I’ve been coming to this little gem for over 20 years & it has never disappointed!! Consistently great food especially the beef & black bean and the special fried rice!! Same owners from the very beginning & Angela is the nicest lady ever!
Hidden gem in the heart of Carlton! We stumbled across this incredible restaurant a number of years ago and have been coming here ever since. The pan fried pork dumplings are hands down the best dumplings going around. Without a shadow of a doubt the best dumplings my partner and I have ever eaten.
Happy inn has been my local Chinese take away for 2 years now and not once have I been disappointed. The food is fantastic! The fried rice is my go to because it's just so good and the dumplings are delicious.

Dumplings are delicious with quality ingredients and the beef in the stirfry was tender! Prices are reasonable too, we'd definitely visit again if in the area.
For the price, this is the best takeaway Chinese I've ever had. We're regulars and our pre-school kids love it too. I always ask for no MSG.
Great place for lovely takeaway food. The ginger and chilli prawns with veges had a bit of kick which I loved and wasn't oily. The Mongolian beef was also very tasty! Reasonably priced too, will be going back.
Whether it's the steamed pork dumplings in chilli oil or pan fried dumplings, their dumplings are very underrated. Great consistency and ratio between the dough and actual meat.
The quality in their Lemon chicken and Honey prawns are as expected and is definitely a crowd favourite. Located in hipster central we have a great Chinese eatery, 28 years strong in fact.
Happy Inn is our favourite local restaurant! The new fitout looks great and the new menu is awesome (the veggie dumplings are a winner). Everything is well priced and generous and the service is lovely. I would also recommend the lemongrass and chilli bean curd and the vegetarian fried rice. All in all, an excellent place to dine in or takeout!
Hi All, we have made some changes to our menu and renovated the dining area...still the same Happy Inn, with good honest home cooking - Chinese Style.

Happy inn has FRESH FOOD. This is a great Chinese takeaway place. Very friendly woman at the counter, appreciates your business. You can taste that the vegetables are fresh which I think makes all the difference. I would give full marks but it's just not that nicer venue to eat in. But takeaway I have no complaints.
My boyfriend and I went to Happy Inn late on a Saturday evening, we needed to eat and stumbled across this place in our neighborhood. It was a delicious satisfying meal for a great price! We had wontons in chili oil, pork fried dumplings, Tom yum soup & Chinese broccoli in garlic sauce. You can tell the dumplings and wontons are home made, great flavor and texture. We especially enjoyed that the family who run the place were pottering around, enjoying each other’s company. It made for a lovely atmosphere. We look forward to it being our new fave local Chinese.
No frills, family run Chinese takeaway. Food quality is very good. Ordered the special fried rice, and curry beef. Delicious and cooked in a timely manner for pickup. 8 out of 10.
Reliable Chinese takeaway. The honey pepper chicken is my fav on the menu Tried their pork pan fried hand made dumplings for the first time and they're prettt good. Better than some specialised dumpling places.
Went in to have dinner after the recent renovations hoping it had remained as good as it was before, and I was delighted to discover it is even better! Lovely staff, well priced, fresh and delicious food. I recommend the vegetarian dumplings.
Such delish food! Amazing homemade dumplings and such yummy main dishes. Service is always warm and quick. Absolutely love this place!
