First time went this restaurant. Service quite good. Price was average. We ordered 2 drinks and noodles it around AUD 40. The lychee sparkling was pretty good...And the noodle was a bit spicy for me, maybe will try to order less spicy. Food portions were big...definitely will come back again !

This restaurant is surprisingly very underrated. I don’t get all the bad reviews. I had dinner there for the first time last night and I found the food to be really good. We had burning dry noodle, beef slice & ox tongue in chilli sauce and glutonious rice with brown sugar for dessert. The noodle was delicious. Beef slice was fresh and the quality of beef was better than similar dish I had in other restaurant. Dessert was lovely. Glutonious rice had nice, silky texture. Something I haven’t had in the past. Yes, service needs to be better. But overall, it was an enjoyable dinner and i will be back.

One of my favourite places to come for a casual meal. When it first opened, I was excited that I would finally have a place to have chongqing food -which I loved when I visited Chongqing. The cuisine is known to for being oily and its "numbing" spice - I like to liken it to the feeling you get when you have too much pineapple.

Today, wasn't very hungry, so I decided on the wonton in chili oil which I think is actually supposed to be a sharing dish of sorts. The wonton itself was tasty and was wrapped in plenty of wonton skin. Don't expect to be able to drink the soup however as well for one is tooped with chili oil, very spicy and leaves your tongue numbed with spice, as Chongqing cuisine is known for. The dish is a bit small and didn't leave me completely full but again, it wasn't supposed to be eaten as a main. The pork mince and chickpea noodles are very filling (lots of noodles and chickpeas!) and so are the chongqing soup noodles -just that I didn't order them this round.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that the service had greatly improved from last time, waiters were very attentive and friendly and filled up my water for me when it was empty. The only thing I don't like about this place is that it always smells of cigarettes.

One of the best noodle I had, the noodle is so chewy and the dry noodles are the best. Had it with soya milk which is very refreshing and perfect with the noodles.

Behold! The restaurant part owned by "If You Are The One" Host Meng Fei! The place was packed... probably because Meng Fei was in the house... Lambo's parked at the front and paps everywhere... To the food - if you are a fan of spicy noodles you will worship this place. The noodles work well with the sauces and soup-base but I prefer traditional handmade noodles. Must try.

Being a fan of "If You Are The One" led us to wanting to try Grandpa Meng's noodles!! The 4 of us arrived for lunch at 12:30pm and we waited about 15mins for a table and ended up sharing with another family but it wasn't too bad. Service was prompt and the waitress was helpful and patient when I asked her about the items on the menu. We ordered a spicy braised beef and pork noodle soup and a non-spicy noodle soup with shredded pork and pickled veg. The soup was VERY oily but for me personally, I did mostly enjoy it. Noodles had a great texture to them. Wish the meat was a little softer as we found it quite chewy but other than that, the dishes were pleasant.

I've been there several times now and have loved everything I've had there - just food, didn't try any drinks outside of tea and water. Very authentic noodles, great texture, great flavours. Only downside is the occasional queue times - which you can workaround by coming before/after peak hours. Addictive.

Visited Mr. Meng. Had their Famous Chongqing noodles while the wifey went with the beef brisket. I'm not an expert in Chonqing food, but thought it was tasty, not overly peppered with sichuan spice and flavoursome, but really really (authentically?) Oily.

The wifeys beef brisket was okay, probably wouldn't order it again. Don't think this restaurant deserves such a poor rating. The issue being is that its resting on the laurels of a famous celebrity in expectation that it will blow your mind.

This noodle place was opened by a famous Chinese TV show host. It was quite busy during the lunch/dinner hours. Don't expect too much about the service also they only accept cash.
The menu consisted of lots noodle dishes as well as few appetisers and special drinks, like milk tea with grass jelly etc. They came in large glass mug.
I tried several different types of noodle dishes, dried or soup based. They tasted very good! The Saltiness and spiciness balanced well, and noodle itself was cooked well and helped absorbed juice/sauce. It was a good place to go for quick lunch/dinner fix if you r into spicy noodle dishes.

Based on previous reviews, I was expecting terrible customer service, however found staff to be pleasant and friendly. It was off peak though, close to 9pm. I ordered noodles with peas and pork mince, my wife ordered braised beef noodles. Although slightly salty, I enjoyed my noodles. My wife found the top layer of her noodle soup to be very oily, plus the braised beef was tough and not tender. Overall I would want to come back to give it another go... however don't think my wife will be back.

I usually order the chicken with fresh chillies as pictured, it has been absolutely delicious and good value for money. Also , bumping into Meng Fei was a bonus ! 😀👍

I don't know what's with the bad reviews. I'm here eating and it's really good. Service is pretty good too for an asian restaurant. Air conditioning and new. I will surely come more often during winter for these absolute spicy food. Spicy food can be watered down if requested.

The noodles were tasty and yhe meat was very tender. For an Aussie that is not that good with spicy food, the food yhat shows 2 chilli strength was just right. Try the red bean buns, very tasty and shaped and look just like a shitaki mushroom.
