Went here with a very large group at the weekend and had a great night. Despite it being a busy Saturday before Christmas everything went completely smoothly. Nice service, great atmosphere and excellent food. Just what we were after. If you're looking for a nice laid back, good value Italian place this is definitely worth checking out, especially for the first class pizzas. Thanks guys.
The other sibling of my favourite pizza place, kaprica and the food quality and atmosphere are just as high quality.

Been walking past this restaurant numerous times and it's been on my must visit list and finally we made a booking on a cold Saturday night. The restaurant was practically full and the first thing we noticed was that it is very dimly lit and that there were not many service staff but perhaps they are very efficent. The menu is not large but more than enough, however, it's so hard to read due to the low lighting - a point agreed to by our waitress. We really enjoyed our food and portion sizes were just right. It was a little difficult to get table service at times but this was sure to a lack of staff and the girls working were friendly and keen to assist. I'll be back and really worth a try.
Mr Pietro is definitely one of my favourite restaurants to dine at in Carlton. I say this with confidence as I live in the heart of Carlton and have dined at many restaurants in the area. The atmosphere is relaxed and the setting is cosy. The food is second to none! The garlic prawns are delicious and the pasta and pizza's are fantastic.
Looking forward to dropping in again soon :)
My experience at Mr Pietro always feel like coming home - the warm ambiance, hospitable hosts and most esp the delightful food. The unpretentious quality of the food they create is evident with every bite you take. It’s served with love and care that makes you come back for more! Definitely my go to italian spot!
One of my favourite spots in Melbourne. Went there with a couple of friends had the broccoli pizza and we shared a pasta. Loved the food !! Italian done right !!
I always have a great meal at Mr Pietro. The atmosphere is cosy & comfortable and the food always delicious and fresh. Have recommend this place to many of my friends!
I don't normally write reviews but believe that this lovely restaurant definitely deserves more than a 2.8 from Zomato when on google it's a 4.6 out of 5.
A beautifully designed space. So simple and so classic. A space that will not date like so many restaurants in Melbourne. The food- simple, classic Italian flavours. I doubt very much you'll find many restaurants where you can get a home made pasta with duck ragu for under $24. Definitely worth a try. We will be back here on Saturday! Thanks Mr Pietro!
It's an escape to Europe when you dine in this elegant timeless space that is very romantic with it's classic moody setting. I have been a number of times and I particularly love the intimacy of the outdoor area in summer. Great for a date!There is an an authentic honest experience from taste to service and every time I have dined here I have felt so welcome and relaxed.
Amazing service organised a booking with a big group, they agreed to a split bill. The food was tasty and on time and they accommodated a few extras we had.
Definitely recommend to anyone in the area 5/5!
The ambience was amazing. Has a Parisian vibe to it somehow. And I can’t stop thinking about the salmon pizza. AMAZINGGGG. Would highly recommend and I’m surprised this place is only 3.5. So underrated.
Was hesitant to visit because of bad zomato reviews. Food was delicious, service was fantastic, atmosphere was very Carlton-esque. The only improvement would be to add more prawns on the prawn pizza.. there were only 3 tiny prawns on our pizza. Yum yum but need more more. Will be back again!

After a movie at Cinema Nova we decided to dine at Mr Pietro, given that it had been recommended by a few of my friends. It was a great choice. We started with the mussels, which were in a white wine sauce, so delicious. Next we had the puttanesca pizza with a tomato salad, equally delicious. The ambience was calm and sophisticated and it was also reasonably priced given the elegance and delightful surroundings. Will return and definitely recommend this restaurant.
Delicious wholesome Italian food in an elegant space crafted with a timeless, aesthetic with peaceful, romantic, dim lighting.I particularly love the intimate outdoor area & the stained glass roof. There is an authenticity and honesty about the entire experience from taste, service to environment.
