Review Rooftop At Qt - Melbourne

George Slavchev
Possibly, one of the nicest rooftops in the city. Service is good and cocktails are all reasonable at around $23. There’s an indoor and an outdoor area — both really nice. Staff are good and attentive too. The QT attracts a mixed crowd, which sometimes can be bothersome, but, as a whole, it’s a great venue.

Attended an event there last Friday. What a great space. Haylee & Corbin were great organizers. Wait staff were always smiling as they provided food and drinks across the venue throughout the night. I look forward to holding my next event there later in the year.
Rebecca Stroud
Great fun for an organised birthday party. Very loud but great view and awesome atmosphere. Staff were very attentive and lovely.

Really cool rooftop area that is furnished really nicely! The drinks are definitely on the pricier side, but the serving sizes definitely means you get your money worth! There was water spraying from the steel structures, and on a hot day it works out so beautifully and makes the experience super refreshing! The vibes and atmosphere were really welcoming and makes me inclined to return. A super chilled bar, and would definitely return!

What a fabulous venue loved it great views lots of seating options groovy music great bar and staff thoroughly enjoyed it highly recommended
MissBollywood4eva
It was average, tried the pizza which was nice but very less toppings. The chicken tenders were quite good though cripsy on the outside & soft from the inside. You get 3 medium sized tenders with sauce on top & dip on the side. The view of the city was average but the interior deco was quite nice & neat. The cocktail selection is not vast & is quite average tasting.

Atmosphere is electric. Must see and do. Good is Asian inspired and delicious.

Nice rooftop bar with water mist sprinklers to keep everyone cool. The G&T is very nice
Lisa Seymour
Great atmosphere, music can be a little too loud as there are speakers everywhere. Bell view and friendly staff.
Cathy Cavaleri
One of Melbourne's best highly recommend to visit when you do you will always go back again and again x
Tom Cook
Never been to a place that had such rude bar staff. Nice looking venue, but the whole place is soulless and cold.
Tony Liddy
Good vibe, great service. This bar better when the sun is down and the city lights are on, but the atmosphere is buzzy and cool anytime.
Suzanne Micallef
Loved QT rooftop bar first time there yesterday staff very friendly great place guys well done 🥂
Angelo Moutzouris
Great venue, great atmosphere and the friendly staff are the cherry on the cocktail. Definitely will be back.
Franca Campbell
It was ok but I felt there was a young crowd And felt I was too old tonneau there but in saying that good atsphere
Dan O'Neill
Good spot. Needs a quick service for beers and spirits as staff can get tied up making cocktails.
Jennifer Acton
Great, view, atmosphere, food, wine and service A must when in Melbourne
Dwayne Good
Great cocktails, service and view - passion fruit piano sour 😊
Sharon Dzodzadinov
Great space and atmosphere. It is unfortunate that the experience with the staff at the door was memorable for all the wrong reasons however the bar staff were able to make the evening a pleasant with great service.

My husband and I were staying in the QT hotel and we were told if we wanted to try the rooftop bar we should get in early as it can potentially fill up which we did and she was correct it did fill up so no surprises there. We got great service, the staff were very friendly, maybe took a bit longer for some drinks, extra staff probably could have helped as it was busy but we made allowances for that. I loved the atmosphere and would have no problem recommending this bar and the hotel as it was a gorgeous experience for us and my QT margarita was soooooooo good!! Do get in early tho to avoid disappointment of having to wait in a line..

Not enough staff couldn’t get a drink went elsewhere!

Sensational evening, great service and value for money! Best thing was to jump in the lift and go to our beautiful King room!

QT Rooftop bar has a lovely atmosphere and is very cosy. Staff were good and attentive. We were not impressed about the quality and price point of some of the beverages. How can you charge $22 for a Gin and Tonic?? There was nothing special about the presentation it was the same quality you would receive in a nightclub or at the pub for $11. Also the pizzas are served in a pizza box whilst dining in and not on a plate. This is lazy and not very elegant in presentation. Everything else was fine.

