I’ve walked past a few times and it always seems busy so I decided to give it a try. The pineapple fried was delicious and the other pork belly dish that we had was just as good. The flavours were great and overall it was a good experience.
Will come back for:
+ Boat noodle with pork (spicy)
It’s surprising to find great authentic Thai flavors at a food court, but this place serves them! The boat noodle was spicy, had bags of flavors, lots of textures with the crunch from pork crackers, soft and slippery noodles and the crunchy bean sprouts. What a great snack and a treat in between the shopping. They also had the more traditional (and more herby version) of boat noodle (mama’s) which I am looking forwards to trying next time. Prices are also reasonable for what you get which is a generous bowl of noodles that delivers in many levels. The spice level for their “spicy” version is spicy, so judge your own spice level as appropriate.
Really love this restaurant.
Recommend chicken wingz and marinated pork neck.
Authentic Thai food and like the taste which they created. Undoubtedly, one of the best Thai restaurant in CBD

Looks like you have being teleported to Thai. Very street food feel . Even the seat spacing and the environment makes you feel like you are holidaying overseas.
The signature beef soup have selection of noodles and spicy . There are soo many choices . Lamb were cook to perfection but small serve. The oyster omelette was good but need better or selection of sauce.

• Anchan noodles with grilled chicken: the sauce (savoury and sour) goes well with the chicken and noodle; grilled skin-on chicken was delicious; although the noodle is dyed blue with butterfly pea, it tasted just like normal vermicelli.
• Sen Chan Pad Pu (rice noodles with soft shell crab in tamarind sauce): the crab was quite big (enough for six people; the noodles were very sour.
• Green curry had lots of chicken and was a bit bland.
• Tom yum soup
• Grilled barramundi fish: the skin was super crispy; the sauce was deliciously sweet and sour and paired well with sticky rice
• Papaya salad with tiny crab: very spicy (told by those who are used to eating spicy food); the mini crab was salty, crunchy.
@jingjaithai This is definitely my go to place for amazing Thai street food. The pad thai noodles is personal favourite
Crowded place, good service - unfortunately didn't have a couple of things that were on the menu -however we found replacements that were very good.
Food was so good I forgot to take a photo first. What I ordered was the Drunken Noodle. A spicy rice noodle wit beef and got an extra fried egg for $15. Spot on with the spice level. Enough to sweat but not enough to make me regret my life decisions. Will recommend to anyone
My friends adore Jing Jai Thai - it's a frequent hang of theirs. I was highly encouraged to go experience the wonder!
Ordered:
🍲 Massaman Curry Beef + Rice: massaman curry beef with potato, onion, carrot, peanuts and fried shallot served with rice ($13.00)
🦐 Tom Yum Prawn Soup: thai spicy and sour soup with prawn, mushroom, lemongrass, galangal, chilli, lime leaves and coriander with milk ($9.00)
Review:
Really incredible and affordable dinner price. Massaman curry was creamy, delicious and great. It made me feel hearty but not overwhelming bloated and lethargic inducing. Highly recommend!
The Tom Yum prawn soup also made my friend sweat LIKE YOU WOULDN'T BELIEVE. Even with medium spice level and milk, I was struggling. Nonetheless, Jing Jai Thai definitely do great Tom yum soups that are punchy and memorable.
Service was great, and accommodating to our table of 7. Although they ran out of sticky rice mango pudding because it is a seasonal item which sucked - it is my favourite to try 😞.
Long wait and busy staffs.
But I always come back for their elegant dishes 😅
Recommend: boat noodles, som tum salad, fried fish dishes, oyster shot.
Quality Thai food, with the right amount of spice!
Bonus: VEGETARIAN Friendly!
Jing Jai Thai on Flinders Lane is a very cosy spot that serves authentic Thai dishes at a very reasonable price.
You can definitely adjust to your spice level, but the higher you go the more it's going to hurt.
4/5 overall experience because the quantity of protein / meat provided per dish is pretty minimal (I could count the pieces of pork on one hand) and the selection of beverages is limited to beers and soft drinks.
Overall, each dish was prepared very well and came at a timely pace. Customer service was really good, our serving staff was friendly and made sure to repeat the order back.
Best dish to try: The crispy chicken wings! $8 for 4 wings and the seasoning is PERFECT.
Would come back again with a big group!
Dined on a Saturday night. We ordered the meat platter with some curry and some beers and it went down nicely. Would love to come back and try their noodles and other dishes

One of the best Thai restaurants in Melbourne you’ll find. Homey feels to their foods. They have a good range of street foods offering in their menu. I’ve dined here many times and today I ordered their signature bowl noodle soup, grilled pork with sticky rice and a bowl of tofu seaweed soup. The only 4 stars rating is only for the bowl noodle soup which would normally taste great today somehow it was very salty to my liking. Otherwise, staff are friendly as always.
Delicious food. Definitely recommend the pineapple fried rice!
We had to wait 20 minutes to be seated even though we had a booking. The food took a very long time to come as well.
Colorful Ao Chan noodles-taste like bean noodles. Accompanying grilled chicken like what you get in Thailand
