What a great homely, warm and friendly environment. The name says it all, SPITAKI. I feel like I am at my yiayia's place for dinner, you eat and eat some more with "no malakies". John the owner is a fantastic funny guy. I highly recommend this place for a light hearted dining experience.... 10/10

4.2 Good place. Casual and spacious Greek cafe. It delivered exactly what I was after. Good honest and simple Greek fare. There’s comforting old decor here. Greek music on as well. Love the old style offerings all around too. Greek soapie on the 1980s TV in the corner. Love it. On arrival there was a young tradie tucking into a huge souvlaki which looked delicious. There was also a group of retirees reliving their trip to Greece a few years ago. Other people including couples were wandering in and out as well. A steady trade. I went for a mixed grill with salad and chips. The meat was pork and chicken. Really good sized serve when it arrived. No skimping here. The meat was absolutely delicious. The pork was perfectly cooked. Beautifully flavoured with a lovely smoky taste. Gorgeous with a tiny squeeze of lemon. The chicken was superb too. The chips were crisp and golden with perfect sprinkling of salt. A superb little Greek salad to finish. Great feta. A decent slice with lovely flavour. The cucumber, tomato, capsicum, olives and onion were all as fresh as a daisy. Service is restrained and reserved. Efficient though. Good place. I will definitely be back.

Dined outdoors and received excellent service from the waitresses. Their banter, engagement, friendliness and knowledge of the menu (as well as the deliciousness of the food!!) makes me want to go back soon for more! Thanks for being heartwarming people in the community.

When 25% of the gyros and salad is like bone and rock then I suggest it should not be served. Was disappointing as normally food is much better. Lokoumades were 👍

Nice food and great service! Always a pleasant experience and good fun with John and Spitaki Souvlaki team! No malakies 😎✌️

Nice souvlaki shop. The crispy pancetta is great with some lemon juice squeezed on it. The pink terama dip is nice. Has wifi.

Another ghionis special! When you stop making money just burn the place down and get insurance to bail you out! Such a Greek thing to do! Specially when it’s twice in 10 years at two different restaurants!

I discovered this casual Greek eatery on a drive by. Late on a Thursday night is was buzzing, and I vowed I would return. Track forwards a few weeks, and I am sitting at a wooden table, with the music blaring and older Greek women complaining about the noise. I felt right at home. Souvlaki is the specialty, and the vegetarian option is filled with halloumi, salad and chips. The salad was fresh, the halloumi fried and plentiful, the bread authentic. The sauce was extra garlicky.

Terrible experience. Ordered from this restaurant online through Uber Eats, they accepted the order with an expected delivery of 8.40pm, which was a bit of a wait but it was my partners birthday and he wanted Greek so we went with it. 8.40 rolled around and we could see an assigned driver waiting there, then 8.50 went past....and another driver assigned (I guess these poor drivers are also losing income during this wait time?) and then at 9.15 the entire order gets cancelled and all we get is a phone notification. We called Spitaki and they said they were too busy. Surely they knew they were too busy back when we placed the order at 8pm? And no apology. There is no excuse for such terrible service.

I love Greek food and Spitaki did not let me down.
We ordered the mixed gyro with chips, salad, pita and dip - it was delicious. There was a generous amount of meat that was cooked beautifully. The pita was warm and soft, and the chips were delicious. The simple Greek salad was also great with a nice chunk of feta on the top.
The lady who served us was very friendly and helpful and our food arrived quickly.
Great value for money - I highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area and need your Greek fix!

I was so surprised Spitaki was rated a 3.8 on Zomato, it definitely scored a lot higher in our books. The staff were friendly and the food was “mint” in my partners eyes. We hardly spoke when our food was out other than repeatedly saying how good it was. Huge sizes, the meat was tender and the chips were delicious! We will be back! Yum yum!!!

I enjoyed the Greek atmosphere and the simple menu. Serves are quite big which is great if you want to share and try different dishes. Chicken tasted really nice although it looked a bit in the pink side, I wish it was cooked a tiny bit longer. Nice and welcoming staff.

I come here as often as I can. The souvlakia are always freshly made to order, and the meat is lean and very tender. Beautiful sides like traditional chips and Greek salad are also a delicious option to order with your meal. Service is fast and always friendly. A great family owned business!

Wow! Casual, friendly and delicious. Saganaki was perfect. Dips delicious and all the souva’s hit the spot. All meats were tried but the favourite was chicken. Lovely soft bread. Will definitely be back when the mood for a souva hits. 😁. I recommend you book as it is super busy on a Friday night. Fabulous staff as well. 👍👍

Friendly service, but not attentive (no check backs) and forgetful on order details. Food was average, chips a little cold and served in a metal basket so they got colder quicker, meat and salad were tasty. Taramasalata the most bland I've had.

Had heard a lot of positive things, so I decided to try for myself and the kids.
Food was great and pretty good value, service was a little slow but I am certainly willing to go back again.