Friends were staying at QT which gave us an excuse to head to the rooftop for drinks and pre tennis snacks. Fortunately QT was all about Aperol and all about tennis when we visited. Better still they had my favourite North Queensland Gin available, Mount Uncle so sipped at a few of these. Others opted for Aperols Spritz, Pimms Cups, and beer. Found the staff a little inconsistent with knowledge of drinks and found we had to explain to one how to make a number 1 Pimms cup. <br/><br/>Our nibbles selection was a tasty way to easy into the late afternoon. Hot chips were sooo good and as were the wings and dips. <br/><br/>Overall a great afternoon. <br/><br/>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br/>Previous Review<br/>We popped up to the rooftop at QT for a few lazy cocktails and a pleasant Saturday evening. The crowd could be heard before being seen and it was absolutely packed. Outside was largely booked out by hens dos and private functions and I could see why. This place has some amazing skyline views and it quite the place to be seen. The bar inside was buzzy and staff very good at lip reading. We chose G&T’s and Rosé between the two couples and stuck to them our duration there. When we eventually got a table and sat down we received very good table service which saved us the queue and bother. I would definitely come back here for drinks. An elegant venue with heaps to offer locals and tourists alike.

The Rooftop at QT is great for after work if you want a classy ish place to hang out. It can get very crowded but there is also another bar on ground floor for you to wait.<br/><br/>The cocktails aren't too expensive considering how nice the view and venue are.
MelbourneLops
Beautiful views and setting at the QT rooftop with plenty of cocktail and drink options. Could easily spend an entire day on the outside couches sipping on bubbly and looking out at the city. Definite must see rooftop bar.
FoodieInMel
Been here few times, eras pretty busy during the night, can’t really see much of the view well, it’s quite nice in the afternoon under the sun, for a afternoon drink, like the vibe.
Gee
Another rooftop bar but this is a little more slick than some of the others. Went for Amaretto Sour and unfortunately the drinks didn’t hit the mark, although the view is good.

Lovely rooftop bar with a nice ambience. A good choice of drinks, we came on a busy friday night and it was lovely.

Fantastic selection of cocktails. I had the vanilla passion fruit pisco sour which was delicious and not overly sweet. I had the duck gnocchi for a meal. The gnocchi was crispy and flavoursome and the duck was tasty. We ate whilst watching the VCA short films which was great free entertainment!
Sweet_tooth_bo_boo
I went there with friends. Love their service! Floor staff quite friendly and attentive! Food is nice I would say atmosphere makes everything better! <br/><br/>Will definitely return again

Amazing and classy cozy vibes. Funky music and not too loud where you can’t hold a conversation. Friendly atmosphere too. Cocktails were delicious. Beautiful low level view of city.

Went there with some friends last Friday. We get in with no problems. My gf came after and they didnt let her in becasue they said was busy. She called me, explained and I was shocked about it, because upstairs wasn't busy at all. I had some guests with me from oversea and they were shocked about it.After 15 min waiting for her, I went downstairs to pick up her and the girl at front didnt let me go up again...it was very frustrating. Now my friends where upstairs without us. She explained that it was busy to wait there, then I called my friends to get down, while I was waiting for them, 5 girls came in and she got them upstairs straight away. I was very upset with her, and I called her, and asked for an explanation but she didnt know what to say..keep say to wait there....This place is a bullshit, they try to get more girls up there not respecting other people...that night we were planning to spend money amd drink a lot..so who really lost is you..beacuse of your snobby attitude. Ridiculous place, I will never be back again!!!<br/>

A place that’ always packed. Great for after work drinks and networking. Brought my friends here and they all had a good time. Amazing city view and a large variety of drinks and finger food that you won’t want to miss if you are in the CBD.

Came to an event held in at QT Rooftop. The space was absolutely gorgeous - it’s very classy and spacious, and hip and modern. But the best part is the view from the deck that overlooks the beautiful city. <br/><br/>The cocktails are wonderful! We had a passion fruit one which was delicious, sweet and refreshing - perfect for a warm summer day outside. The snacks and appetisers are amazing too - they sure know how to cook their meat! And don’t forget dessert here either!

