If you fancy bite size balls of warm, soft on the inside, crispy on the outside fried doughnuts bathed in delightful toppings, then give Lukumades a try. The variety of toppings is sure to sate any gluttonous cravings. We had the half-half pistachio and snickers toppings today. They're rich and I can't imagine devouring the whole box by oneself, but it's great to share with friends. The Nutella hot chocolate was amazing too. There were only 2 staff and traffic was constant, with eat in, take away and delivery all vying for attention. Cute seating arrangements, mostly outdoors which are prone to the elements.

Been going here for years and it never disappoints. Realised we actually hadn’t been here for two years. | Whenever we have friends come from interstate, we always take them here to try it. | Really good value for money. | Seating spots available outside but bear in mind if it’s raining, it’s not covered. | In the past have seen a very angry customer, please be patient with the staff. There’s generally only 1-2 people working and they’re pretty under the pump most of the time. Between walk in’s and Uber orders. | Fave is Bueno, if it’s your first time - recommend you get the half and try two flavours 🙂

Disappointed at fist sight. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 I went today for the first time. Donuts are ok but the staff is NOT even smile and NOT friendly at all. The blonde girl seems busy although I am the only customer standing there. No explanation about menu and promotion. I was treated like grab and then Go. If she wasn’t happy about this job why don’t she stay at home? I don’t know why you keep this staff when there were so many negative feedbacks about her. No more second visit and highly not recommend 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

Came here on a Friday night for some desserts and wasn’t disappointed. You get 10 mini donuts for $12, but I recommend doing the half/half for $14. I went with balles bougatsa & bueno. Only drawback about this place was wish there was better sitting arrangements.

I was here last week and donuts were great! I decided to visit again tonight and was greeted by a lovely blonde woman, smile from ear to ear. Although busy but my order still came out very promptly and fresh. Fantastic, delicious and hot donuts. Would recommend and will come again!

However, there was only one staff at the station and a lot of people waiting for orders, and we weren’t allowed to dine in so we let them know we will dine outside, but our order never came to us, we just received it once we checked up on it.

When it comes to fresh donuts, I’ve always had a soft spot for a piping hot one filled with jam. Much to my detriment at times when I go in for that first bite and end up with a burnt tongue. Patience just isn’t my virtue when it comes to a hot jam donut, especially if it has been a long time since my last one. But after recently trying Lukumades for the first time on National Donut Day a while ago, I can add them to my favourites list right there next to those hot jam donuts. Pssst, Lukumades also do a mean hot jam donut, but there are also more exciting (and equally tasty) options on the menu. Melted Biscoff, Bueno, Twix and Snickers to name a tasty few. With so many delectable sounding options, it’s a good thing that they recently introduced a half and half dozen option.

When you think you won’t finish a tray but eat it all... needless to say I loved these lukumades! Collectively, we ordered the peanut butter, bueno and cinnamon sugar. The donuts were crisp on the outside and fluffy inside but not oily at all. The bueno was my favourite although they were all amazing!

The wait time is incredibly long but for the quality donuts you receive it’s totally worth it. Located opposite Victoria market, lukumades sure does have some competition set in for them as the market is home to many traditional donut stands. Ordered: Matcha balls + pistachios $13 Review: Stopped there on a Wednesday night and it was overwhelmingly busy. I silently prayed that the donuts were worth the 40 min wait in line. And to my surprise they absolutely were! The donuts itself was nothing like I’ve ever tasted before slight chewy and oh so soft on the inside. Not to mention that the delicious crunch that it had as it was just made fresh and out of the fryer hot. The beautiful texture of these donuts did not make it tiring to eat after a few bites despite its decadence, which I love. The white chocolate sauce infused with green tea is just as good, it’s really sweet which compliments the not so sweet dough. I added pistachios for texture but it didn’t really do anything as they were grounded not chopped. The green tea flavour was very pronounced in this sauce which took my by surprise.

Ordered the dark delight- Fresh donuts made to order and drizzle with dark chocolate sauce and sprinkle of pistachio and a scoop hazelnut ice cream. The donuts were nice and golden on the outside and soft on the inside. Absolutely amazing! Can’t wait to try all the other flavours.

