Young owner of café extremely jolly and friendly. Very detailed in asking for your food and coffee preference. I had a freshly made egg and bacon toast plus a double-shot cappuccino. My visit there made a great start of the day!

This place is great when you just want to sit down somewhere quietly and enjoy a coffee, Alfie is an absolute sick cu...nice person and very helpful. Plus, of course, the coffee is great too.

I love this café, unfortunately I only get to visit it when the train decides not to go through the city loop, or on my lunch break if I am sneaking in a extra coffee. The venue is tiny, but with that comes great coffee, just the way you like it, no matter how many twists and requests you put on your order, it is always given to you with a large smile and you are sent away with a warm farewell.

KD

Came here this morning for a coffee, service was quick and friendly, coffee was decent, although a very big glass- potentially too much water- but I got a discount for using a Keep Cup! Love that!
Lovely friendly manager/server here called Alfie. A very cheery young man - busy, enterprising and eager to please. This is essentially a small coffee and sandwiches/small meals place. I like the layout. It's tight but also engagingly quirky. The decoration is eccentric but nice and clever in its own way. The food range is necessarily limited due to size constraints. I had a toasted ham and cheese sandwich which was most enjoyable. Just what I was after. My large cappuccino was lovely too. A solidly substantive Melbourne coffee. To be able to sit down and have these things in a lovely spot for just over $10 is the height of reasonableness. Son of the Bean is a cute little place and I enjoyed my respite here and the food and coffee. It's a solid 4.0 for me. I'll be back for sure.

Great staff and lovely hot chocolate! Great value for money and there's numerous coffee sizes. The cups and lids are also eco-friendly. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Absolutely in love this cute, quirky little café. It's my takeaway go to on my way to work, Alfie and Carolyn really have hit the spot, supporting local business with there milk( green pastures) plus having soy, almond and coconut milk on offer. They using free range local eggs in there sandwiches, and make sandwiches fresh to order with a array of different filling. On Friday I enjoy a naught but delicious Lebanese pastry with a Carmel slice to finish ! Heaven !!!! It's very reasonable too x
If you haven't been past you must go ASAP and enjoy a cuppa from them xx
