Lovely good quality fish n chips that is always fresh and delish! Chips are nice and crunchy, flake cooked perfect not under or over done, Yummie potato cakes that taste good and they even do a home made tartare sauce.
The food was excellent and very well cooked! The customer service was swift, smooth & just terrific. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere, the seating and the view of the kitchen just made the experience even more perfect. Not sure what type of fancy atmosphere the person previously commented was expecting? Overall 5 stars - will definitely be visiting again!!
This is a fish and chip shop, so don’t come here expecting any fancy atmosphere. But, if you are expecting great tasting food then you are in the right place! This was the best fish I’ve had in a long time! Well seasoned, with a side of Greek salad... I want that again now.
We stopped by after a walk along the beach. We ordered the chargrilled calamari and grilled fish pack which came with chips or rice and salad. They come in decent portions and are good value for money. We also got the hot dog in batter which is exactly what we got. We’ll stick to the grilled fish and calamari next time!
The fish was grilled to perfection! Loved it! Salad was fresh and flavoursome. Not the best of ambiance but if you don't care about that then give Belvga a shot.
Is this place owned by the Hunky Dory crew? I only come here when Hunky Dory is too busy or i want somewhere more quiet. I give this almost the same review as HD. I cbf rewriting it. The HD is somewhere in my profile.
Went to Port Melbourne Saturday looking to eat Fish n Chips. We came from this place, which I am glad we did. I had the grilled pack which was nice and very filling. Friendly staff and clean premises. Will return.
This is our go to fish and chip place when in
Port Melbourne. We usually order the Belvga pack which consists of fish of the day, a Sim Dim, potato cake & chips $10.50. We alsp order the grilled chip pack which has, grilled fish of the day, brown rice & yoir choice of salad $13.20. The service is great, quick, lots of tables & TVs are always on.
Belvga has very quickly become my favourite and only fish and chip shop i will go to. .. the grilled fish is unreal, the seafood is alway fresh, the chips are always crunchy and they have a great selection of salads. I cannot fault anything plus they have great service with a smile. Eat here at least twice a week and wont stop!!!
Belvga is tucked in the busy Bay Street and it was an easy choice to walk in for lunch.
Grilled fish with brown rice and choice of one salad $13.20 (great price for Port Melbourne).
