Review Noodle Kingdom - Melbourne

How could I not go and dine at a place called the Noodle Kingdom? I love noodles more than rice so had to come here for lunch one day. Tried the bao skins and they were delicious with a blend of lovely Asian flavours. So enjoyed the dumplings. I did watch the woman in the window making and mixing up a variety of dishes but felt self-conscious watching her. Overall though, this place is one of many in a street that is abundant in Asian restaurants. We are fortunate to have an abundance of great food and the competition is tough. I'd regard this place as a good quick meal but not a culinary treat. You can dine in or take away. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Pram and stroller accessible.

Love the noodle and rice dishes . Perfect quantity, reasonably priced and very yummy food. Clean and we'll maintained too.

The restaurant has been redecorated and is really a decent place to eat. Food is pretty good especially the signature noodle. This is the place I would recommend.

Fresh noodles is the highlight at this place. Didn't have to wait for a spot for lunch when I was there. Looks like it has been recently renovated. The lamb noodles is quite nice but contains quite a lot of MSG. Service is prompt.

We dropped in here on a cold wet day partly to feed but partly to warm up. We were promptly seated and provided with menus. It's your standard 900 item Chinese menu most items with photos. Each of us ordered. Mine came out easily ten minutes before the others. My main came out before my entree dish. My friend got their dessert before their main. The other friend who made it very clear he was allergic to mushrooms was handed a main with mushrooms. The waiter was apologetic but the manager made Kelvin think it was his fault until we all said he'd said it then she stormed off into the kitchen. He had to wait another 10 minutes to get his main by that time the rest of us had nearly finished. It looks upmarket but really it's just an eating house so if you go in there expecting that you'd be ok. My noodles were a little bland until I added the chili then they were ok. The steamed pork buns were the traditional Chinese kind not the western Chinese kind.

Best wonton noodle soup!!! We heard about this place about a year ago, today was a perfect soup day in chilly Melbourne. The flavours of that soup with a bit of chili was divine!

Went to Noodle Kingdom on a Friday Night. It was just past 9 p.m. and the place was completely empty - my friend and I were the only customers. That diss, it was nice and clean. The sign above was quite quirky - I haven’t seen it in other restaurants. The quotes they were posting, however, were rather boring. The waiter brought us water straight away and we were left alone to decide what to order. I went for the Hot & Sour Soup and the Beef Brisket Noodles. My friend, who wasn’t very hungry, just got some Dumplings in Chilli Oil. The food arrived within 15 minutes. As usual for Chinese restaurants, my soup and main were served at once (very frustrating). The Hot & Sour Soup was delicious. It was packing a lot of flavour and it had plenty of tofu and mushrooms and, most interestingly - shrimps. I’ve never had shrimps in my H&S Soup, but they were actually a really delicious addition. My noodles were a different story... By the time I got to them, they were cold. They were all stuck together in one big lump and it was impossible to separate them. Trying to eat them, they were mushy and flavourless. A very unenjoyable experience. The beef was cooked beautifully and was flavoursome. There wasn’t enough sauce. Overall, a disappointing dish. Initially, my friend was a bit surprised that his dumplings were sweet. He called the waitress and, after a short discussion, she brought him more of the chilli oil from the kitchen and he said he enjoyed his dish. He commented that it’s a great value for money. The menu was interesting and everything was very well-priced. The location couldn’t be more convenient too. Because of this, I will give Noodle Kingdom another chance (plus, I’d love to have that H&S Soup again!). We paid under $25 for everything.
