Review Criniti's Southbank - Melbourne

V Jeyakanthan
I see a lot of negative reviews of Criniti's and cannot fathom why. I absolutely loved it here. Service was excellent and food as amazing. Had the steak and ribs combo, opted for the lamb ribs and wow I was blown away. The lamb was slide off the bone tender and glazed perfect. The steak was cooked exactly the way I wanted. Juicy and seasoned well. 100% will recommend and return, no doubt. Will be my go to next time I'm in Melbourne.

They made our special day, really special 🤩 The staff is just amazing. And don’t even get me started with the food 🤤 We ordered a 1m pizza and it served all 8 of us well. It’s nice that you can customise and get different selections 🍕

They have many varieties of food and it looks really nice but taste is soo bad and really overpriced. Management was unbelievably worse. We have given our order and we have waited 30-45min then lastly we asked from a waiter then suddenly they said they haven’t get that order. After that they got our order again We still waited and we got a pizza doesn’t have any taste at all we have paid 70-80$ for nothing. I would have given 1 star for this but they earn another star for their interior design.

We went for cocktails and dessert. The place is absolutely gorgeous but a few things made the experience a bit weird. There were two tiers of waitstaff; one type could take orders but the other couldn't. We had to try pretty hard to get attention from them. The pizza and pasta we saw on other tables looked great. We ordered the lava sundae ($30) to share. It was huge, three of us shared it and had some left over. But we wouldn't have had any left over if it had been nicer. The ice cream felt a bit cheap in taste and texture, and the baked goods were lacking a certain something. They only had one type of glass. It was bizarre to be given a cocktail jug (which was delicious) and have to pour it into the same type of glass as is sitting on my bedside table at home. A man on the table next to us had to use the same type for his beer. They were small latte glasses. The bathrooms matched the rest of the place - beautiful but with some key mistakes that brought the rating down. The toilets were not clean, they all had at least some water on the seats. The paper towels were out and the bin was full of them. The bin was also under the very strong hand dryer so there was litter everywhere. The back of the toilet door had a sign offering a free dessert in exchange for proof of a 5-star review; I found this unethical. 2 stars seems harsh but at a place that charges $30 for a Carbonara my expectations are a bit higher. The level of service and quality of food didn't meet the price point for me, and the mild bribery was a sour note.

Service was good and food came out reasonably quickly. Wood fire pizzas were delicious. I read some bad reviews about how the take away service was horrible, so we decided to eat in and have no complaints. Only complaint is we ordered a jug of Coca-Cola and it came out when we were ready to go.

the food was okay, meh. But I love the vibe there, everything was so vibrant, fun and such a great place for friday night party!! tortellini: a bit plain to be honest 👀like it was supposed to be a truffled one but it tastes like nothing. ribs: the flavour is there, the texture is nice. Overall pretty good 👍🏻 They have discount for students so don’t forget to bring your card 😉 —— 📍Crinitis 🍅2.8/5 💵 ~$23/ food

Good place with very nice vibe ✨️ food was just amazing. Loved the pasta ! Really great for friends and family gathering.

Really good food, excellent portions! We got the share plate expecting three sl8ces of salami and cheese, and got two big plates of various things. The two of couldn't finish it! And what we saw coming out to other patrons looked delicious!
Eatwmon
The service was good as we went around the afternoon on a weekday so it wasn’t busy and the staff were lovely. Although the service was good the food just wasn’t as great as we ordered the penne romana pasta and it was just so bland! We had to keep adding salt before each bite and it was still not good.

Overall rating: 3.5

A double-story restaurant with Italian themed decor, great for hanging out with family and friends on a night out.

We ordered the big platter of pizza with various kinds and we're all decent and enjoyable to eat. Beautiful and structured presentation of our LONG 1m pizza. Crust was the disappointing part, it was cold and tough, very hard to cut through with the pizza cutter.

Food: 3
Value: 4
Service: 3.5
Ambience: 3

Food was bland and unseasoned. Pasta sauce was way below par and pasta itself tasted straight out of a packet. Something a primary school cooking class would make. Not worthy of its location on Southbank.

We really enjoy Crinitis. It’s always got a good vibe and we love their pizzas and salads. It’s good if you’re looking for a fun spot for a group of friends. Their meter long pizzas are tasty and fresh.