I came to the rooftop bar at QT on one of the first weekends it had opened - the venue is simply stunning with a beautiful open bar space which opens out to a deck space overlooking the city. Beautifully elegant fit out, this place is a one to visit. The cocktails are as you would expect tasty but on the pricier side with a couple of bar snacks/nibbles on offer to appease your appetite. I'd come back again but only if I was dressed for an occasion or was looking for a classier venue to relax and have drinks in. The crowd can be a little more upmarket and hence the dress code a little fancy- be warned!
The City Lane
The Rooftop at QT is the signature bar at the top of the boutique QT hotel on Russell Street. The fitout keeps in line with the QT brand, luxe and glamorous, and impresses with a garden terrace that offers visitors sweeping views across the CBD. In many ways it feels more Sydney than Melbourne.

Very good atmosphere with such a view, tried several cocktails from the menu, my favourite was the signature gin and tonic ! Worth a try, a bit pricey but worth it.
Lizzie Eats Melbourne
😱Lizzie’s first impression: always a treat to come here - there’s ample of space and even on Fridays it’s not too crowded. <br/><br/>🍩Lizzie enjoyed: the staff knows how to make my day - they were able to make a cocktail with the flavours that I wanted! <br/><br/>🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: the wait in line on Fridays are ridiculous so better get in before peak hour. <br/><br/>🥇Lizzie rates overall: a great place for drinks especially in Summer as it’s on the rooftop!
Sydney Food Lover
Sophisticated and glamorous rooftop bar on the middle of the CBD. Serving all your classic cocktails and drinks, it is the place to be seen. Drinks are on the tad pricey side, but you are blessed with beautiful views high up on level 11 here at this boutique hotel bar.
Melbourne Food Girl
Looking for a snazzy spot for drinks at any time day or night. Rooftop QT is a new spot in town with great overhead coverage as well as being a rooftop, they've nailed the brief. Bartenders are very friendly, love a good chat and make some mean, delicious cocktails as well as chef providing the "get in my belly" dishes. Highly recommend for a group of mates looking for an arvo drinking sesh that has a chilled vibe with plenty of space and access to many other restaurants or bars around the city!
I Couldn't Help But Wonder...
Amazing staff and view! Always been a nice environment and with the overall more fashionable crowd it makes it the perfect stop on a night out’
Flying Forward
Beautifully decked out, QT Rooftop has both an outdoor and indoor area.<br/>With sweeping views of the city skyline, you could forgive the slightly high drink prices.<br/>Indoors is great when the weather is too wet, windy or cold (maybe that's most of the time in Melbourne).<br/>However when it's sunny, the outdoor deck can be absolutely rammed, you're lucky if you get a seat.<br/>During peak times, there have been a couple times when I was told to wait at the mezzanine bar, and they would call us when there was space available, but they never came back.<br/>Nevertheless, if you do manage to get up, they have a great range of beer on tap, pretty smooth house wine and cocktails.<br/>Still one of my favourite bars to take out-of-towners.

Absolute delight for a "secured" venue ...<br/><br/>YES, the security guard at the lobby must let you in to the lift, 11th floor ... 5* venue with 5* views of Melbourne, albeit mostly hindered from seating position.<br/>$17.00/glass for a $25.00/bottle of Tarrawarra Pinot Noir at Dan Murphy's is a bit absurd.<br/><br/>Above average service from the guys at the bar and those lovely attractive young ladies in Black (no other colour) ... I might come back and try their food at some stage in the future. JT-29/08/2018.
The Darth Zader
I came here with 10+ friends and this venue was perfect for the evening. The staff are lovely and music is excellent. I ordered the vanilla passion fruit pisco sour. Very delicious and worth the $$.

Nice and cozy bar, Absolutely love it !!! ♥︎ Bartenders are so helpful and friendly. I wish I can give it 4.5 stars only one thing not impressed us was espresso martini 🍸 was just ok and no aroma of the coffee, but another one which bartender recommended for us was great !! I love the vibe of the place.... don’t know how to explain but it’s sooooo chill and relax. The waitresses also friendly plus she is pretty.

