Staff are friendly and make it a nice experience. Food is good but the cornbread could’ve been better. Tried the Po boys and many of the sides and were all lovely
The place is nice and I like the theme.
Service was good and the server was knowledgeable on the vegan options.
There's only one vegan main, the gumbo. It was tasty and interesting. Maybe would have been better with some crusty bread and a bit less salt, but good enough for a vegan option.
Extremely happy with this addition to the local scene. Authentic food in a fun setting, jambalaya was sensational and the chicken wings great too. Plenty on the menu to draw me back!
Delicious and unique!
From the second we walked in we were made to feel at home. The lady serving us was very helpful and attentive. They do a wonderful job showcasing food from the New Orleans area and we did not leave dissapointed... Or hungry! We will be back next time to try the beignets which we have heard are amazing!
From the moment of entrance to both the venue and my mouth was stellar - staff felt likes mates, drinks were downed and the food made me sport a bib
K4K never fails to disappoint. Have been here several times for different degustation dinners (amazing value for money!) and also dining with friends. Wow the food is on point! Also the Kocktail lounge in the front is the best place for Friday night knockoffs! The Po- boys are a HUGE and hush puppies are to die for! Really great serving sizes and the food presentation is beautiful. Some serious soul food here! In an awesome spot in Preston with loads of parking and a good spot to people watch out the front. The bar has an amazing range of beers in the fridge including Abita (the Purple haze is my fav) which is from New Orleans and the range of Australian craft beer on tap is refreshing. The sparkling Shiraz from Old Apple Shed is the best I have ever had! Now the staff - the most friendly upbeat and lovely people. Jo, the Venue Manager/Owner has the best demeanour and always make you feel right at home, plus her music taste is awesome. The Chef Nick continues to serve amazing food along with his kitchen staff. This is and will be the place to be!
Went out for a few drinks with a mate and we came across this new joint in Preston.
Ended up Sharing some chicken and fries washed down with a few wines.
Really cool vibe, will be back for sure to try their main meals.
Really impressed with this New Orleans-inspired joint, that manages to be both a classy restaurant and a Get Smart-themed bar. The food is Southern-inspired - think cornbread, po’ boys, seafood bisque, jambalaya - with plenty of vegetarian options. Our meal began with mini cornbreads, which were sweet, warm and served with maple butter. Then we got the pickles with bread - this turned out to be way bigger than expected with about eight different kinds of pickles (including gherkins, cocktail onions, red onions, bread and butter cucumbers and okra) and three chutneys. Everything was super tasty. For the main, I had a truly exceptional gumbo - I got the vegetarian option which was a mix of corn, capsicum, beans, okra, onion, loads of spices and pepper in a thick roux, topped with white rice and garnished with chives and parsley. Again, the serving was enormous and such good value for the price. My one regret was that I was too full to order dessert - but I’ll definitely be back for that because holy hell, they do beignets, lemon meringue pie AND pecan pie! One of those meals I’ll be thinking about for a long time.
A really pleasant surprise! My first impression was that this place was in fact “kaos” the get smart vs New Orleans themed interior with a soundtrack of 90s pop music all seemed confused
But the FOOD! There is no confusion here, the food is damn tasty!
Every dish from the cornbread to the slaw was a journey to flavour town ( except the sweet potato fritters which I found on the bland side needed to be drenched in hot sauce to give them some life ) the BEIGNETS were spectacular!!
I’m my opinion reasonable prices considering the quality of the dishes!
I don’t live nearby but I’ll for sure be back!
Awesome food awesome cocktails with a great range of beers. I highly recommend you try the crackle shaker bag. The venue has a classy but also chilled vibe. Looking forward to my next visit
Wow! What a great find this little place is! The old Tony Bianco Shoe factory in Preston, has been converted to a funky bar/restaurant with a spin on Get Smart! If you are a fan of that 60s and 70s Show and love Creole food, you have to give this place a go. Fantastic selection of entrees, mains but limited desserts. Delicious Gumbo and Jambalaya! Good selection of drinks at reasonable prices. Great food, good service and excellent vibe! Plan to visit again very soon!
A New Orleans inspired bar and eatery in Preston/Thornbury. Really nicely designed surrounds and impressive food. Great selection of traditional cocktails and newer variations. Staff were friendly and attentive, making menu suggestions when asked. Green chilli topped fritters were a highlight. Seafood dishes were especially good.
Good place for groups.

From the amazing food to the amazing staff we were transported to a southern foodie heaven. The only thing that could have made our experience even better would have been amazing beer, OH and guess what they had that to.
Delicious food! I had the cauliflower po’boy which doesn’t appear on the online menu but it’s super tasty! Also important to note that a lot of the meals marked “VA” (vegan available) can also be made vegetarian (I love my dairy). Very friendly and attentive staff. Wish we’d had more room to try everything on the menu!
Fantastic food and service. We had the fried chicken with sides and pecan pie. Loved every part of it. Very reasonable prices.
Kitch cool. Get smart bar theme will mature with growth. Great desert. Yum pork crackling. Great cocktail selection. Potential!!!
Fantastic food and great atmosphere, the night we went they had live music. The service was good, but they were flatout so the food was slow coming out. Turned out good as it gave us more time to drink and enjoy music. Will be going back for more Gumbo and jambalaya