First would like to state that I loved crinitis and is always packed... this time there was barely 20 people in the restaurant so not busy. Ordered entree for it to come out with missing 2 dips... then to take 10 minutes to bring out only 1 of the missing 2. Ordered drinks as soon as I walked in both my partner and I were seated for at least 5 minutes before we went to the toilet at seperate occasions both walked passed our drinks sitting on the counter not to mention the minamum 15 staff members all walk past and not even acknowledge it. Got our mains I paid 32$ for a chicken slice not even a breast with some cream topping with COLD ‘steamed vegetables’ ordered a pasta that clearly stated Italian sausage and red onion came out with pancheta then what we thought got corrected came out the exact same. Clearly not Italian sausage. Then went to pay spoke to the manager who did not even know what the entree came with... let alone what came in our pasta that she thought she corrected. Overall just very disappointed would have rather spent 90$ on cheeseburgers from maccas.

Food is not worth the money at all. Pizza barely had toppings and food was incredibly overpriced. It was not tasty at all. If it wasn't my friends birthday then I wouldn't choose to dine here. Hoping you guys change add more ingredients into your dishes and don't be stingy with it as you are taking our money. Would give it 0 stars if I could.
Remini
Would give a 0 if i could. Prices are too high for extremely simple dishes with nothing special to it. Waiters are rude and unhelpful. Just dont come here.
Marilena P
firstly ignored at the door, then to a sticky table, too long wait for our order to be taken, then food came before wine, then ended up with 2 wait staff bringing the wine, then main came when entree wasn't finished. Total disappointment for such an expensive restaurant in a prime location of our Massive world class city of Melbourne. Will highly not recommend this restaurant. Lack of professionalism. A big bunch of young staff, all walking around, with a huge lack of quality service.
Louis Booth
Ridiculously large portions of pasta served. Neither my friend nor any of the other diners around us could make any inroads into the quantity, so a huge amount of food wasted, the restaurant falling into the misguided belief that more is better. Pasta was overcooked and swimming in the sauce. Service, although friendly, was very slow and yet the restaurant was only about 3/4 full. Very disappointing evening.
Will Brown
Terrible pizza, raw dough

Burger had overcooked patties in stale bread.

If you paid me. I would not eat here
Melb_Belly
Came here on a weekday with a large group. Even though we booked there were plenty of empty seats upstairs at around 8pm.

Friendly helpful service. We ordered 4m worth of pizza and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Toppings were fresh and plentiful.

The pizza came out reasonably fast considering its size.

I took my wife out for dinner on the 29.10.19 at Criniti's in Southbank Melbourne.
I opted for the BBQ seafood plate for $55. The meal was very dry, the 2 king prawns were cooked / split with the shells still attached, and about 4 small calamari rings the size of a 20c piece.
Disappointing for a meal of this cost.
The waiters and waitresses were very friendly, but the food left a lot to be desired.
Oska Phoenix
My partner ordered some fish and chips, and the fish was horrible. Looked very cheap. She didn’t even eat it. Poorly done. They need to improve the quality. Won’t order again.
Good Food Good Mood
Unfortunately no longer in the entertainment book but the extensive menu has something to satisfy everyone and frankly pizza and pasta are always enough to keep me happy. If only the service was as good as the food

Update
We recently had some overseas visitors to Melbourne so we thought to wow them in the novelty form of a metre long pizza. Impressive concept as you can chose three options and share between four or so people and visually it's pretty awesome.

The service was extremely slow, it took an eon for our arancini entree to arrive but we couldn’t fault the food and certainly atmosphere in spades.

Original review
I love Criniti's in Sydney but there seems to be some sort of disconnect in Victoria. Having recently opened a second Melbourne branch I found myself engaging in my favourite pesto gnocchi. I was pretty happy with my meal but two others had ordered the risotto which arrived looking like plated vomit and apparently tasted just as bad.

Credit to them when the table was cleared and the unappetising mess remained half finished the manager removed them from the bill (and believe me the place isn't cheap so the final bill was still pretty hefty). My friends were clearly still looking fairly unimpressed so he also tried to offer us something else complimentary such as a round of drinks. I said we would like a Nutella donut (there's a pretty enticing display of them near the register) and four (one each) promptly arrived, no charge.

Full points for addressing the issue with strong customer service. Also love the interiors. Fit out is perfection
* note the offending risotto can be seen at the top of the gnocchi photo
Walter
Criniti has okay food, however for the price I wouldn't come back. I ordered pizza and it was okay, just your average basic pizza, the spaghetti was quiet bland, but the ribs were pretty good.