The QT Hotel is truly fabulous and a wonderful addition to Melbourne!  I love the 'uniforms' of the staff, and the mystery behind finding your way to the rooftop bar.  It's a great atmosphere on the rooftop, the staff are friendly, and the bar menu is good.  Make sure you visit the bathrooms!
Nay Nay
This bar is so perfect. You catch the lift upto the top and you get off into a busy bar so beautifully styled. The bar is busy but the barstaff still put in the right amount of effort when preparing you cocktails. The view is just perfect 👌
Dumba
Very busy bar, but great if you can get a seat. The cocktails are amazing and the service is good. Great for a catch-up after work or on the weekend.
Stephanie
Really opulent atmosphere, suitable background music, loooovely outdoor heaters. <br/>charcuterie (smaller option) was what I shared with my friend and this was perfect. The more hammy cold cut wasn’t that nice but the rest were.

Came here for drinks twice during our stay at the QT. The bar are is nice and well layed out. There is also an outdoor deck area which looks out to a section of The Melbourne CBD. Read office buildings. <br/><br/>Both times pre and post dinner attendances proved to be well attended. Happy atmosphere all round and the staff as per the rest of the hotel were friendly. Drinks were priced per this level of establishment.<br/><br/>Generally the bar was not as quirky to the QTs reputation.
The Gastronomist
My first time in a roof top bar with friends from Sydney. Awesome bar and views. We had no issues with service; although in saying that, there were few people in at the time. Lovely interiors and furnishings which made the good ambience. We enjoyed our time here.
Oj_always_eating
The QT rooftop is such a great venue. I love coming here for an after work drink (make sure you get there early though, as it can get hectic)! The selection of drinks is excellent - the cocktails always look amazing and as a keen sparkling/champagne drinker, the love the options of the Domaine Chandon, and Mumm. Beautiful view of the city skyline gives the rooftop an exceptional atmosphere. Snacks on the rooftop are lovely too - I usually just order the chips (and they are delish)! Bartenders are usually pretty good, have only had 1 sub-standard experience. Definitely get to QT rooftop - particularly if you are a visitor to Melbourne - it gives you a great view and great photo ops! :-)
Nicole
Went to The Rooftop at QT for a couple of drinks after dinner in Chinatown. <br/>I loved the vibe of the rooftop and the view was good. However, at one stage I had to wait 15-20 minutes in line for a drink, which I found ridiculous as did other people waiting in line with me.
Eating Away Melbourne
Love a good rooftop and QT is definitely one of them. Really good view up there and always crowded with business ppl. Make sure you check it out if you are in the city.

We were here for a girls night out!! Amazing Cocktails - Mistress, Passion fruit Vanilla Cocktails, Pineapple Cinnamon.. These were just sooo yumm.. Bartender took special care of us and made them worth the wait!! We also ordered Bao and Red Wines from Sicily.. Ambience is very nice for a chilled out / relaxed out night out. Later on there is a DJ playing Music. All in all a great place for some predrinks before to head to the night club...

Came here with a largish group about two months ago, came well before the closing time only to find out that they had already closed off the rooftop which was extremely annoying.<br/>Staff were also very rude about it.
Ananya Singhal
Amazing vibe, great staff wonderful drinks!<br/><br/>So loud that you can’t here your neighbours. This feels exclusive and trendy, dimly lit, yet not dingy. <br/><br/>The view is decent to the west. Especially as the sun sets.<br/><br/>Some original cocktails share page space with twists to classics. I had a simple Aperol Spitzer and an Old Fashioned. Both were sublime!!
Ilovefoodsomuch
Great atmosphere the newest rooftop bar to hit Melbourne. I would recommend you just to come for the view because the drinks list is quite mainstream and limited
Good Food Good Mood
We attended 30th birthday drinks here which was a bit of a shambles as it's uber popular and as such half the birthday boys friends had to wait to be let in due to full capacity. You are able to reserve sections but be prepared to pay $1k plus for minimum spend. Both the indoor and outdoor areas are super slick and the outdoor provides gorgeous views to accompany delicious cocktails. <br/>Literally just as everyone was allowed in we were promptly shooed out due to a private function which was super annoying as the place had killer atmosphere (will be even more amazing in a few days time come daylight savings). Great spot but a logistical nightmare with a group

Nice place to get together for a drink and chat. We were here after dinner on sunday, since it was pouring and also too cold so we choose to stay indoor.

