No frills just amazing Thai Food!
Thai Deli is run by the husband and wife duo and the serve up amazing stir fried dishes, noodles, tom yum soup and many more. It’s a simple setup with more seating area at the back.
Fuss free decor just amazing food. We had the stir fried noodles, beef salad and the tom yum soup and really enjoyed it. We ordered to share as the portions were good and really enjoyed it.
It is a spot for a quick meal or even take away and there is a good range on the menu. Really enjoyed their pad thai and pad see ew and the tom yum soup was nice.
The beef salad was refreshing and overall we really enjoyed our meal here. The owners are friendly and they prepare the meals fresh when you order.
Thai Deli is not the spiffiest looking place but what it lacks in look, it makes up in delicious, affordable and fuss-free food. Run by a friendly husband and wife team, you’ll be assured down-to-earth and welcoming hospitality here.
All the dishes we ordered shared a common trait – bold flavours that excite your tastebuds. The Seafood Tom Yum was a hearty and tasty dish, showcasing a mix of sweet, savoury, sour and spicy. The Beef Salad was slightly on the sweeter side, but the abundance of fresh greens helped balance it out. The Chicken Pad Thai and Beef Pad See Ew both were characterised by aromatic and piquant flavours, and executed really well.
While not completely authentic, you can’t deny that the dishes here are tasty and when the food is delicious, sometimes it’s all that matters.
Had the chance to visit this little local restaurant in South Melbourne. The restaurant is family owned and run by a Thai chef and her husband.
The food here was really good, and with really generous portions for the price as well. We ordered the Chicken Padthai, which was very delicious, especially with extra crushed peanuts and chili flakes. Also loved the Beef Pad See Ew, very flavorful and tasty flavors. The Beef Salad was really yummy since the sauce had a harmonious blend of sweet, savory, and sour, enhancing the dish as a whole. Lastly the Seafood Tom Yum. The flavors of the broth were strong towards salty and sour, and doesn't taste like the typical Tom Yum you get. There's even pumpkin in there too, in which I have never seen elsewhere before.
Since I'm Thai, I know what these dishes are supposed to taste like back home. The Tom Yum and Beef Salad did not taste authentic. But, as long as it tasted good and delicious, authenticity is not the problem for me.
Would definitely love to go back here for another easy meal here.