We have been going to Criniti's (Sydney and Carlton) for years and decided to give the Southbank one a try. BAD IDEA.

The tables can barely fit one person’s main and entrée and yet they try to squeeze four people around it? What is even more unbelievable is that when we asked the waiters to move to a bigger table, they had told us that all other tables were fully booked on Tuesday at 6:30PM. The restaurant was completely empty and hadn’t even opened it upstairs floor yet. Even the waiters that were bringing us the food struggled to fit everything on the table but they refused to change the table. Food itself wasn’t up to the standard of the other locations either. I don’t understand how the experience and quality could differ so much from location to location. Where is your quality control?

In short, avoid Southbank and make the trip to Carlton instead!
Vinnie Furina
Sorry this place has changed, pizza is real crap , the pizza was the worst I’ve even seen and especially $95 for a metre pizza with ingredients of 1 large pizza. With rocket salad all run done the middle with no ingredients under it.
I spent $300 at this restaurant and wanted to just walk out.
I don’t understand a Italian pizza shop run by all Non Italians , cooks pizza makers waitresses.
What is going on in this industry.
I would Not recommend this place to anyone .
Honest Foodie
Overpriced pasta which tastes average with minimal, basic ingredients used. Definitely not worth it for the price charged. Better off going to degraves street for a better pasta and ambience for half the price.

Went there on Friday lunchtime. There were not many customers yet I need to wait for my pizza to come more than one and a half hours. Wanted to ask the waiter what's going on, he replied that as I asked for serving starter then main, I had to wait for it. I never knew that the time between a starter and main should be around 1:30 hours.

Besides, food quality is completely mediocre. I have been here for 3 times (previous 2 I was invited). Tried around 6-7 different dishes and none of them surprised me. I would say their food absolutely unmatches with the price. I have eaten almost all pizza stores in Melbourne CBD and they can only rank below average.

Not returning. Goodbye.
Edithmarina.rock
Service was 5 stars- The waiters were prompt to serve and very attentive with requests despite it being a busy Friday night- they even took the time to sing happy birthday to my friend! The 3 types of pizza we ordered were all tasty though nothing special! That being said I would definitely return if in a large group!

Came here on a holiday in Melbourne as it was recommended to us by a friend. It was so busy and the music was playing so loudly that we couldn’t talk at all whilst we were there. I ordered the easter special espresso martini and it looked absolutely nothing like the picture advertised (was missing half the things that i ordered it for) but did taste good. My mum ordered the vegetarian penne pasta and they completely left out 2-3 of the main ingredients in her dish (feta, eggplant, pine nuts, etc), and it tasted like just olive oil and pasta. My dad got the four cheese gnocchi which was pretty good, and I got the bruschetta pizza crust which was okay. Giving this place 2 stars because in terms of food quality and service, it should not be as expensive as it is- my meal was just bread and tomatoes and cost $23.90.
ALICE ⚡️
came here during the 50% off your bill deal, we ordered pasta and pizza and the bill was under $30 for two!!!!
look i can’t complain for what i paid would i come back? probably not
Kim Logan
Food was ok.. not worth $20 a $30 for the mains we ordered but it fine. The service wasn’t good though, we walked in before 5pm and asked for a table for two and they said they were booked out till 10pm.. it wasn’t busy. My friend checked online and there were 5 available booking times for two at that location, we booked a table for 5:15. We sat down before 6pm and it still wasn’t busy when we left. When we ordered they got the order wrong even though we repeated our order twice. The was one waiter who was friendly so yay to him but pretty meh for everything else.
Burgerman77
Massive menu with so many options. Been a couple of times with a large group and can’t go past the 2M pizza. Quite expensive but the novelty of the MASSIVE pizzas is worth it. Great for a big group!

Felt like a bit of a tourist trap. We work in an office nearby and couldn’t get into the new DOC restaurant, so opted for Crinitis instead - we walk past it every day but have never been in. We had booked a table and knew about their lunch specials. However, when we sat down we were given their huge menu with an endless list of expensive dishes. It took us a while but eventually we asked about the lunch specials. Only then were the specific lunch special menus brought out to us - at a much cheaper price. It left us wondering if they only bring the lunch specials out to people who ask and leave the people who don’t know about them to pay full price (the tourists). Anyway, the food was ok. Some dishes better than others. But as a group of office workers, we won’t be back.

