Soy flat white isnt the best however chai latte was nice. Passionfruit cheesecake was heavenly. Great taste and creamy texture. Banana bread was toasted nicely and great taste
Great to see there is still some places in Melbourne that don't do the plain old Jane but dare to offer a few different things on their menu. I had the nourishing bowl which, albeit a bit pumpkin-heavy, was very yummy and in fact nourishing. My friends were all very pleased with their food that looked and smelled amazing. Everything looks lovingly made and fresh and is quite reasonably priced too. We'll surely be back.
A nice find in a busy area with lots of different eateries. Coffee and service very good, and haven't had a bad choice in meal yet... prices quite reasonable, although the empty display cabinets and fridge fronts did detract from the look a little... perhaps they had sold out by the time I got there at 11 am on a Saturday morning...
words cannot describe how fantastic this place is !!! from the service to coffee to food its a solid 10/10.
in my eyes its the best cafe in Melbourne! i highly recommend visiting it !!
Very nice to walk into a cafe in Flemington with an extensive menu and one that reads well with lots of variety. I ordered the Pan Fried Gnocchi with prosciutto and sage butter, the Gnocchi were perfect being fluffy on the inside with a lovely caramelised surface. The flavours worked well and my only criticism is that some of those lovely pan juices from the burnt butter should have been drizzled over the dish. My friend had the buttermilk chicken burger and enjoyed it. The Chicken was moist with an awesome crisp coating and accompanied with a tangy mayo. His only criticism was that the crunchy slaw was just undressed cabbage (not the expected coleslaw) and lacked flavour but the chips were crunchy which is not always a given. All in all good food and with some adjustments easily could elevate these dishes to 4 out of 5.
Burgers Of Melbourne
+3.5
The venue itself is pretty good. The artwork looks great and you get a good vibe even when it isn't overly busy. There are plenty of vegan and gluten free options which is great when looking for a healthly breaky or lunch. The salad I had was a little bland but had the right engredients, just needed a little something extra to bring all the flavours out. They used to have burger nights but that is no longer the case.
Mr. Ed Cafe is located along the busy Racecourse Road in Flemington and minutes walk from Newmarket Station. While their offerings for breakfast and lunch may, on first glance, be your typical cafe dishes. On some of them, they do an interesting take on it. For example, their Smoked Salmon comes with sumac rolled eggs or their Baked Eggs comes with leek and chorizo ragu and Persian feta.
Great local cafe with a great variety of food from typical brunch fare to great burgers. My two fav dishes are the smoked salmon with goats curd and poached eggs, and also the frenched brioche with pear. Good coffee, friendly service.
A good Place for a Sunday Brunch
Organizing Meet-Ups are a tricky one, so i opted for here a quite little brunch stop on a Sunday Morning, There were 10 of us and the service friendly. We all ordered coffee as you do and if you have read any of my other reviews you know what i ordered yes a Flat white! it was ok here but not my favorite maybe i would opt for a juice next time as they looked pretty good too.
I can only comment on the 1 dish i had here and it was the poached pear French Brioche, Tasty! the pear beautiful poached in a great sauce too. The Bread was fluffy and the crumb on top were nice. A tad too sweet even for me and i love the sweet options. The cream added a break so was a nice touch to the dish.
Everyone else seamed to enjoy there food mostly positive reviews around the table, Now service is something i do not comment on all the time however i have to say it was good but the fact they delivered all dishes within 3 minutes was pretty impressive considering there were 10 of us. I will come back at some point soon but i think i will opt for a savory next time.
Restaurant Type: Brunch Cafe
Visit 9/2017 and I'm so pleased to report that this place is shining with quality food and coffee. The staff are winners and engage with your conversations with sincerity. Stop here for breakfast or lunch.
The Baked Eggs was huge and most enjoyable. The waitress warned us that they take a little longer to serve you but it is worth the extra five minutes. YUM!
Mr Ed is a winner - first past the post in this race to get my eating dollars.
Relaxed atmosphere with very nice menu that ticks all the boxes. The current owners have certainly made this their home by delivering food and quality coffee with calmness not seen before.
They will grow Mr Ed !!!
Thank you for creating a lovely breakfast for our party of four after shopping at the wonderful Flemington Sunday Market.
A good breakfast is a beautiful thing, and a truly great breakfast should be treasured and celebrated. If you’re looking for a ridiculously WONDERFUL breakfast, then head on over to One Fall on Racecourse Rd. Their coffee is perfect, as is the Breakfast Burger and their version of a Big Breakfast, (I think it was called “One Fall’s Breakfast”), is divine!!! It’s also fabulous to see the staff going outside to befriend customers’ dogs and catering to them as well as they do for people. I love the decor and the top notch service. Couldn’t ask for better 😊❤️🙏✅
ORDERED:
🎃 Bang Bang Pumpkin [v]: Organic smashed pumpkin, Meredith's goat cheese, Pepitas, pine nuts, spinach, hummus, chilli and organic crispy kale, noisette multigrain ($16.50)
+ 🥚 poached eggs ($2.50)
REVIEW:
I absolutely adore crispy kale. Whenever it's on the menu, I automatically gravitate to it. It's slightly salty, and combined with the sweetness of the pumpkin there's enough contrast in flavour and texture to keep the dish interesting.
Carried by the multigrain bread, it's a filling dish.
This is actually a rebrand from Mr.Ed in Flemington!
Amazing place to be. Good food with good portions and they are specialist in coffee making.
Suitable for vegetarian and vegans also.
Highly recommended.
Walked in on a whim looking for brunch in my local area, and was impressed with the food and service. Food was well proportioned and the staff were very attentive. My partner and I ordered the Huevo Mexicano and Chicken Burger.
Went their with my family for brunch. Delicious foods with large portions on top of that friendly staff. Highly recommended.
What a great place!
Food interesting and tasty; coffee excellent; atmosphere relaxed and inviting.
Lovely food and the coffee was great too.
I loved all the options that were on the menu - they were extremely vegetarian friendly!
We'll defo go back to explore more. The almond hot choc was good too - we ordered traveller hot choc and a latte on our way out 😁
Excellent service and food. Kitchen staff/owner went above and beyond by showing situational awareness to accommodate our dietary needs. Ordered Ed's Benedict, magic and turmeric latte.