Visited the Lukumades for the first time at their new location in Carlton last weekend in the afternoon to avoid the crowd lol. Staff were super friendly and the ambience is very cute, and the Greek donuts... oh my goodness.. I don’t know why I haven’t visited their other locations already because man did I miss out. Serving size was generous and the donuts had a slight crunch on the outside and nice and soft in the inside which I loved. The only thing was that because it was super cold in the corner, the melted toppings went hard quite quickly and the donut itself got a bit chewy, so i would recommend to have these fresh and right away, (less talk, more eat) LOL! But mind you, I eat slow sometimes so that and the weather played a part. But other than that I can’t wait to come back and try the other flavours🥰

Heard about Lukumades because of their success in Adelaide. Glad they have a permanent location in Melbourne! Ordered: 🍘 Snickers: melted milk chocolate, crushed peanuts and drizzled caramel sauce ($10.00) + 🍦 vanilla bean icecream ($4.00) Review: This donut makes me want to zorba 💃. It is crunchy, sweet, delicious, tear jerking and if this is what heaven is like just kill me now. I've found my new religion. But being serious this was awesome! Highly recommend especially when the cold icecream cuts through the warm doughy ball. It's a classic combination that does not fail.

Very very tasty. I am a bit of a loukouma snob and can hand-on-heart say that these are very good. Some of the better ones I’ve had in Melbourne. We ordered them on Uber eats and although they took over an hour to get here ( hence the one star off), they came hot and tasted spot-on. For those who don’t know about loukoumades, they are smallish balls of dough with your topping choice, traditionally honey, nuts and cinnamon. We had the traditional and the Nutella loukoumades and they did not disappoint. Good job Lukumades team!

Wow! Just WOW! This beat my expectations of amazingly delicious! The outside was golden and crunchy whilst inside the dough was light and fluffy and made FRESH! I had the lukumades stuffed with peanut butter and topped with Nutella and white chocolate and dayyymmm I made an excellent choice! The filling was generous and every bite was melt in your mouth! I can’t recommend this place, I would eat this every night for dessert if I didn’t have to watch my waist line haha

As far as loukoumades go, they're pretty light and fluffy on the inside but not much flavour in the dough as it's a quick rise. That's not a problem, because these are loaded with a modern touch (instead of traditionally being covered in honey and cinnamon - which is still available). The nutella classic has crushed biscuit, which provides a bit more texture. Love the vanilla ice cream - it's an absolute must with it. Quite a rich bit of dessert though.

Ordered the Bueno (melted hazelnut sauce with drizzled milk chocolate and crushed biscuit). It was like a light fluffy fried round dough with a lot of toppings on it! It tastes ok, gets a bit oily and hard to finish at the end.

A while back I tried the Loukamades food truck and left a 4 star review. I thought I'd give the outlet near the market a go today because it would be quiet and easy to get a park (non market day). I was in the area too. It was disappointing to say the least. If I had not have driven a distance away before trying one, I would have gone back. I found there were only a couple of the little donuts that were properly cooked, the rest were still doughy inside. They were not cooked for long enough.I wanted to grab a photo but they were eaten by a member of my household. I can't believe they ate the cold doughy gooey balls. Each to their own and at least the food did not not get thrown away.

Go-to dessert place in Melbourne! The warm doughnuts were perfect for the cold weather. The matcha balls was a must for matcha lovers. The matcha flavour was pretty strong. The oreo balls was the best, though. The tella classic was a bit too sweet for my liking. The dark delight was good, too, but it was just plain chocolate. The twix fix was really good, too, it wasn’t as sweet as tells classic. I can’t finish them all, though. It’s only good when you have several bites, definitely better for sharing. Sometimes they’re a bit oily, too, which makes it soggy, and not crispy.

We had long black and soy latte for drinks and personally i didnt like my coffee coz it was bland and watery, the donut tho, to die for, it was overly sweet for my liking but if we are talking about the donut taste and texture itself, it was definitely a winner, next time i may order just with springkled icing sugar on top.

Difficult to walk through and not order a sneaky treat. We got the Twix Fix which was basically chocolate (with the occasional Twix texture), salted caramel and vanilla icecream. The loukoumades was chewy and crisp on the outside, some of which were getting soft from the icecream. The icecream dripped through the container so be careful! Difficult not to like as it combines familiar flavours to the party. What I would like to see is some inventiveness as a lot of the combinations are based off Australian sweet snacks (which is a bit lazy). Highlight? I got to pet someone else's dog.