Very nice restraunt in a great location. Very busy though so make sure to make a booking. Pizzas and pasta are great and staff are very attentive.

We decided to come here due to my wifes love for gnocchi. Very cool place, felt lively with lots of groups sharing 1-3 meter pizzas.

The gnocchi pumpkin with pine nuts, goats cheese and spinach was on paper, exactly what my wife was after. Unfortunately it wasnt up to standard. As a lover of salt, I was shocked to taste that it was disgustingly salty. I dont think I have ever said that about a dish. The waiter noticed that my wife wasnt enjoying her meal so he approached, and insisted after we said not to worry, to change or remake the meal.

Unfortunately the second one wasnt much better. Not salty but it was very oily/fatty and bland.

I got the azzurri pizza which was very nice. Very expensive though at $33.

The waiter then bought out a jam donut each on the house. The donuts were average but we were very full.

The waiter had also taken the gnocchi off the bill which we felt wasnt necessary. I was very grateful for how nice the waiter was, i tried to tip him which he would not accept.

I couldnt, given the experience give this any higher than a 3, but i will most likely return due to the great customer service.

Overpriced and average food - there are plenty of much better food and drink options nearby. My pizza was soggy and I nearly broke a tooth on an olive stone (which was in my pizza). See photo. Overall a very disappointing experience which comes at a very high price!
MrMena
Place was extremely busy and the service was slow. The pizza was good but everyone left feeling disappointed with their meal. They have a massive menu which can cater for everyone’s needs but the quality just wasn’t there on the night.
Matt O'Brien
Great food, great service and a great atmosphere. The prices reflect the size of the meals. You’ll leave with full, happy, bellies. Will definitely return.

Great pizza! Had the 1m. Capriciosa, Margarita, Italian sausage. They were excellent! Service was good. Only thing was that it gets very noisy. I suggest go upstairs it’s quieter. Would go back again.
Saania Habeeb
Love the authentic Italian food served at Criniti's, and it's HALAL! The menu is extensive (so you'll be sure to find something for everyone) and the food is incredibly tasty. The pizzas are a definite win, but my fave is the lasagne and BBQ ribs . Staff are really sweet and do a litte drum performance when bringing out the cake for a bday!
Natasha Vena
Fantastic food!! Always happy with the meals and value for money. There is a lot to choose from - everyone is happy. Would highly recommend Crinitis ❤️

A nice Italian place in Southbank along the river. I had a pizza and a pasta.
The pizza was awesome, a great woodfire pizza with a nice amount of topics. However the pasta was not as good. It wasn't bad but just didn't wow me
Kris L
A big Italian restaurant in Southbank along the beautiful Yarra River that enjoys the city and Crown Casino crowds. The decor is beautiful inside but it’s extremely busy (and noisy) on the Friday that we visited and the service was really poor. We had a booking that they couldn’t find for a while and the wait staff kept giving us mixed signals (to queue outside, then come inside, then back outside). After all that, we finally got our table to find the food & drinks are pretty pricey. The waitress that eventually served us was really sweet and bubbly so that gave us some hope. She recommended the linguine frank sinatra and nonna catelina pizza which were both amazing!! (and definitely made us less grumpy).
Overall the food was certainly delicious but given the value and also the drama with service at the start we are unlikely to come back for a while.
Rifan Thamrin
It's just overpriced pasta all over their menu. It tastes normal. Service was slow. But if you're feeling hungry and you're around Southbank, their serving portion is massive. This place is infamous for its quantity over quality.
Kcfoodieee
Have been here on many occasions and tried many things on the menu. The staff are a little slow to take your order but the food is always fresh and delicious.
Nick Kikas
Great food, atmosphere and staff. I had heard a lot of good things about this Restaurant and I finally got around to going there today for the first time with the family. I would definitely go back again :)
Lyzee Manitta
Ordered the burnt butter sage pasta. Not burnt at all, just tasted like melted butter. Terrible!! And for $35 per meal..I’d rather go to MacDonald’s
Jennifer
Went here for the first time last week. Food is pretty nice, and there’s a huge variety of selections. However, I feel as though they’re overpriced as the food don’t deserve the prices allocated to them. I found the customer service to be good though and the food to be quite pleasant
Renata
Service was fine but the food leaves much to be desired.

My partner and I had been here before and tried the pizzas which were disappointing, but we decided to try our luck with something else..

