was the draw card for us and the menu looked promising, but was rather hit and miss. A filled dining room created a noisy, bistro style atmosphere, where you are rushed in and out quickly. Which a quite a popular trend at the moment. However long wait for food had very much the opposite effect. Something different next time.

Came here for breakfast. This place was renovated in Dec 2016 to split the fine dining onto upstairs, and more casual breakfast/lunch place downstairs. It's popular on a Saturday morning, and so it takes a while for the food to arrive. The Tasmanian pie was smaller than expected, but very tasty. The hotcake is big, and yummy. The salmon croissant also very special.

Had a wonderful valentines dinner here. The cutout is gorgeous as are the views and the food was very well executed. Scallops were perfect and the raspberry cheesecakey dessert was divine. The little amuse bouche was also very good and a nice touch. The lamb was a bit underdone for my liking but my dining companion liked it. Keep it up pure south we will be back to try some other things.

Most TERRIBLE experience we have EVER had. Our once every 6 months mum catch up ended up been served a bowl of chips for our main!!! We waited over 2 hours for our meal with not one waiter apologising or updating us where our meal was! BUT THE WORST was they had the cheek to whack us with the full bill on our table after we ended up cancelling our food at 10:40pm I might add as we had to get back to our paid baby sitters. The food was also very average over cooked and untasteful
Missmelbourne
Went for breakfast since the renovation. We ordered basic breakfasts - scrambled eggs. The eggs were ridiculously runny, the bread provided was partially burnt with no butter. Taste was average and presentation was extremely poor. Avoid for breakfast, even if the people watching opportunity is what's drawing you to the restaurant.

To begin with, located beside the yarra river at south bank, the expectations for the quality of food is utmost important. This is especially true for the level of price they charge. Spending a $100 dollar a meal with drinks is easy. <br/><br/>That being said, Pure South Dining greeted us, a group of 10, with a great smile as the waitress seat us on a long table. Menus were placed on the table for our convenience and off we go as we hunt for our desirable dish for dinner that night. <br/><br/>With a group of 10, taking orders would be quite a hassle. While some are ready to go, others may still be indecisive up to making the order and changing last minute. <br/><br/>What's great was the waitress was very patient with us. No signs of annoyance. No signs of irritation. Fantastic service. <br/><br/>Here comes the food. I had the lamb, the rest of the table had steaks for their main. Well, steaks were cooked as desired for each diner. No complaints. <br/><br/>The lamb, while the flavours were there and that the doneness was on point, the presentation lacked. For a foodie, presentation is first impression. It was rather messy than sophisticated I must say. Failing to impress at first sight means a hell of a work after to make up for. <br/><br/>With nothing more than a good taste, it wouldn't be the best I have had. Not amazing, no wow factor.<br/><br/>Would I come back? Unlikely.

A very pleasant dinner out but didn't quite measure up to expectations. For starters I think the venue lacked atmosphere. At the very least the tables could do with tables cloths. Aside from that, the menu is very refined and offers a wide range of sophisticated dishes. For starters we shared the kingfish sashimi and steak tartare. The sashimi was fabulous and I loved the distinct sesame oil. The tartare was a major let down though. Was far too sweet and completely lacked seasoning. For mains we shared the lamb and the pork belly. Both mains were very tasty. We also shared the tomato salad as a side- this was a little lacklustre with the tomatoes being slightly mushy and overripe. Overall a nice dinner but certainly not perfect.

