They have plenty of choices, including sweets, which is really nice for me to choose. Coffee is 3.8/5. There's plenty of seatings for people to dine in as well
$3.80 for a medium size of white coffee is quite reasonable for a cafe is just steps away from Southern Cross and Flagstaff station. Coffee quality can be rated between 3.0 to 3.5
If eating in a police HC canteen is a thing for you, then this is close. The food is better than canteen food though, a good range of sandwiches and hot food. Staffs are friendly and coffee is above standard. The outdoor sitting area is fully covered, great during summer time.
Third day in a row coming here for lunch & I am surprised that this place doesn’t have any reviews. It’s been a great for a quick lunch break with plenty of different choices each day for only $10. Best value meals in the city I’ve come across in ages! I only wish they were served just slightly hotter from the Bain Marie.
Grab the opportunity of morning tea break at the conference, try to explore other cafes around the venue. I was attracted by the huge venue of this cafe and the spacious set-up at the al fresco area and of course feel very safe sitting with police station located next door. Enjoying the flat white and observing people busy in social communication with coffee break is always interesting to me. What a relaxing day!
Coffee and food is excellent. Staff are very friendly.
Option of house blend, or single origin if that's your thing.
Coffee comes out very quickly, even in peak times.
We ordered Eggs Royale (poached eggs on sourdough, topped with avocado) & Mushroom, Spinach and Feta Omelette on sourdough. Both options were amazing!
Well cooked, fast delivery with UberEats.
The only disadvantage about the place is that they don't open on weekends, but they sure open early on weekdays (5:30am–3:30pm).
Definitely will order breakfast from them again.
Stayed over the road during a 4 day trip to Melbourne. Visited Code 3 twice during our stay and couldn't fault it. Very friendly manager/FOH, good selection of hot & fresh breakfast, lunch and brunch meals, great coffee. Suitable for families.
Coffee and food are excellent. The barista delivers amazing drinks consistently. I highly recommend.
Pleasant outlook and seating. Located in Melbourne West police station, but clientele is quite broad. Friendly service good coffee. Truly excellent fresh orange juice can be had with just the right amount of ginger. Wheel chair accessible.
GREAT LOCATION WITH INDOOR AND AL FRESCO OPTIONS
Code 3 is police lingo for "lunch time" so its quite appropriate that this cafe within the large Spencer St Police Station is so named :)
It's a nice spot with good views and a very modern decor. There is an indoors section - good in winter, but also a delightful outdoors (undercroft) area with direct views onto Spencer and LaTrobe Sts. Good service, decent range of items on sale and what could be safer than lunch on the steps of a police station! Its understandably very popular with police officers but equally patronised by regular citizens of the Melbourne metropolis :).
Easy access for people with mobility issues and has a very comfortable undercroft feel from the building forecourt.
Cash and cards, hot and cold rolls, sandwich and salad options, hot meals, good coffee, soft drinks , cakes.. all good quality. Recommended for a quick lunch, brunch or catching up casually with friends / colleagues for lunch
This cafe is located in very convenient place.
Got only a takeaway flatwhite.
Want to try some food next time.
Hands down, the best delivered breakfast I've ever had.
Argentina has Che Guevara, Paris has the Eiffel Tower, England has tea and scones, and China has the Great Wall. Melbourne has Code 3.