My partner and I shared the Bolognese Nachos and the Australiana burger with chips.. Both were of good portion size, but poor quality.
The nachos had zero bolognese on it.. It was just a plate of corn chips swimming in sour cream and sauce.
The burger had some nice crispy bacon on it, but the burger lacked flavour. There was no sauce on it and the bun looked like a McDonald's burger bun. Pretty disappointing for a $30 meal..

Overall Criniti's has a ridiculously large menu, but they don't seem to do any of it well. It's incredibly overpriced and the meals are not value for money.. We will not be trying our luck here again..
Steven Yuniansyah Suyanto
TRUST ME, CRINITI’s IS REALLY REALLY NICE! You have to try the steak they offered which is really nice and awesome. Price is okay, and its not that expensive. Location is great as well, and i love the staff! They will ask our experience with the food which is really convinient for the customer! Would definitely come back soon!
Dylanfitzgeralddd
As soon as I walked in I felt like a burden to them. I asked for my booked reservation and a girl rolled her eyes and walked away apparently meaning I should of followed her which she rudely pointed out. Otherwise the ambience and food was nice.
Farhan Khodabux
My wife and daughter treated me to this restaurant on Father's Day. The food was a big disappointment. The chicken Parma was $37 and was the size of half a palm and tasted horrendous (didn't taste anything like a normal chicken Parma) you had to pay extra to get a salad or chips as well. My wife ordered a risotto and although it was better than my Parma, it wasn't the best. Definitely have had better. It was a huge disappointment. The staff weren't that friendly either and didn't help accomodate to my one year old daughter. They took forever to get a high chair and it was filthy dirty. Overall a huge disappointment after all that you hear on their radio advertisement.

Service was a bit lacking, the ‘greeter’ at the door seemed to act annoyed at customers actually coming in. Our actual waiter, however, was much friendlier.

Wait times seemed a tad long, despite the place not being too busy. The food was a bit overpriced, but at least tasty. Was it worth the 25-minute wait? Probably not.

I can’t help but feel this place could be much better if they just cut down the menu to specialise on only a few things.
Falula Clearwater
Last night I visited Crinitis, it was for a booking and we had a set menu. The food was average, we were left without water for a while, seemed like there was a lack of staff OR a lack of communication (or both)
There was only one staff member who I’d applaud and he was a young (going to assume Indian) gentleman who was ace. We were served our canoli cake and we were given napkins to use as plates (which was ridiculous).
Wouldn’t recommend nor return to Crinitis.
Tayla
Really overpriced pasta and pizza, food takes long to be served. Went for a friends birthday, brought out the cake without a knife and when we asked for a knife waitress was rude about it. Aside from that the food is good.
Steven Heng
Came here on a Thursday night, booked for a table for 9. They would not give us a table that sat 10, one person had to sit at the end of a table having waiters bringing pizzas over their heads. We quizzed the waiter about moving and was told that everything else was booked, but for the time we were there not a single group came. There were easily enough tables to fit another 5 groups of 10 people!

Another issue was that the waiter told us that we could pick 4 types of pizza and would come with 12 slices for each type, but only 3 types of pizza came with 9 slices.

Never again.

SohzFoodTrail
The food was so amazing that I ended up not taking pictures at all. Potato wedges with sweet chili sauce and chives and later on penne pasta and wine. Huge quantity, great ambiance and friendly staff. We asked for more cheese and they were more than happy to pep up the pasta. For the price ..this place is great food to celebrate.
Belinda J
Both times we have been here as a family and they’ve squeezed us in with no booking on a Friday evening. Food is tasty. Great service. Bit on the pricey side.
Ross Lakin
The food was fine. The service was poor. After having a booking for over a month we were taken to the worst table in the restaurant. This expensive experience made us feel... used. Would not recommend and will never go back.

Criniti’s is a vibrant chain of restaurants with Melbourne outposts in Carlton and Southbank. High energy dining in a unique space, Criniti’s has a cosmopolitan glow about it with a downtown design.

The kitchen serves delicious Italian cuisine which centres on providing patrons with the most amazing array of choices so there is something for everyone.
Geoff Hooper
Enjoyed a lovely brunch here, good coffee friendly staff and good menu selection of soulful food with generous serves to satisfy the cold morning hunger. One to keep in mind when next in town for another visit.

Service: ⭐️
Taste: ⭐️⭐️
Ambiance: ⭐️⭐️
Value: ⭐️

Overpriced pizzas and pastas, and bad customer service.