We went here for a family members birthday. The service was excellent, our waiter explained  the menu to us. We were told that if we wanted any of the smaller dishes at the top of the menu in a larger size they could let the kitchen know, good to know as some of those sounded amazing but were a little on the small side for a main, but, ideal if you wanted them as an entree. <br/>The mains we had were all excellent. Beef cheek was falling apart and beautifully flavoured and moist. The fish of the day was king fish which was good to perfection with a lovely pan fried crust on the top. The lamb loin was succulent and served with blackberries and purple carrot and looked absolutely stunning. The pork belly was perfect and had the best crackling ever. <br/>We had a portion of twice cooked chips which was enough to share with 2 people.<br/>For dessert our party had cheesecake, creme brulee and a cheese platter. <br/>Again the desserts were perfect but if I was go again the creme brulee was the clear winner, the texture was silky smooth and the topping had the lovely hard sugary crust that you expect from a creme brulee. The vanilla flavour was beautiful, so glad this restaurant sticks with a traditional creme brulee. <br/>I love the open kitchen and like to see everyone working together to get the food out to the restaurant. They work hard in the kitchen, they did a great job and everything we had looked and tasted amazing, I really want to say thanks to the kitchen staff for their efforts. <br/>I felt it was a very relaxed environment with a good amount of space between tables. A great experience and highly recommended, this place is well worth a visit.

Food all came together, beef short rib was cold outside warm inside, and very salty. Twice cooked chips was not that crunch. Stuffed chicken wing was no special. Service was good, it definitely a great location for catching up drinks with friends rather than a good spot for food.

After taking a leave of absence for the better half of last year and a million $ reno, we finally headed to the restaurant to see what the fuss was all about. <br/><br/>The vibe of the place prior to the refurb was quite formal, high end fine dining Tassie produce focused diner, now it’s a confusion between whether it's a fine dining or a casual diner, the food/prices would suggest it’s a fine dining establishment, however the decor, the alfresco windows (albeit fantastic looking) the over use of concrete everywhere, which makes the place very noisy which would suggest it’s a casual restaurant (expensive restaurant). <br/><br/>Anyway, cutting to the chase and focusing on the food, the Octopus and the beef tartare were an absolute hit, while the St Helens oysters were underwhelming and the Wagyu pastrami was just average. For the mains most of us chose the Scotch fillet (it was a solid 4/5), while one of us fell for the “ikejime” blue cod fish (google it, can’t be bothered ? Ok it’s a fishing technique which includes line catching the fish, putting it in the similar water conditions until its ready to be ‘dispatched from this world’ and then using a needle to destroy the spinal cord of the fish just so the fish doesn’t get stressed in the process) Anyway it was a lovely story, but de-stressed fish?! In a blindfold taste test would you be able to tell? Or is it just a feel good factor while eating the fish? It wasn’t really for me (3/5). The Tassie wine and beer selection along with the other regions was well represented so we kept up to the theme and only had Tassie all the way. The service was otherwise un faulted, except for the long wait to take our drinks order.<br/><br/>All and all, if you are looking to sample the best of Tassie produce on a plate, definitely make a visit. If you are after a fine dining/formal dinner, I would be looking elsewhere.

Really disappointing. The old restaurant and old menu was spectacular. The new menu is over priced and portions are far too small. I'm really disappointed as this was my go to place for a nice lunch
Amy
Beautiful interior, attentive service, flavourful food. There were, however, small portions which were difficult to share with a group. The beef cheek was fantastic as were the (very tiny) tacos. I love the concept of Tasmanian food and would love to go back and eat more next time.

Recently reopened from renovations this restaurant showcases fine Tasmanian produce. Great service and beautiful food. I was surprised that the prices were reasonable for the experience and quality. We had 3 courses and wine for $100 per person. The Huon Salmon with pea smash was my favourite. Worth the visit.

What a spot! Perfect place to people watch for hours on the river. The staff are so friendly and hospitable here, I will come here time and time again when visiting Melbourne from Sydney.

My girlfriend and I looked at the menu and we both couldn't decipher what it meant, there was no indication of size (or whether it was an entree or main) and the menus were completely different to what was advertised outside. Service was bad and slow even though there were few guests to serve upstairs. However, the most disappointing aspect was the miniscule food servings in comparison to the price. I am not a massive eater, but I could have finished two mains and still have been hungry. To add to the disappointment, my girlfriend ordered the squid (priced at $21) and upgraded it to a main, the restaurant charged an extra $12 and we received half a cup of squid (shredded may I add), a sliver of avocado and a spoonful of tartar. While the squid had a strange texture to it, nothing on the plate warranted an extra $12 when the $21 price already called for more than was given. I also do not recommend the pork belly as half of it was pure fat, nor can I suggest to order anything else as even the chips were given in stingy proportions. I know that fine dining is not about proportions and perhaps moreso about experience, but there are much better options out there in terms of good food, good service, good price and a good experience. Do yourself a favour and eat your dinner elsewhere.
Daniel Richards
Shocked by tiny meal portions and huge price. <br/>Promised we could split bill by staff as we entered, then told we couldn't do this when we wanted to pay. This forced us to visit ATMs in order to pay. <br/>Christmas work drinks ruined. <br/>Do not go here.

