We buy pastries and cakes from this little bakery from time to time. This time it was an almond croissant. Don't mind the photos - I think it got a little flattened on the way home. The croissant was delicious - sweet but in my opinion, not too sweet, a good dusting of icing powder and almonds along with a chocolate centre that gets molten when reheated. Honestly quite indistinguishable from the other fancy artisan places that charge $8 for a similar croissant.
In terms of ambience, personally I think the layout could be improved. The tables there are all pushed against the walls with a large open space in the middle, which does not give it a very cosy feeling. Breaking up the space would help.
Worth a try for some good pastries and baked goods.
Nice atmosphere. Food was good. Service was good. 2min from our appartment so very convenient. Very enjoyable breakfast, the waffles were so good
Nice little cafe which makes freshly baked baguettes 🥖 on premises. My favourite is the pastrami baguette which after toasted tastes quite nice. Generally the place serves the apartments around it
Popped in for a sweet treat and I am pleased to confirm despite some less than favourable reviews on here it really did satiate the tastebuds. The macarons were divine and the chocolate dessert rich and indulgent. The larger cakes also looked quite stunning and would be perfect for a birthday or sharing occasion. A little bit of Parisian deliciousness in Southbank
Great cake, medium sandwiches, poor coffee. The staff who makes coffee keep changing all the time, I would rate the coffee served over there is below melbourne average but above McDonald, unfortunately. Environment is ok for a short talk, but not that kind of place you want to spend for morning.

After a fairly long walk from the Southgate complex I came to A Treat of France for my dessert and thoroughly enjoyed their Blueberry Baked Cheese Cake at the bargain price of $6.50. Yes, another truly beautiful dessert to satisfy my sweet palate. Service provision was excellent with staff being very friendly and attentive. I couldn't get over how busy this little shop was with a constant stream of customers visiting throughout my 30 minute stay (always a good sign of great food) especially considering it's somewhat "out of way" location. I'll be back sometime in the coming Summer to try something different.

Pleace is quite busy, in particular with lots of tradies in the area, but it looks like everyone has found out about this place. Since it has the best croissants. Coffee, atmosphere and serving staff are very nice.
Amazing food and pastry, very good coffee, great position, the staff is nice, and the restaurant manager is very kind.
The place is beautiful, very cozy and comfortable.
Everytime I come to Melbourne, I come to this cafe religiously. There is simply no better place for baguettes, croissants and pastries. The croissants instantly take me back to a cold morning in Paris where I tasted the best croissant at a local bakery. You can tell love has been put into everything that comes out of the kitchen here. I have noticed this place get busier everytime I come back and they deserve every success! I just wished there was a cafe like this one in Sydney!
Got a free tart ! :). So I stumbled upon this place today walking by the shop and went inside to have a look.. There was one staff member in the store who seemed a little bit incompetent to be perfectly honest but nice and friendly none the less. I asked for a loaf of sour dough bread and a piece of cheese cake unfortunately both were sold out by 4.30 in the afternoon which was a shame. I then decided on a passionfruit tart which the worker offered me free of charge as I had waited for a while and both of the things I wanted were unavailable and this was a pleasant surprise to me. As I sat down to eat a group of 10 to 15 people came in the door for coffees and cakes and the staff member told them Oh sorry we are closing soon and I just turned off the coffee machine.. I thought this was pretty poor of him! dissapointing to the business itself and to the people who had made the effort to come to this cafe. I thought it was pretty lazy that he would choose to dismiss 10 to 15 customers just because he couldn't really be bothered turning on the machine and serving them! but anyways the tart I had was lovely and the food looked fantastic I just thought how he dealt with that situation wasn't quite right...
Chanced on this place and really loved the baguettes and Danish! Really delicious, baguette was fresh and crispy. They toasted it for me and took out!
Has the prosciutto baguette and blueberry Danish!
Best almond croissant I’ve ever had!! I’ll be back for their amazing selection of baguettes, everything made fresh and in-house. Lovely service and great prices.
* Edit * I come here weekly now and everything is seriously AMAZING. My personal favourites are the turkey n brie baguette, chunky steak pie (OMG 😍) and the waffles!!!
I am so excited today to visit this Cafe just at the corner of my apartment. Great experience with welcoming staff and delicious food, absolutely love it! Will be back ~
Delicious coffee, loved it.
Pastries are too good to try with coffee.
Very friendly staff members.
Breads here are cheap and good taste.
Coffee is so so.
I visited so many times!
If I was grabbing a coffee around here, I would definitely pick here over all other surrounding cafes... staff seem friendly and the sandwiches/toasties look awesome (checkout my pix)! Make sure you check them out