The antipasto came first and it was delicious. No problems there.

We ordered the 1m pizza and it took them almost an hour to make. There were hardly any ingredients on the pizza and the crust was undercooked, but burnt on top.

We also ordered the 1m Nutella pizza. Before the pizza arrived, one of the waiters approached us and asked if we could leave because another booking was coming in. I was slightly offended because we were still waiting for the Nutella pizza, which was taking them forever to make. The waiter said he would check on it and the pizza arrived 45 minutes later. If you want us to return the table, then get the chefs to cook faster!

When I went to pay, the server was too busy telling the waiters off and hardly acknowledged me. Not even a simple ‘please’ or ‘thank you’.

Overall, the pizzas were average, prices were exorbitant and service was unsatisfactory.
Jessica Saunders
We’ve been to Crinitis Southbank three times now and doesn’t disappoint. Yes, the service may be slow when they are extremely busy, however the food makes up for it. We have had pizzas and pasta and entree calamari and entree popcorn prawns. Popcorn prawns are interesting, probably wouldn’t order again, however, every other food item we have had has been so so good!

I don’t understand the low stars. We were very satisfied and will continue to return.

Dined here multiple times, yet to be disappointed. The menu is HUGE it always seems to take a while to decide on what to eat, the pasta and pizza are both fantastic.
Charlie And Ko Reviews
Wow, Crinitis has a huge menu - it was almost overwhelming. The pizzas were beautiful however the rest was average. Definitely stick to pizza or pasta and be really clear with the waiters as trying to make a minor change to an item was seemingly complicated. We also found it to be expensive for what it is. Great for big groups, definitely do the pizzas to share though
Alessandro Love Good Food
When you guys get to many complain not just on Zomato but at the restaurant as well there is a problem. Please sit down all together and bring the restaurant where belong to. You have a nice position good service cut your menu down and please provide a better and faster service for your patrons.
Alex Owen
Nice pizza, but sadly the lack of service does not make up for it... please consider better staff training. Service with a smile = return customers and better ratings
Constantlyeating
The food is without a doubt delicious, but the staff definitely need some training. After being seated, we were hounded by the same gentleman 3 times about being ready to order even though we were waiting for a third person to arrive. Once she arrived, she literally picked up the menu to have a read and the waiter pestered us yet again as if he was in a hurry when the restaurant was not busy in the slightest.
Once we were nearing the end of our meal, another waiter suddenly came and grabbed our dishes from in front of us without evening asking if were were finished. We didn’t even have a chance to stop him before he had stacked our plates and the near complete pasta dishes on top of one another.
Would probably recommend the Carlton location over this one.
Thalia Cottis
The food is always amazing but the service and wait time is shocking. Last time I went with a group of friends there was over an hour wait and kept getting asked by different staff members several times if the food was good even though we hadn't even received it which shows there is also poor communication between staff members. I had also burnt my hand very bad before I got to the restaurant and when I asked for something from the first aid kit I was told there is nothing they can.do about it which I find it hard to believe as its a busy restaurant and there is no way there wasn't anything in the first aid kit to use. I have not been back and dont think I will
Katherine Chiu
Service was great and the food (being pizza) was lovely. A super friendly manager served me and let me sit at pizza counter where I got to watch them make pizza. And no I did not have to wait long.
I saw someone's pasta being sent back but other than that my pizza was great!
Thea Cruz
I ordered a creme brûlée - something so simple and pre made yet this pathetic restaurant still got it wrong and took one hour to deliver a box of cream with berries instead! NO CREME Brûlée included. An hour to get one item to me which wasn’t even in the bag!!! How the people in the kitchen can be allowed to work in the kitchen is beyond me. Do not bother to buy here. It was my first and last time! Worst experience ever!!!
Abbey Baldacchino
Such an incredibly extensive menu! There are so many options of every variety of Italian food you could think of. The food is all super delicious with many items easily altered to be vegan and GF options also available. PLUS some of the best moscato I’ve ever had
Sophie Pearson
Very expensive, food was okay but not worth the price. Service was shit. Would come again but not if I’m paying. The set up of the restaurant was very nice and enjoyed taking photos in the bathroom.