My first experience of these delicious lukumades were at the Sydney Good Food And Wine Show. When I was in Melbourne I decided I needed to visit the shop. It is a cosy shop with a few seats. When I got there the lady serving was preparing food delivery orders. She was friendly and multi tasking as she was also frying batches of the golden Greek doughnuts. I ordered the Twix Fix and the aforementioned doughnuts topped with milk chocolate, twix, caramel sauce, and vanilla bean gelato. It is was yummy dessert and great combo and exactly what I remembered. I also had a Mocha too. It was slightly bitter but still good. Worth a visit for a treat!

I went here with my friends on Saturday night, this place was quite busy. We had to wait in queue for a bit. The shop is a bit small there are around three small tables inside. The doughnuts were delicious, we can choose the ice cream and toppings too. Would recommend this place for a late night snack. .

The donut batter was good and freshly made but the toppings were pretty thick and sickening after a while. The original honey + cinnamon was the most disappointing and it was just covered in honey and no relief if the cinnamon at all. The ice cream in the Oreo topping was good but the whites chocolate was thick and overpowering. Matcha was legitimate and not the super cheap powder and the twix was alright too. All the toppings were thick, if the donut balls were infused or had a light creamy filling then the experience would’ve been more enjoyable. Their space was super small too even on the patio side area.

Pictured is the Dark Chocolate Delight, donuts, dark chocolate sauce, Hazelnut gelato, and pistachios make it it perfect combination of light yet rich. The sauce is very heavy and thick and will fill you up quickly but the light and airy gelato acts like a palette cleanser and keeps you going! Perfect to wash down with hot coffee and split with your date. Price: $10 for 10 donuts! I would love if they also had an option. To just get the donuts without sauce to-go. Like a $5 for 5. Service: Excellent, thank you for being so welcoming! The space is pretty small (three small tables) so we recommend taking away and eating at the beautiful Flagstaff gardens.

Superb delicate morsels. Crunch on the outside, fluffy and light in the inside. The dough itsels was not too sweet, which provides a nice background to whatever toppings I chose. Drizzled with honey and cinnamon powder dustings, these balls comfort my belly in the midst of chilly Melbourne wind. What a way to end my Queen Victoria Market shopping day.

Ordered the Twix fix which was made from the Greekish candy ball (a ball with the size of an egg fried cook) topped with salted caramel plus chocolate cookies and ice cream. Tasted delicious with chocolate and salted caramel together. The ice cream was not so good as th others, I guess they bought some low priced product from stores. Recommend to sweet lovers, it was fantastic for you at first bite but too sweet in the end.

Went to the place back to back on two consecutive days. The dessert served here is absolutely awesome. I had oreo balls and the next time hazelnut donuts. Both the donuts were delicious and had a generous scoop of ice-cream on it. The hazelnut milkshake was also very good. Will keep visiting the place for sure.

4.5 I am in awe at how these little gems stayed so fresh despite me ordering them via UberEats. While the distance travelled wasn't very far, I honestly did not expect the doughnuts to remained that crunchy on the outside. I would have easily forgiven them for going a bit limp. It wasn't just the exterior that impressed me. The inside of the doughnuts were very soft, with a slight chew to it, and because it was so light, once I popped one in my mouth, it was very hard to stop! I also must give myself a pat on the back for choosing what I think were the perfect sauces to go with the doughnuts - matcha infused white chocolate and dark chocolate. The bitterness imparted by the matcha and dark chocolate balanced out the sweetness of the doughnuts perfectly. The hazelnut gelato that came with the Dark Delight wasn't anything spectacular, but what it did was provide an element of creaminess, and with the crunch from the crushed pistachios, delivered a highlight of different textures.

Been seeing this on social media a lot so I thought it was time for me to give it a try. No regrets! Ordered it via Ubereats and it arrived in bite sized golden and crispy perfection coated in dark chocolate and pistachios. It was so fluffy and soft inside as well, had to stop myself from finishing the whole box by myself. The hazelnut gelato was a good ‘palate cleanser’ hahah, whenever the rich dark chocolate got overwhelming.

Pimped out greek donuts in its own shop front across from Vic Market. It's not a food I've eaten outside of a market or food festival so I tend to associate lukumades with street food. Its pretty good for what it is, if not a bit on the sweet side.

I love this place! Today was my 4th time visiting and I don’t understand why it’s never busy. The doughnuts tastes like the ones I’ve eaten in Greece. It is crispy on the outside and chewy and soft in the inside. Unfortunately we never got to try the Lukamades. Our organised delivery never came through and we didn't hear back from the company or the shop for 30 minutes. We spoke to the owners of the shop and they said we could pick them up. We made our way to the shop, we waited for 20 minutes and never got any Lukamades. Strange experience.