Just finished up a work breakfast meeting here and it was lovely! The restaurant design with alfresco windows that open to the whole of Southbank make for a lovely dining experience, waitresses were attentive and the food did not take long to come out as others have stated. 45degree poached eggs were perfect and served with quality gluten free sourdough (always appreciated). My piccolo latte was faultless. Will definitely be returning! Serves we're on the small size (others comments not my own) but enough for me! So happy to finally have an all day brunch option and quality restaurant/cafe so close to work :)
Pitted4Lyf
A nice breakfast setting. Not amazing, but does the job.<br/><br/>I had the avocado with poached eggs and mushrooms, which was enjoyable without being great. The coffee is good.<br/><br/>The setting is probably the highlight, right on the Yarra, great for people watching.
Food And Drink Melbourne
I have long wanted to dine at Pure South and was stoked to get the chance to have a late lunch there on a beautiful summer’s day at the end of my holidays. The idea of sustainable produce sourced from Tasmania, King Island and Flinders Island is wonderful to me, a lover of Tasmania, but a foodie in Melbourne. Pure South has been recently renovated, with a bar and all-day eatery at river level and a dining room above with views over the Yarra River of the city.

Because of the set up this place it is a bit confusing- whether it's a fine dining or a casual place, don't know what to think - it's something in between.<br/><br/>We came here for lunch, since they do all day breakfast I ordered mushrooms with sourdough and fried egg, and my gf went for the wallaby dish with scrambled eggs and sourdough. Both the dishes were done well. I somehow felt there was something missing in the mushrooms dish but it's a small complaint.i loved the fact that the dish came with so many different mushrooms.<br/><br/>For dessert we had panacotta which was Devine and deconstructed cheese cake. The cheese cake was delish with so many raspberries to balance the richness of the cheese and crackers to add some texture. I liked the citrus flavours of the panacotta and the texture, just the right wobble.<br/><br/>Overall pure South dining is a good family restaurant for some decent food and service.

More staff than customers and still had coffee forgotten about. Then finally came to us after we asked but cold. Simple bacon and eggs not so great had to pick up food with fingers to redesign how it sits on the plate just to eat it. No butter on the bread. Never going back.

I have been here a number of times for both lunch and dinner(not in the same day mind you!) and i have never been disappointed, whether it is just 2 or a group of about 20, the food is consistently delicious and lots of great wine! Love the outdoor area where you can sit and watch the world go by as you dine. Service has always been great, even when just walking in without a booking. This place is a little gem in the averageness that is common along the Southbank tourist strip

Well, if you are actually hungry, probably best to try elsewhere. The fit out of the restaurant is nice, lots of space, not too noisy, but the compliments stop there. <br/>We waited approx 35 minutes to have our order taken, our coffees came out staggered, some of us had to wait a lot longer than the rest of the group. Some 1.5 hours later our breakfast meals came out, and they were wrong. I Asked for gluten free toast with my eggs, but received eggs on regular toast, and a side plate of gluten free bread....sorry what??!! The eggs were virtually raw, the whites were not even cooked through, and avo was not ripe and not edible. We are completely understanding of busy periods and waiting times (which it was not), however in the 1.5 hours no one staff member bothered to attend to us to ask if we wanted more drinks, or even to apologise for the wait. I even had to get up and go to the bar to ask for cutlery, salt and pepper. Seriously appalling and disappointing. as our plates were cleared the waited didn't even bother to speak a word to us, not to ask if the meal was OK, or to offer anything else. Unbelievable.