On our way out to dinner, though we would stop and have a drink at at, it was such a great idea! The atmosphere was great will definitely be back :)

DO: The drinks of course. <br/><br/>DON'T: Be late and try and secure a seat outside. Great views of Melbourne with stools, tables, lounges and heaters. <br/><br/>TIP: Gets packed on Friday and Sat nights with hour long wait lists. Therefore either go early or on an alternative night like we did. If you must go on a Fri, go and put your name down whilst you eat at Hot Sauce downstairs and wait for your name to be called.
@twogoodtoresist
The rooftop bar at QT is simply stunning! Boasting elegant vibes and a beautiful fit out, the bar is a great place for a catch up drink, date or a fun night out. The bar offers a fantastic cocktail list and there are some great bar snacks/light eats too. QT is certainly the place to be!
Petal Loves Food
Lovely cocktail with a smoking cinnamon. Service was very friendly however seemed to forget you were there for a while. Beautiful space nevertheless and had a pleasant time catching up with a good friend

The venue is nice. Very new but extremely dark. The staff seemed to have issues with the lighting and progressively turned the lights down. <br/><br/>The cocktail menu is not exciting. They charge about $20 for a drink that would be $15 elsewhere. <br/><br/>The food is really bad. Do not get anything. The sliders were bread and meat. No fillings. <br/><br/>
Alevia Peterson
Best rooftop in Melbourne, and for how swanky it is, the prices are still acceptable! Great decor and atmosphere and even better if you can snag a couch outside!
Split The Bill
QT rooftop felt like a prestige bar that only selective groups could get in. Very nice decor, love the gold upon entrance on ground floor.<br/><br/>Had to wait 40minutes to get upstairs, line wasn't long and upon getting up there was disappointed as there was empty space right around... not sure why they keep people waiting. We only waited cause we had friends up there. Was also disappointing as there were selective groups of ladies chosen from the waiting line to get in. <br/><br/>Rooftop bar was quite flash and nice, staff members were extremely nice and attentive. Love the idea they come to your tables for orders and payments ~ thank you ladies.<br/><br/>Tried the Apricot Mule cocktail 🍹 which was presented nicely. Fish sand which and cheese crinkle fries were nice, had to loose the spicy paprika second time round, burnt our lips 👄.<br/><br/>Was a nice experience, prob expected a lot more considering we waited for awhile in line. <br/><br/>MG

What a disappointing experience trying to book a function here.<br/><br/>Stopped in on Monday to enquire about a possible function booking in the rooftop space. The receptionists told me that there were no events staff available as it was a public holiday so I’d have to come back another day as reception staff were not allowed to show me the rooftop space. Not allowed!? On explaining that I only wanted to see the space and if it was what I was looking for I’d be happy to follow up with an events co-ordinator I was still greeted with a no.<br/><br/>What a terrible first impression. <br/><br/>Understandable if reception was busy but no, there were two receptionists and other staff milling around as the bar and lobby were empty.<br/><br/>I gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back yesterday to visit the venue with an events co-ordinator. The space itself was impressive, but the manner of staff not particularly welcoming. <br/><br/>I was told there was a minimum spend of $85 per person, then on receiving booking forms I discovered in the terms and conditions that there is also a 10% service charge for groups of over 10. I will definitely not be booking.<br/><br/>QT is too big for its boots – pretentious, unwelcoming and greedy in an already fabulous Melbourne boutique hotel and bar market and having read other zomato reviews it would seem the resounding feedback is the same!