Had a awkward experience today at this joint. Rocked up at 11:30am and the waiter almost looked disappointed he had a customer lol we sat down and then he gated off the entrance as if to let people know they're closed. Then he just continued cleaning without even giving us a menu or offering any drinks etc. Had to call him over to get us a menu then he pissed off to the kitchen, sick of waiting we just left. After reading some of the reviews in here it kinda makes sense, your service is pathetic!
Nicolas Vds
Service is terrible. I waited for the waiter to come and it took him 30 mins to come and later when we ordered we waited 1 hour and 45 mins for them to come with the appetiser and then one more hour for the main course to come. Would not recommend these place to anyone
Shirley Truong
The foood came out very slow and they tried to rush us out when food has only been out for 20 minutes.. so therefore “crinitis” is average food and service
Dumba
The main problem with this place is the wait staff are not the most attentive. We had a waiter who did not know what Shiraz or pappardelle were. As this is a busy place the staff need to be more knowledgeable. However, the food is actually really great, albeit with very large portion sizes.
Ellen Ribolli
Don't know how anyone was even eating here. Arrived for an 8pm booking.. after a while got some pizzas for entree.. it's now 10:15pm and after many requests we are told our main is coming.. more pizza. I'm sure that's worth the hefty fee we have paid.. not!!!! Drink service was the worst I have ever encountered. Asked many different waitresses for drinks to be told they can't serve me??? Disgusting service and would give less than a 1/10 if possible

Went here after RMIT graduation as a request from the daughter, concerned about the low rating but agreed to go. Surprised as the place was very busy and the service and food were very good, only criticism is the prices, well I suppose the rents are steep by the river.

Pizza was good and the service was friendly enough once we got someone’s attention to get seated. Wasn’t impressed by the Sunday surcharge on top of pretty expensive pizza prices.

Did the set menu with family and was beautiful food in huge quantities!!! Gluten free options were delicious, garlic bread was drool worthy, cheesy rice dish was amazing and the foot long pizza, also good!! Got lots to take away and the service was attentive and helpful. Had a fantastic night out.

2.5 stars for the service of the floor staff and the speed of service. HOWEVER, our pizza which was extremely thin and costed was $51.80!!!!!!! INSANE ! Very over priced .salad was $15.92 which was ridiculous because it was just a leafy letus with minimal extra ingridents and near to no dressing.
Good service .... seriously over priced

The service here tonight was 10/10
All the staff were friendly, efficient and professional.
I have no idea why the rating is so low????
The food was a SOLID 3.5/5
The pizza was 4/5-super thin base with cheese crust
Chicken salad was 3.5/5 - too much creamy dressing on lettuce
Man was happy with med/rare steak

Great place to meet a group of friends/central locale for family gathering

Serving sizes are absolutely huge

Didn’t have very high expectations when we came due to the low ratings we saw on Zomato. However, we were pleasantly surprised with both the food and the service. We came at 1:30 on a Friday, so it wasn’t too busy - staff were very friendly and attentive, and food came out quickly too.

We got the metre pizza with Margherita, Hawaiian and pepperoni n cheese - the pizza was thin and crispy, fresh and very delicious. We also got the sweet potato fries which were very fresh and crispy, and the sauce was quite spicy. For mains, we got the domenico’s (the bread was delicious), barramundi, steak, and veal parmigiana. Also got an espresso martini which tasted very good too.

All the food completely exceeded our expectations, and we wondered why it has such bad ratings! Usually when I pass this restaurant, it’s always busy and crowded with people. But I think it’s better to go when they’re not too busy, as the staff are able to be more attentive to your table.

Overall, we had a very surprisingly pleasant experience!

Great food, questionable service. Every time. So much so this is how I quote the restaurant to people. Go at your own risk - expect to have to correct the staff, follow up about your order, and then triple check the bill.

Pizzas were okay, the fig salad was quite nice. The service was terrible! Booked a table
For 8pm but was not ready for 830. Would not come back

Sadly I was so disappointed by this place as I had high hopes from the look of the menu!
I ordered the gnocchi Napoli and sadly it was extremely mushy and had no flavour, this including the sauce!
My boyfriend had the lamb ribs which tasted great! Only downfall is the paper at the bottom goes soggy as ribs are saucy and so many times he ate the paper cause it got stuck to the meat!
On a positive note, we got the prosciutto bruschetta which was yum!
Unfortunately service was also slow too, we asked for the bill 3 times to 3 different waiters.
I never write bad reviews but unfortunately this place let me down :(

This place is big and I was not looking forward to it as the Carlton Crinit's is trash. However, due to the menu variance and location, we decided to visit with the family. The joint is amazing, very busy, staff was pleasant, however they seem to be under pressurs due to the demands from the busyness of the place. The food is way over overpriced. The portitions are massive, but the food is mediocre at best and you are paying an arm and a leg for it. The only thing crinits does right, is their pizza's. The crust is amazing and their taste is worth it.

