I came here because I bought a groupon otherwise I wouldn't normally frequent Southern Cross Station food court. Pleasantly surprised with the output. Filling tasty fresh burrito. I looked at the prices and for $10, I'd definitely eat here again. An excellent price. Excellent for the work crowd and something a bit more personal than the chains surrounding the burrito man. Well done.

Got Loaded fries with chicken. Tastes good but the chicken had a large bone and fragments of bone all through loaded fries. Gave up in the end and binned it.

Sorry , my bad for 1 star Please work on rice Don’t give basmati rice and make guac fresh Also do some vibrant set up it looks old school. Follow Mad mex

The owner of this restaurant was extremely rude, he told me that I needed to be patient and that everyone was looking at me . I have never experienced such rude customer service ! That I was in the wrong part of the cue . I work close by and will never return ! To not go to this restaurant !

Just had the best beef burrito. 5 stars. Yum. I'll be back

Delicious burritos!! Staff are super friendly and quick, sat and enjoyed in the food court and was loving every bite of it 😋

The tenders and chips was awful frozen rubbery chicken, mesclun in burrito is ridiculous, the chips were soggy and there was never enough sauce on the burrito or burrito bowl. The loaded fries sauce is also terrible. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!

Awesome food. Really fresh. Helpful staff. Had the burrito bowls and couldn’t believe how much food you were served for $11. Highly recommended
Loved. This. Burrito!!
I visited on 28.03.19 and just wanted something simple and quick and boy did they deliver. Everytime I go to a Mexican outlet there is always parts of the taco or burrito that I don't like for example onions and CORIDANDER (ew) but this place lets you customise everything. It's like Mexican Subway haha
I opted for a beef burrito with rice, black beans, corn, lettuce, cheese, sour cream and guacamole. Loved it and it was cheaper than going to a restaurant.
The poor young boy at the counter was having trouble but the manager (or someone higher up) came out and served me. Efficient and helpful in choosing a drink, I went with a Mexi-Cola, which is amazing if you haven't tried it. Overall definitely will return when in Southern Cross station!
People Gotta Eat
Stumbled across this place on a Sunday. Had a pork burrito, the pork was so tasty. Word of warning, their spicy sauce is actually spicy, not like those chain mexican places.

burrito bowl is good for two people. I chose to have chicken and beef in it and requested to make it spicy. But between chicken and beef, i like the beef most. I also tried their mango shake to soothe my burning lips... 😊😊😊. Their mango shake has yogurt in it and i loved it. The taste is authentic, flavorful and satisfying...

We go there for lunch every week and it never fails to deliver, best food and most importantly the best staff you could ask for. Prices are insanely cheap for the quality and amount of food you get! Loving the great work guys :)

Best tacos. Generous servings. The serving lady was so nice. I thought I will have to pay extra for more toppings but no she even put more corn on the side *squeals* what a hidden gem! Definitely will be back.

Their system is kinda like a Subway for Mexican. I ordered the enchilada and it's big and tastes great. For 11 bucks that's not much more you can ask for.

Guess what.. I totally forgot to take pictures of the burrito I had but it was probably the tastiest burrito I’ve eaten in a while.

Packed with ingredients, the rice especially was extremely flavourful as I believe the grain that was used is basmati and it was infused with tomato flavours.. unique Mexican experience. Both chicken and beef fillings were packed with flavours. Slaw mix was as fresh as it can get!

The lady on the server line was friendly and made sure she presented and packed the burrito as well as possible. All that for just $10? I’m definitely coming back!

Tried the veggie burrito bowl, was quite awful with 70% being carrots in the name of grilled vegetables. The spicy sauce also tasted funny. Even though the fried rice and beans combo looked well done, Not coming back at all!

Attracted by the price while waiting to meet up my friend from airport at southern cross station.

Environment : it's a food court, so is a bit crowded.

Food : Good! Strongly recommend their burrito wrap.

Price : excellent! Where else you can get a $10 burrito wrap and mango smoothie at $3!

Service : staff was very friendly.

Cleanliness : good

This is the BEST Mexican food you can get in the cbd. I had the burrito bowl and the mix of flavours brought out an incredible food taste experience. I will definitely visit again!

Hidden gem. Must try.

I went for burrito with chicken. The chicken was succulent and well marinated. Love the rice. So full of flavour and not to mention the generosity of the filling.

I love Mexican food and I definitely will frequent this.