Everybody loves a Melbourne rooftop bar! We had such a fun night out last Saturday night, the service was great even though all the staff were so busy and under the pump all still had smiles on their faces. The cocktails were delicious too! Will definitely be back

Janurary 2017<br/>This is a great place to go with friends as you have the luxury to either sit down in the lounge, have dinner or dessert, and have a drink at the bar. I finally got to try a espresso martini & it was delicious. Next time I would like to go to the rooftop section. <br/><br/>March 2017<br/>My friends & I finally got to go to the rooftop section and also have dinner at QT. The dinner was delcious, I had the pretzel crusted whiting fish which was very soft and accompained with potato cubes and beans. My friends had the duck and, chicken and mushroom dishes which they enjoyed. We also had sides of green vegies and fries which were both yum. <br/>The rooftop section was very busy but luckily we got a small table and got to see the view. We ordered some drinks, I tried the QT Old Fashioned which was nice and quite strong and my friends like their drinks too.<br/>

Decided to catch up with some friends for drinks last night and thought we'd tried this place after all the hype. Luckily we did not have to wait to go up (but we're giving a good look up and down to see if we were "cool" enough to be let in). The bar is nice and the view is ok. It was a lovely evening in Melbourne, so great to have a.nice outdoor option. Ambience is nice, wouldn't say amazing though. The issue with this place is service. The waitress was nice however they got drinks mixed up. When served they were so overfilled that she spilt most of them and didn't notice. I ordered a pear cider, and when I tasted it thought it was apple. She confirmed she asked barman for pear but then took it to check. She took a straw tasted it then told the bar man that it was apple. He told her that they didn't have pear, so he poured apple instead. Then she bought back the same glass and told me the story. What is wrong with this?<br/> -The bar man poured a drink that I did not order and did not inform waitress!<br/>- the waitress tasted my drink and bought me back the same one!<br/>As for food options, very scant, poor quality and expensive. <br/>This place is definitely not worth the hype! There are much better rooftop venues with exceptional views, service and food in Melbourne, e.g. Melina on the rooftop on Lonsdale St, etc
IsFoodIsGood
I had to wait 25 mins before being allowed on the rooftop... that didn't bug me though as my friend was running late. It would have if we just wanted a quick after work drink as when we got up there, it wasn't full at all.<br/>And there were suits. Just a lot of suits. It's not a great atmosphere nor does it have a great view, you can't actually see much from that rooftop. <br/>It is spacious but just doesn't have a good vibe.<br/>Drinks were expensive, and service was hard to come by.<br/>I was really disappointed as the Sydney QT is really good and got a such a good vibe... like Melbourne and this place was just a bit... Sydney.
Liam
Awesome rooftop bar obviously being new its pretty busy so they could use more staff behind the bar. Haven't tried any food as looks very limited but the place and vibe is very good for drinks. Drinks prices are expected for this type of place.
Denny Patron
Fantastic venue on the rooftop with great indoor/outdoor space and great city views....... but unfortunately that's where the positives end! I agree with all the other comments, scrutinized for no reason when heading up there, 80% of the staff were rude, expensive drinks (if u can get one) and most of the bar staff take there sweet sweet time when your trying to get a drink. Food menu very limited also. It's a shame cause the venue is great.
Jane
The experience was set to be awful from the off. When I asked for directions to the lift, I got looked up and down by the receptionist, quizzed about whether I 'really had friends upstairs' by the trumped up lift controller, and eventually given entry via the keycard controlled lift. Crowd was traveling business types and office gatherings - not the usual Melbourne crowd. Space was nice and could be amazing in the hands of different management, but overall service was dismal and food mediocre. After being given feedback that the espresso martinis were the worst we'd ever had, the bartender admitted the drinks were pre-mixed and that they 'just shook them'. Don't waste your time or money - the place is a joke.
Nicky M
Went here with 6 friends for birthday drinks. Started off at the lobby bar as the rooftop bar was "full". The service here was appalling! You had to wait for so long to get served. We were charged different price for the same drink $20 the first time, $12 the second time. Ridiculous! Won't bother going here again. Melbourne has plenty of other great bars with great customer service wouldn't waste my time here.
Shar Buendia
The service was really bad. We had to ask five times for two glasses of water. After talking to the manager, the waitress then gave the water we were asking for. Never going back.
