3.5/5
My partner and I had dinner here. The service was good and efficient.
The food was overall really nice but the sashimi was chewy and not the best I’ve had.
But the prices were very reasonable and for Takayuki, Katsu don, chicken karaage don were very well priced too.
I’d happily go back for the prices alone and given that this place was packed, so would others lol
It’s definitely a worthwhile option.
Ordered pork katsu curry don and chicken katsu curry don . Yummy and quick lunch .
They had a lunch special menu which is only $8.80 each for the curry don which is quite reasonable . The portion was quite huge too.
Love it . It was yummy too 😋
In short, I gave this score because of the value for money (groupon voucher). I ordered dishes I enjoyed eating but I can't say everything on the menu is good. I also had friendly service from staff.
We tried the all you can eat groupon deal for 4 people (approx $25 pp including a drink) on Tuesday night. The staff were quite friendly but it was a very busy restaurant so I would highly recommend booking. When we arrived at 6pm it wasn't full but by the time it was 7:30pm it was packed! After you are seated you do need to wave over staff and they basically carry around phone devices and you tell them everything you want to order (you can order whatever you want on the all you can eat menu with multiple quantities) and you can continue to order throughout the night. The cold dishes came by really fast and hot food took longer. I would recommend when you arrive to order all the hot food you're interested in first and then the cold food. As it was quite busy some of our dishes we ordered did get forgotten but you can usually tell if they forgot if it doesn't come within about 10 minutes... I would just ask a staff member about it again and they'll come back pretty quickly! Upon first glance I didn't think they had enough staff but they have a pretty good system. It was great there was no limit to much you could order at one time and food literally kept coming to our table and empty dishes were taken away by staff who would walk past.
In terms of food, you can only get a small side dish of sashimi once for the whole night, but you can continue to order sushi dishes. There is a surcharge for every 200g you waste though! Food was tasty and there is a huge variety! My favourite dishes were the eggplant, seaweed salad, squid salad, tempura, gyoza and sashimi. Icecream was average. The karage was disappointing because it was very overcooked and the fried squid was actually more of a boiled consistency (quite strange). Miso soup was very salty and fried rice was your typical cheapo rice dish. It was yummy experience and worth the money with the groupon voucher! I say once you figure out what you like just keep ordering that and enjoy the meal.
This is a buffet, i went with two others for a lunch buffet
Service 5
Very polite staff, they give you the time you can eat to which is about 2 hours, but that was plenty. There is about a 5 minute wait per order, which is good.
Environment 5
Tables are well spaced out, was clean and tidy.
Flavour 4
The servings are generally raw fish or small services of japanese food, the marinated meat was good, but not something i would pay for unless its buffet.
Value for money 4
It is about right for the quality of food, i cant say it was not worth it
I will be returning sometime soon.
Really good place! Even though it’s not self serve, the speed of giving you what you’ve ordered is really fast! Went with friends everyone said it was worth it
the food is awesome, good environment.. you can eat as many as you want. the waitresses here are good and friendly as well. will recommend friend come here too
Love the food absolutely! It’s located in the heart of city, very easy to access. You can have all you want with only $29.8 but it doesn’t means it food is plain. Actually the teriyaki beef and sushi are really good.
good food nice stuff, reasonable price. And a free coke. It is one of my greatest experience thatihad in Melbourne. And I will definitely come again.
Very good taste, very good price,At such a low price, there are raw beef and sashimi. Tempura and beef are also very delicious. Very good, recommend it to everyone.
Organised our work dinner/team outing at Tokyo Japanese Restaurant. With such a large group, the staff and venue were very accommodating and helpful! Staff were tentative and service was quick. Selecting the all you can eat buffet for 16 people, with the service we got; cudos to the restaurant, couldn’t be happier. The team had a great night!
went during the grand opening period (24th of april-2021) on a whim looking to be adventurous with my group of friends, we were greeted by a old staircase, leading to an empty dining room greeted by a very friendly manager, waiting and managing while the chef did his thing. we were seated at a very long table and the atmosphere was amazing, no music, just our voices in the beautiful acoustics of the near silent room. anyways food was really good for the price and servings are almost american.
Went during the down time. Most of the food we tried were great, though I would stay away from the tofu. Serving size are good for buffet, service and atmosphere are a plus.
A busy place at lunch time. Its good for family gathering and kids. Fantastic value for Chicken/ Beef Teriyaki and amazing tempura. Good value for groupon price. Will definitely back again.

All you can eat $30 each people min 2 people, i think is good value and you can eat all menu many times as you can eat as well, LOL
Wonderful food, plenty to choose from the all you can eat as well as sake or wine, quick efficient service. Seating is mildly cramped and room a little too warm. No access for disabled as just stairs. Toilets weren't perfect but usable. Try the plum wine, it's worth it.