Slow and unfriendly service, overpriced and mediocre food. I don't understand how this place can still be in business. There's many better options elsewhere. Won't recommend.

If you go there for trial working, they don't pay for this and later probably you can't get the job. Because they don't need staff. Just they will say that thank you for coming. You will just stay with your hard working. Just I want to warn you 😉

Sad Sad Sad! Poor customer service! Very loud restaurant! Make sure to take some Panadol with you when you go. I can almost guarantee you'll walk out of there with a headache! We were waiting forever for the waiter to take out order. Asked for tobasco sauce and the waiter completely forgot. I had to go to the kitchen and ask for it. The oysters Kilpatrick are horrible! Massive pieces of bacon on top of the oysters. It's so difficult to eat it. And tastes sad! I think the chef needs to take a walk next door to the Meat and Wine Co. and take a few tips on how to cook oysters.

Then only 2 meals arrived. By the time my husband almost finished his dinner, my dinner arrived! COLD!!!!! It is such a shame. I aksed for warm veggies and by the time my dinner was finished my veggies arrived. Sad! So sad! I am so disappointed. I will NEVER go back. What a waste. It's not the first time but will surely be the last!

Service was horrible and good took forever ! I would not recommend this place at all. Food was super average and we asked the waiter 4 times where our food was ! Totally disappointing
Oh dear! So much potential but left with a bad dining experience!

Location: I mean Southbank is where it's at in terms of dining with a view in Melbourne and although Criniti's is slightly off the best spots it ain't bad at all.

Food: Good flavours and decent portions but in my opinion definitely overpriced! There are heaps of restaurant with similar food nearby that offer a better location and similar if not cheaper prices.

Service: The real reason for the low rating. When a table near us was cleared the staff member somehow managed to almost get a fork in my face that landed on my, luckily, empty plate infront of me. And despite the anticipated apologetic behaviour and questions about whether she could help me, all I got was a weird stare that almost resembled a smile before a quite fake sounding "sorry" came out. Seeing how this particular staff member treated the rest of the staff it is even worse to notice that must be some sort of supervisor or manager.

To us the dining experience is highly influenced by service as it shows the respect of the diner who visited a particular place among 100s of restaurants to choose from. Seeing the location and quality of the food it is a bit shame to us that the experience was such a let down. Won't be back.
Bill
terrible dinner, the appetite was so terrible, as well as the pizza and meatball, even Coles pizza is much better, I have no ideal how could they cook like this.
Ale
Disgraceful dining experience. It used to be my favourite italian restaurant but...once it became popolular... the quality got tremendously poor! And they treat customer badly! I have ordered a "burrata" and they serve me a pizza with a whole mozzarella on top! Once upon a time there was the real "burrata" ... Once upon a time there was a good restaurant... This is what happen when you choose easy $$$ over quality!! In the short term you might save money buying poor quality ingredients... but in the long term.. You are gonna loose your customers and above all your reputation...! What a shame...
Poor service staff - rude and inattentive waiting staff. Charged us for food ordered by other tables, which was erroneously sent to us and refused multiple times by us, and made it difficult to get a refund for the aforementioned food.

Love this place! Only ever been for breakfast. Friendly staff and yummy food.

We had the eggs benedict and smashed avo. Lovely to see they offer almond milk as a substitute (lactose intolerant and can't stand soy) we will be back :)

Omg will def come back for 3m pizza. So delicious. Food come for days !
Place itself is s little squishy.
Menu is wayyyyy too big.
Wood fire pizzas are the best in Cbd !
Good for bday parties !

Had the 2 metre pizza between 12 other mates we ordered 6 different flavours in each corner... every slice was awesome because you didn't know what you'll get so you just surprised yourself. It was so damn delicious would recommend for massive dinner parties. Food came out quick which was a plus!! Service was great the guy came to check up on how everything was. Even shared a cabonara with my partner and got a taste of the baked mac and cheese which was suburb. Affordable and def will be back to try the linguini with garlic prawns baked in paper!! The interior was dimmed and was very impress by the atmosphere. Was told that the Carlton one is even way better. Will def that out next time!
