Great service, fabulous coffee, good variety of food cater to vegetarians. Great atmosphere. Easy parking. This is a place to come back to. The staff are very welcoming, feels like a friendly family neighborhood coffee shop despite it being on busy glenferrie road.

SERVICE: the waitress who I often see here is amazing! Super friendly and accommodating to your needs, they really go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed
AMBIENCE/ CAFE AESTHETICS: nice cafe ambience always with the staff providing the basis for this. There’s always a customer here and moderately busy- but it never feels crowded or rushed. The lower level interior doesn’t really look that flash- I only say this because within the last five years it seems like it’s a requirement almost for a cafe interior to be modern/ minimalist. But when the French doors are opened during a sunny day it’s really lovely! Also the reading room upstairs is so nice- the roof is covered with old books and it has a nice open airy vibe to it with the natural lighting. Definitely ask to sit up here.
FOOD: Yum! To be honest I never expected much from Cafe Blac when I first visited with friends - I typically go to those cafes that look all “trendy” and “modern” or are new. But cafe Blac seems to have everything down pat- their food is some of the best I’ve had! Would recommend: smashed avo, sweet potato fries. My friend ordered this Rosti and Co dish the other day and said it had the perfect combination of everything: flavours, textures, colours and moreover had a decent portion size (not too little or small)
RECOMMENDATION: although the exterior might not catch your on the busy street of Glenferrie I highly recommend Cafe Blac for consistent and high quality service and food 😊
Had lunch at Cafe Blac today and this has become my go to place! We had the Blac Chicken Burger and the Blac Wagyu Burger, both were a taste sensation! Both came with what I can honestly say are the best crispiest golden chips I've ever had - so light and crunchy! Its so nice to eat at a cafe that uses only the best ingredients! Top notch quality food, super friendly staff and excellent coffee!!
Blac had a great atmosphere and vibe to it. Great tunes played, sound of people walking up and down glenferrie road. My breakfast was yummy , had the grilled Haloumi with balsamic salsa on grilled mushrooms, poached eggs with sourdough bread. Alright price for the portion of meal.
Nice cafe great for brunch in the more quiet part of Glenferrie Road. The big breakfast is really quite big and tasty. I like the iced chocolate too.
Excellent food served quickly and by friendly efficient staff. A firm favourite. Don't forget to use Liven here so you can also get a $50 bonus. Well worth the visit.
We had A sunny , relax late lunch down the courtyard seats. Food was pretty good , calamari's fresh ,fries and aioli was good too. Hubby had a strong latte , he's pretty happy with it .
I had tea & a homemade ice donuts . The ice donuts was a surprise! Looks pretty , taste yummy! Love the relaxing atmosphere in the courtyard . Staffs are all friendly . :) a big like !

The upstairs space is gorgeous. Decorated with hundreds of books. The food and hot drinks were delicious. We had a wonderful breakfast here in celebration of Mother's Day a couple of weeks ago.
Great coffee place! The setup in level 1 function room in quite unique. It’s a great place for corporate casual team meetings.
Nice place for a meal, especially in the courtyard at the back in a sunny day... Just the menu is a little limited.
New to the area and was a little nervous getting coffee. But Blac was friendly, welcoming and non-intimidating. And their coffee! Oh my goodness. The reason I’m reviewing is because their coffee was soo good. Smooth, hot and a great taste. Best coffee I’ve had since moving to the area!
Had really standout service from Blac today! Ordered a couple pies later in the day and they turned on the oven to heat them so they'd be their tastiest (and they were both great!!) and then gave us a little bonus treat for waiting for them to heat. Really friendly and unexpected service, will be back soon :)
While visiting Melbourne for work we found a little gem. Coffee was great, service was friendly and quick, food was absolutely delicious. Would thoroughly recommend this cafe and treat yourself to the courtyard out the back. A lovely experience.