1. Extensive wine list (even gotta an index page);<br/>2. Trout tacos are nice;<br/>3. Dining environment is good easy to talk to ppl as enough space and privacy between each table;<br/>4. Main tasted the "stress free" white fish, lamb lion, was alright, not as memorable as tacos;<br/>5. Staff styles suit the theme of the diner - layback, mannish?...

5 of us walked in for lunch today. Waved down waiter to take our order. Waited 40-45 mins for our food to arrive. Food was tiny tiny drop on a big plate. If you eat like a tiny bird, you may like it. But value for money, No! When our food arrived to our table, we had to look for cutleries.. our water not topped up the whole 2 hours we were at the restaurant. Then we made another mistake by ordering desserts. We waited another 30-35 mins. The location of this restaurant is good if you are happy to just hang out and wait and wait for your food!! Oh.. the restaurant manager should try smiling during service instead of scowling at customers.

Very disappointing! I turned up at interval<br/>For the opera and got a table here after finding several places nearby fully booked. Unfortunately it became obvious why this place was half empty. Don't come here if you are hungry. This serves arty crap nicely arranged on a plate but the flavor is not there, nor will you get enough to fill you up. My main sized<br/>Scallops had 8 scallops a could of pinky nail sized mushroom and a artistic 'sea green' leaf or<br/>Two. Got a cup full (literally) of chips for 8$. Overpriced pretentious food.<br/>Left hungry to go buy an ice cream.<br/><br/>

After a delightful meal early in the year, we returned to Pure South for a special occasion.  When we arrived it wasn't there!  We were not informed of the move when booking on the phone.  After following the poor instructions as to where their temporary place was, we finally found it.  The front of house people said sorry but that was it.  We ordered the beef cheek, which was OK, and the lamb loin, which was such a tiny serve on a full size plate that we thought it was entree!  It tasted quite nice but it was so little it was hard to tell.  The lettuce leaves and small serve of chips didn't really make us feel we had been out to dinner.  We shared the Eclair dessert, which didn't have much flavour.  The service was friendly and polite.  Very disappointed.

I was more than positively surprised at 7000 with their offering, attention to detail and passion for the culinary arts. I feel in love with the all-Tassie concept and the perfect execution of their menu. If you have not been - it's a 'MUST'! Thanks to the team there - we fell in love! Southbank. Yes. Yes you potentially have to run the gauntlet of bike vs human, but I promise, there’s a gem in there that’s worth it.<br/> Showing off spectacular Tasmanian produce in the world's most liveable city? Yep, you need to go. More on the blog.

A very special dining experience with first rate service. To fully enjoy that experience, do be prepared to spend north of $150pp, including drinks, but worth every penny.

7000 by Pure South Dining (“PSD”) is a temporary test kitchen located on the upper level of Southgate precinct, occupying the space formerly owned by Walters Wine Bar. The test kitchen will remain open whilst the venue’s hatted sister restaurant, Pure South Dining, undergoes renovations to become a larger, more diverse restaurant and bar venue.

Pure south was one of the food flops of the year. As a hatted restaurant, we were expecting great things, but were nothing short of disappointed.<br/><br/>From the moment we walked in, it was almost impossible to wave down a waitress. She was lovely once we got her attention, but we were lucky if she even walked past her table.<br/><br/>I won't go into too much detail about the food. Generally, my observations were that the portions were small and that every dish was cold by the time it arrived at our table (the elusive waitress?) The slow cooked beef cheek deserves a special mention for all the wrong reasons - it had a strange and unpleasant odour on top of being dry and tough - the opposite to everything a beef cheek should be. We couldn't eat it for that reason. I definitely yearned for some sweetness and stickiness<br/><br/>I can't imagine that Pure South served such food when a hat was awarded to it. Hopefully they were just having an off day, because it was far from a pleasant experience.<br/>
The Critic's Critic
One of Southgate's finest restaurants, Pure South serves up fresh produce that is quite delightful. Produce is sourced from Southern parts of Australia and served nicely at that. Service is good as well. Been here on numerous occasions, it has delivered each time
Mistermister
Lovely oysters and entrees. The mains are good. Sirloin was slightly tough. Nice Monday night feed with some local entertainment outside for tourists. The service on the other hand was rushed - the place was only 1/4 full. Rushed to take our plates away. Asked twice of we wanted dessert. Took the chips away before we had finished them and then gave the bill when we still had half a glass left. It wasn't like it was closing soon as it was only 9pm. We didn't put money in the bill folder as we hadn't finished yet and the waiter checked it twice to see if we had made payment. I get efficiency, but it was ridiculous to the point of comical. We wouldn't be back.