Pippo
Cool looking establishment . Great city views from the rooftop. Service good. Older crowed mainly over 30s. Which is refreshing to see. When busy there is bit of a wait at the bar like must places. Mixed drinks served in 1970 style classes...
Einas
One of the difficult aspects of rating is the amount of items a venue can be judged on. As far as an addition to the rooftop bar culture of Melbourne, the bar is very nice. It hasn't quite capitalised on the views as much as it could, but it still is a good fitout.<br/><br/>We managed to avoid the mentioned scrutiny in the lobby and had an easy ride up to level 11. This was a chance outing as we were venturing to Harley House (closed) and Garden State (reluctant as it looked very busy). Granted we came arrived before 5pm on Cup Day, the bar was pleasantly quiet with a few punters, and we sat in one of the free booths. (Side note: Booths are very, very comfortable.)<br/><br/>A lot of staff were on, anticipating a Cup Day after party, and that's where things got interesting. Not very knowledgeable and possibly a very minor language barrier. Drinks were a little inconsistent, the first arriving gorgeously garnished and the repeat arriving with a lazy fat lemon wedge.<br/><br/>The food menu was standard. Onion rings were interesting (in a positive way) and bao was nice, but chips were a little under-cooked and Thai style beef on bread with a sambal concoction was poor. The menu did not state the bread was deep-fried, which made it a little heavy and the sambal interpretation was odd as in it didn't quite work. (Definitely not recommended. Steer clear.)<br/><br/>The ambience however was good and a very nice way to laze an afternoon away.<br/><br/>On an odd note, when we were paying by card, the hostess that was serving us abruptly asked if my friend wanted to leave a tip. <br/><br/>I have to say I was shocked, although another friend said that they were simply saying that because the machine displayed the tip screen. Either way, it was very, very strange. We have no problem tipping if the service has been good or outstanding, but I cannot recall in all our years of frequenting bars and restaurants, ever, ever being asked if we want to tip.<br/><br/>Would still come back for the ambience, but they still definitely need to iron out some staffing issues with experience and communication.
Tardar Sauce
New CBD rooftop bar on Russell St. The line was about 15 people deep at 5.30pm Friday, so we went to another bar first and returned at 6.40pm to no line. There is a lobby bar on the 1st floor and the rooftop is on 11. The rooftop also has an indoor area. I ordered a bottle of Ross Hill Sauv which the bar tender said they had to go and get "from downstairs" so we were waiting at the bar for 15mins and had to flag down the waiter again to find out what was going on as he didn't say how long the wait would be. $45 and it wasn't great. It tasted a bit cheap. The venue is nice and it's a good location being close to work!
Jerard Ng
Poor service overall. It's a pretentious place with security that were not friendly. The decor is lux but soulless. While the view was nice you can get rooftop views in melbourne with much less and with more vibe. The heavy handed security staff and weak drinks made the evening a fizzer
Mrsm
Hmmmmmm didn't like the critiquing going through the front door !!! Felt pretty uncomfortable! We were allowed to go to the next phase though😂 All we wanted was a drink and we were shown in the direction of the lifts (by the next guy), to go to the rooftop bar . Nice space but not sure about the cocktail making! Appeared to be poured out of pre-mixed unlabelled bottles!! Scary! Drinks were very weak... Obviously cost cutting but not passing that on to guests! Pretty disappointing .The first cocktail we ordered on the menu wasn't even available and when asked why it was on the cocktail menu we were given some long winded story about it not being available at all!!! Easy... If it's not in the menu... take it off!!! Saw one staff member wandering around for ages with food to deliver not knowing where to go.... stopping, chatting to another staff member ( food getting colder)...I do hope those guests received some @decent food! Don't think the bathrooms are adequate up there... Can imagine the queuing time when the bar is full coming up to the summer season! Ladies be prepared! Such a shame as it is a funky cool space. Thought QT had a good name... Have they got this one right? not so sure now 😕
Charles Hope
Don't get too excited. Guards in the lift lobby at 4:45pm on Thursday (15 minutes after opening) scrutinising for worthiness for entry. Most people being turned away. Sadly, this venue will be off-limits to almost all but the "beautiful" people of Melbourne until the Sydney management realise that the two cities have rather different cultures. It's a shame... because, having sneaked in on the public holiday last Friday, I can attest that this is a bar that could become a Melbourne institution. But that's not going to happen while the Sydney-sider management keep the doors closed to most of the Melbourne public. What a waste!