Fantastic unique Greek food experience. Quick, fresh and to the point. Don't bother going elsewhere for the "real thing" because you'll be kidding yourself. When the chips are made from actual potatoes cut by hand and not out of a pack that tells you everything. Is this actually possible in the year 2018??

I loved this place except the last 2 times I’ve came the meat was literally cold.... not even warm straight out cold. It was super busy as Mother’s Day. I don’t get that. I hope I don’t get sick if the meats been sitting around to develop bacteria. Disappointing.

Authentic greek attitude and food. The greek equivalent of the mixed grill is an absolute winner. Staff are friendly and positive. Have done this a few times now. if youre greek and are looking for authentic greek food this is it but you wont find yia yia's loukoumades here. They were the only let down. worthy of a try and sit outside if warm. weekdays is a bit quiter but still has a good feel

Took the family to Spitaki and will definitely be going back. The name says it all. It took me back to when I was young and celebrating parties at home. I ordered two large souvlakia, pork and chicken. Nicely cooked, not too much dripping oil or when you reach the end of the souvlaki as some other places have. If you are a big eater, you need two large. The other meals we had were the chicken gyro plate which the wife completely finished and enjoyed and the kids, (both fussy eaters) had a chicken souvlaki and pork gyro. Everything was finished. Well done to the friendly team. Keep up the great work. See you again...... soon.

This place is more than just a souvlaki joint. I was lucky enough to be invited to an event recently that showcased all they had to offer. The specialise in the pork gyro souvlaki which is so authentic (just like we had in Greece!). The Halloumi souvlaki and the lamb one were my other standout favourites (YES I HAD THREE!). The pita bread was delicious too.
We also tried the chips which some people on zomato have rated poorly but they are hand cut and sprinkled with seasoning and I thought they were really tasty. They’re not all perfect and golden but that’s what you get when things are hand made.
The second biggest stand out for the night though was the loukamades! Beautiful, fresh, fluffy and coming with different toppings (including NUTELLA!!) They were superb. If you’re in Fairfield, stop in 👍🏻
Spitaki boasts a beautiful vibe and some great decor however unfortunately the souvlaki was no where near as good as we expected. Overall the meat werent the best we’ve ever had. However the halloumi souvlaki was yummy and a good veg alternative. The blue spider drink (with mastiha) was a lot of fun. We would recommend spitaki as a place to come to have a few drinks and a snack and to chill out and soak up their vibes as opposed to a place to visit specifically for their food. Their dessert doughnuts are absolutely delicious though and we highly recommend the honey and walnut ones or the Nutella wafer doughnuts.

Ordered the large chicken souvlaki.
Thought they brought me a small one by accident.
No taste. No much contents in the souvlaki. Garlic sauce tasted like plain yoghurt.
Menus on tables in English but so small hard to read. Could see the Chinese writing on the menus clearer.
Big disappointment.
Would not eat here again.
$12.50 down the drain.
Still hungry need to go elsewhere to eat.
Don't bother eating here.
I am not a competitor.
I am of Greek descent and know my Greek food.
The owner should take comments such as these as constructive and try and improve not be insulted.
Not hard either to have acquaintances put in great reviews.
Love this place. Great Staff, Good Food what else can you ask for!!
I love the decor, it feels like being being in a Greek house in the 80's cosy and and homey. Great hospitality, just a great place to be. For those that have been to Greece and loved the Greek Souvlakia, this is the closest you'll get to it here in Melbourne. A must try!!!

Fresh salad, delicious meat, 10/10 service. I loved everything about spitaki, every little detail put into it made it such an enjoyable experience. Our new spot for food and drinks

Good flavour in the souvlaki and some nice Loukoumades (we ate several plates!). I quite liked the atmosphere, they've done a great job with making it feel Greek homely but in a trendy way rather than the traditional greek restaurant. Lots of cool photos on the walls..

The service was great and cheerful with the authentic Greek waiter cracking lots of jokes and making the experience even more fun.

Would go again.

friendly staff from what I received. although first time ordering a big souvlaki i expected it to be big unless they made a mistake I got a regular sized one and paid $12.50. compared to the usual $10. the overall quality was alright, must've been an off day. i will allow this one to slide.

My husband and I have had takeaway from here a couple of times and have been happy with the speed, quality and price of the food.
Loving that Fairfield now has a charcoal souva place. The gyros have that authentic taste which is hard to beat.
The loukamades were amazing and if you have a sweet tooth like me, definitely leave room for a serve of these.
The staff who served us were really friendly and we will make sure to dine in at some point to enjoy the restaurant (new fit-out looks great and I love the photos on the wall).
Thanks Spitaki! Keep up the great work.

Love this place! All the photos, posters, and other little touches around the place remind me of my childhood. Oh and the food was delicious - had the small chicken souvlaki and the delicious hand cut chips, yum! Will be back for more, the staff are also super friendly and great.

Dissapointed that lamb souvlaki was minced lamb not gyros. Menu not easy to understand. Didn't eat in as restaurant very cold. Probably won't return.