Pure South Dining is a wonderful showcase for the best Tasmanian produce available...certainly gets a tick of approval from me. One or two dishes on the night were perhaps lacking a little something to make them pop, but others more than made up for it. Well prepared and tasty food, featuring terrific Tazzie produce with great friendly staff really make this a wonderful place to visit and is without doubt Southgate's flagship fine dining venue and worthy of it's chef hat.

Great day out, wonderful service and a tremendous array of food. Such a fresh menu. Both my parents are regular visitors to Tasmania and loved the experience at Pure South. Well done.

Came here for a lovely dinner. Service was wonderful, all the staff were helpful and friendly. Food was presented beautifully. Kingfish entree wasn't overly nice but the mains of gnocchi and beef cheek were good. Gnocchi was under flavoured and a little over cooked but was still very enjoyable. Had a wonderful dinner although for the price I was hoping for something a little more.

Fabulous venue great views. Very lovely Tasmanian produce. The salmon was superb. We had a function in the separate dining room and we well looked after by the very professional staff.

1 hatted restaurant on AGFG and excellent service. The restaurant uses high quality and seasonal Tasmanian ingredients for their dishes. Value for money weekday lunch menu, 2 course for $39 and 3 course for $49. Loved their house bread and butter, beef pastrami and the recommended roast pork was cooked to perfection too. The only let down was the small portion for the main dish, but overall it was an enjoyable lunch.

I’ve eaten at, and reviewed, Pure South previously – December 2011 to be precise.  This visit coincided with our last night in Melbourne prior to moving to Tasmania and we thought it appropriate to dine at a restaurant that showcases Tasmanian produce.  We have not eaten here since the most recent change of chef so it was also a chance to see how the place has changed.   The food is still excellent – hubby and I both opted for the beetroot bavarois from the appetiser list and we both agreed it was exquisite.  I’m not sure I’d call it a bavarois though, more like a quenelle, but that is mere semantics. The smoked Mountain River yoghurt was a tasty accompaniment to the flavours and textures of the bavarois and the crunchy bits of pickled beetroot.   For main course, hubby had the Flinders Island lamb, which he thought was “wonderful”.  I went for the Mount Gnomon pork loin which was also very tasty, with a nice crunchy crackling. Although I thought the selection of kohlrabi and baby turnip was more suitable to a winter dish than the middle of summer.  We shared a very crisp and fresh mixed leaf salad on the side.  For dessert, hubby chose the pumpkin mousse, which sounded unusual but worked very well.  I was a little more conventional in my choice and had the lemon myrtle pannacotta, which was light and fresh with a subtle lemony flavour.  <br/><br/>Service was good and the whole experience was a very pleasant way to celebrate our last night in Melbourne.<br/><br/>BUT..... a minor rant – Where in Australia do you find “new season asparagus” in January?  Certainly not in Tasmania.  I really think that item needs to slip quietly from the menu.

Good food and very good service but it was pricey for what you were given. Reasonable wine list. Nice atmosphere if you sit outside, we just turned up on a Monday evening and got a great table out front.

The whole experience was perfect! The service was fantastic and the waiters were very polite! Within an hour, we had already finished our mains and awaiting the deserts. It was very well priced as well and had some very good options to choose from. Will definitely go there again and recommend to my friends and family.

Great restaurant, we first came here about 8 years ago after our wedding registration. The fact that it is still here and nearly packed mid-week is testament to how good it is. Definitely go for the seafood selections - the cured kingfish, pan fried scallops. They also do a perfectly cooked medium rare scotch fillet.<br/><br/>18/11/19 update - still serving excellent food. Try the crab pie hors d'oeuvre too.