Monday turned out to be a burrito sort of day and I had been saving such a day for The Burrito man to solve. Sandwiches in the middle between Schnitz and Pizza lies a Mexican store where you pretty much get ultimate choice of what gets wrapped up in your soft tortilla. Plenty of protein options including the most delight cooks looking pulled beef and the usual suspects like black beans, rice then put contour salad type ingredients, sauces and salsas.

I was very impressed with the generous amount of filling and I added a mango lassi for an extra $2 (here’s one we prepared earlier).

Overall quite yum 😋
The Dear Luncher
The Dear Luncher has tried just about every Mexican food joint there is. From the fancy to the food court. From South Yarra to Sunshine.

The Burrito Man's Bain-Marie game is not so great. The assembly line process seems a little haphazard. The contents of this beef burrito bowl, sadly served in a cardboard box, was OK. The beef itself was pulled well and tasty. But the let down is the way it arrives and the non-meat participants. Coleslaw in a burrito bowl? Please, guys.

All in all, a very ho-hum operation, at least as far as the bowls go.

This place is fantastic. Great value for money, especially for a quick weekday work lunch. They don't charge you extra for things like guac/cheese/sour cream - a rare breed these days. Serving sizes are generous and service is quick.

A totally unassuming, small business that packs some serious flavour into their food. I knew I was going to be home alone tonight and couldn't be bothered cooking, but wanted to still eat proper food so I hung back after work and popped into Southern Cross to see what was on offer. Spotted The Burrito Man and was greeted immediately, and thought I'd give it a shot. Well, for $13 I got a massive burrito bowl packed with rice, black beans, chicken, guacamole (for no additional cost) and a bunch of different vegetables with a drink. I was skeptical at first when he loaded up my bowl, sauces and all and then popped it into the microwave to heat up but what I got I was not expecting at all. The chicken had so much flavour, the rice was cooked perfectly, the black beans seasoned well and with a delicious creamy, slightly spicy sauce. I cleaned the whole bowl out (despite now being very over full). Will probably be back for lunch tomorrow, and the next day, and the next day, and the next day and...

Stumbled across this place as i was desperate for food and was pleasantly surprised how tasty my dish was!

You can very easily veganise your meal. i got the Burrito Plate and it comes with so many options, extremely tasty and a very good portion size too!!!

Yes its food court food but i'd definitely come here again - $9.50 What a bargin!!!

I grabbed a voucher for this place on groupon deal. For the deal you get a burrito with your choice of meat and options of rice, beans, cheese, sauce, sour cream and salsa. You also get corn chips amd a drink so was a pretty sweet deal for $7. Went for the pulled pork buttito. This was delicious. Good work getting on groupon because i never heard of this place and will be happy to return for some more great mexican food.
This average rating 2.8 of this eatery doesn't sound right after looking at all the reviews here.

Is this place in a food court? Yes.
Is the food tasty? Yes.
Is the price reasonable? Yes, With the full price of $9.5 for a burrito with generous portion.

It has all the ticks for a quick, tasty and affordable workday lunch especially for people working close to southern cross station or people shopping at the outlet.

Used the $7 Groupon (Burrito, Can and Corn Chips) and it was spot on. Got the chicken burrito (they use property chicken pieces not the shredded stuff) and they don't charge any extra for guacamole which in itself is awesome. Would pay normal price so two thumbs up. As others have said the staff were very friendly.

Today I noticed Chipotle Mex in the food court! I had never seen it before so I am assuming it's quite new - it has taken over the spot where a bad sandwich shop used to be ... I do wish I had known about the Groupon deal but I can always try it another time if I'm looking for a cheap work lunch.

I ordered the crispy tacos!! Couldn't believe that I got 3 tacos for around $9. This is very good value. The best part about the tacos was the sauce and cheese. I wish there had been more sauce on it!! I found the medium sauce to be tasty but not too spicy - it was more mild.

I do think I prefer the other Mexican places in the area but I would be curious to try their other menu items. I didn't like the beef or corn much.

Went there for lunch on Groupon . Ordered pulled pork burrito and it was amazing !!! Staff was so friendly and he accommodated all my request ! Will come back :)

I went to the outlet to use a groupon worth $7 which included a burrito, chips & drink. Went for a pulled pork burrito with spicy sauce, beans, rice & cheese. It was AMAZING!! Highly recommend the place for burritos. Chips weren't anything extraordinary though.

The staff was super polite as well. Happy to pay full price for the food & amazing service. Kudos guys!!

Really tasty and Fresh. Loved having the food made in front of me. Also great friendly service. Would recommend for a quick bite. A really good take on the Chipotle chain from the US.
