Fresh Ingredients, Beautiful Flavors, Good Options including Vegan and Vegetarian Option and Affordable makes it a MUST DO
As much as we loved the Falafel Salad (Vegetarian) we LOVE Mexicano
Love this place as they have heaps of healthy options of eating. The salad options are endless and they are put together fresh.
First time at a Bluebag chain and it definitely won't be my last!
Ordered:
š„ Burrito Bowl salad: black rice mix, black bean salsa, cherry tomatoes, corn, tortilla chips, and tofu ($16.00)
Review:
I don't quite know how I did it, but my food was SPICY. It was a slow burn but it was a long one - take this as a caution!
It was delicious. Fresh ingredients with just enough customization (add a protein/choose your sauce) that still made me feel like I had control over what was going into my body. Incredibly generous portions, for an affordable Definitely a great choice for a fast, quick lunch option if you're in the area.
There's also some semblance of seating outside and upstairs - make sure you come outside of rush hour to nab yourself a table!
š±Lizzieās first impression: I canāt say anything bad about this salad place. They do a DIY salad where you pick your main greens and then 4 choices of sides vegetables.
š©Lizzie enjoyed: theres such a large variation and selection of veggies and meats to choose from. I love that they change it up so thy usually have a Smokey cauliflower during winter but not in summer. The dressing is honestly really fresh and tasty.
š
Lizzie did not enjoy: the line can get ridiculous on a Normal day at lunch time so be sure to go a few minutes before peak hour.
š„Lizzie rates overall: still canāt get over how delicious a DIY salad can be!
They say men get blue balls when they are not getting any action. Well The Dear Luncher had a very similar feeling being away from the city for 3 weeks and not being able to get a Mexicana Chicken from these people. Finally, some action experienced and blue balls gone. This really is one of the better salads going around. As experienced at other Bluebag stores, when you add chorizo to it ā itās even better. It has so much meat in it that it barely feels like a salad. It feels more like a meat basket with some leaves added on. Which is exactly how The Dear Luncher likes it. And corn chips in a salad? The Dear Luncher finds he canāt have any salad now without corn chips in it. Blueballs needs to expand. More of these stores are required. Godspeed Blueballs, sorry Bluebag.
With the line spilling out the door and down the street every time I walk passed, I had to see what all the fuss was about! This is a salad bar, making salads fresh with a production line set-up. Choose from a range of salads from the menu, or make-up your own combo. My salad was nice, made fresh and a big serving so it keep you feel. The beef was really tasty too. I felt the dressing on mine was too strong and overpowering, but Iāll be back to try some others.
A good selection of salad choices to create your own salad bowl. Even though the queues can be long during lunch rush, service is quite quick.
My favourite salad is the mexicana chicken. You won't even know that you're having salad for lunch, it's that good! Love the tortilla chips and the parmesan. The Mex Caesar dressing is amazing! They use free range chicken. Long queue during office lunch hour so make sure you get in there early!
Healthy and yummy salads! The salads are great for lunch!! They also have coffee and hot lunch, but I have not tried them so far. Will definitely come back for salads!
Great for salads, wraps and quality St Ali coffee. Barista is a champ! Sometimes they don't have their full selection, but everything is of a good quality. They could do with more breakfast items. Lunch is well catered for. Recommend giving it a go!
Bluebag Fresh is one of my staple lunchtime haunts. The food is always first class with great salad options and a hot option in terms of soup which makes for a good change up. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Only annoyance can be overly fussy other customers who want to know about every ingredient to the finite detail. They also serve St Ali coffee with Almond Milk/Soy options if thatās your thing. Highly recommended and very busy. Worth the wait.
We stopped at the shop at 50 Lonsdale and ordered the best freshest salads - super value for money. Even better than the salads are the friendly, helpful staff - so patient, happy and attentive. A must stop for a healthy Melbourne lunch!

Amazing salads. Simply the best in that regards. Great range of ingredients, set menu salads and well priced make your own options. In winter their soups are good but not big enough for my liking and they don't really do much in the way of sandwiches these days, just a few options in the fridge area.
Great salads. Good variety of standard salads and plenty of customisation. Lots more generous with the ingredients than somewhere like crisp, a single salad is almost too much for a single lucnh. This place is extremely busy on weekdays, I'd advise to get there before 12 or after 1 or you'll be standing in a line for 15 mins. I get this on the reg, it's great