Came here for an afternoon snack. The place itself is cute and cozy, there's seating inside and outside. We got the Dark Delight to share and it was delicious. The doughnuts were crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. The chocolate went really well and the hazlenut gelato was amazing. Service was quick, staff was nice and bought the food out to us when it was ready. This greek donut is definitely my favorite donut ever! Love the taste and texture, crispy and soft combined with a lot choices of chocolate and nuts topping...omg just love it... old timer and dark chocolate are my favorite!!!

Lukumades has been my favourite dessert ever since I came to Melbourne! Found them in Instagram a while ago and had always wanted to try them because they look amazing. Turns out the taste is also magnificent! The fact that the staffs let you to have 2 different flavours in one order (half-half) is another evidence on how this dessert surely wins a place in my heart.

It was my first time trying this dessert. I loved it and it was made to order. The fried dough was fresh and lighter than I expected, which was a good thing. The vanilla bean ice cream was my favourite which paired nicely with the donuts 😊

In my opinion, the doughnuts were just okay since Greek doughnuts aren't my thing- my sister on the other hand, really enjoyed it. What I like the most is actually their gelato. Though the flavors may be limited, it was really good! Worth the money and the portions were good for its price! (Had the vanilla bean and cookies and cream)

Not sure what traditional Greek donuts should be, but these donuts are very doughy on the inside (not really my cup of tea) and pretty crunchy on the outside. I had the Oreo Balls; bite-size donuts covered in condensed milk, crushed cookies and a very generous serving of vanilla ice cream. Very sweet and sinfully delicious (hard not to be when things are covered in sugar, sugar and more sugar :))

Ratio decidendi: You know you’re across a good thing when an outlet has the confidence to specialize in one product. In Lukumades’ case, that product is Greek doughnuts – bite sized doughnut balls with a crunchy outer batter and soft inner, smothered in more forms of calorific terror than you dare think about. A big part of what makes them so good is the simplicity of serving them fresh out of the deep fryer sans the type of sickly oily feeling you get from your neighborhood chippo. At $10 for 8 doughnut balls, also represents good value (when shared with others) in the context of the other extortionate food trucks that are probably in proximity.

so damn delicious! Such a good twist on a classic Greek dessert 😍 I got the Tella classic (Nutella), the All Timer (honey and cinnamon) and The Oreo balls and oh my goodness they were all perfect! We got all of these between me and one other person and we ate every single one, they were too good we couldn't stop! I definitely recommend giving them a try!

Friends and I decided to stop by here after walking around Queen Victoria market since it's just across the road. We tried the Dark Delight and it was sinfully delightful indeed!! The donuts were served hot and the toppings were generous. The shop has limited seating but since we were the only ones there..we sat outside and enjoyed the casual laidback ambience.

Delicious donuts!!!! Blew my mind. So so good, the donuts on its own have such a chewy texture yet still 'crunchy' on the outside. And the chocolate spread on top has just a nice consistency as well!!!

Nice to eat this hot doughnuts during cold winter days. The people here are nice. There is not much seating though so be prepared to stand and eat or take them away and eat as you go. That being said, there are some seats at the wall on the outside, good for friend-groups.

I have a slight obsession for Lukumades a Greek traditional sweet that I love. When I heard about this place I had to make a pit stop. The location is directly opposite Victoria Market, parking is a little hard and not in the most convenient spot. These little bite-sized, crispy dough balls, fluffy on the inside, sweet honey puffs were yum and as good as I have had. We ordered the classic and Tella classic. Even though I don't like breaking tradition the Tella with Nutella and the crushed biscuit was also delicious. To make it perfect I would have loved chopped nuts on my classic honey and cinnamon. We also ordered coffee and I was not expecting anything great but it actually was very good. The place is literally a hole in the wall, very limited seating inside but it did remind me of street food venues on the Greek islands. My 3 Key Pointers • There is a possibility you could be standing on the street, seating is limited. • The classics are priced the same as other options with Icecream. You may as well go, Gourmet. • The coffee was a nice surprise.

Love Greek food especially lukumades, first tried it over in Greece and have been having a craving ever since. Luckily I found out about this place not too long ago, gave it a try and boy does it taste as good as the pictures show! Definitely worth a visit if your into your sweets, you won't go wrong!
