Honestly the worst mexican I’ve ever had. The “vegetarian” taco consisted of only sour cream and a bit of salsa. Guacamole very sweet as if it had sugar in it. And possibly curry powder in the chicken burrito? All in all a very strange and unpleasant meal. Avoid.

Avoid this store. They are dishonest. We presented a valid completed loyalty card good for a free burrito (the previous purchases were all made at this same store). They flatly refused to honour it.Never going there again.Very dishonest bait and switch conduct.

Randomly changed their hours and also double charged me for a single burrito once and refused to give refund. Real dissapointment as i used to love going there.

not only was this $14.40 it was so tiny i was still left hungry and went across the road to get a pizza slice. the portion was so tiny, when she used the scooper i thought it was going to be 3 scoops but noooope. ugh, really regretting not going to dumplings or something to get a whole meal for the same price. bye..

I bought a breaky Rolle (bacon and egg, eggs fried), Paid 11.00. Honestly felt it was a bit too much for a breaky Rolle.
Have to say the service was too quality and the coffee looked great, I'll be going in for their coffee some time soon, so may be I can comment on that when I do.
Staff was very helpful and the place looked super new and clean.

They charge you an extra $2 to smear barely 1/4 of a tea spoon of avocado on your burrito. Over it, be reasonable.

We enjoyed a takeaway chicken burrito and burrito bowl with guac (because we weren’t allowed to eat inside!) which was pretty yummy (somehow I ended up with white rice instead of the black I’d requested but all good). Hubs complained the meat portion was minute so we may need to opt for the double meat option next time

Very poor service . The two girls working tonight were incredibly bad - slow despite it being very quiet (only two customers) and rude . Also the cheese on the nachos isn’t melted ?! Could have made something nicer at home . Will never go back and would not recommend .

I love the concept and I’ve been to the one in Brunswick, and when I saw this in South Melbourne I couldn’t wait to try it. However, I did not have a good experience at all. Staff was rude, did not care about the food and mushed it in together... was very disappointed.

Appalling service and food. Usually Zambreros make great burritos but this particular outlet is the worst. The old lady manager instructs her family to water down the sauces and reduce the portion size of all the toppings and meats. The Burritos end up tasting like muck. On top of that the service is beyond appalling. The old lady just shouts at her family manning the counter at the top of her lungs. No smiles or thanks from anyone. Do yourself a favour and visit the Zams in neighbouring suburbs if your craving zambreros.

Not only the worst Zambrero outlet I've ever been to, but also probably the worst fast food outlet I've ever stepped in to in my life! The manager was beyond rude. The otherwise usually great (from other Zambrero outlets!) Burritos were watered down to unrecognisable muck that I wouldn't even feed my dog. When enquired as to why the Burritos were so sub standard when compared to other Zambreros and why they had so little filling in to it, the manager shouted at me that she owned the place and she could do what she wanted with her Burritos. Unbelievable that Zambrero would allow this place to continue operating!

The people who run this place have no idea about customer service. They only had two people front of house when it was a super busy Saturday lunchtime, so you have to wait for ages. I am allergic to dairy and requested guacamole instead of sour cream and cheese on my burrito - they want to charge me for a substitution that would be equal in value. Seriously? Soooooo average, don't even bother.

Basically had a rice and salad wrap. Served sloppy runny refried beans in which i got one bean! Other Zambreros give me cauliflower in the exact same order and thick refried beans. When questioned about why the beans were so runny i was basically told that was how they are. No they arent supposed to look like diarrhoea. Gross. Won't be back.

I use UberEATS to grab food from Zambrero frequently. They are easily the quickest of any restaurant I order from, sometimes as quick as 15 minutes! <br/>I usually get the burritos and tacos as there’s vegetarian and vegan options and they’re nicely<br/>customisable. The ingredients always taste fresh and great. I highly recommend.

Love zambrero, however when you consistently find long sharp bones in your chicken burrito I don't think that it's safe to eat at this one. Not the first bone I've found in my food from this shop before. Never again.

Quite disappointed with the meal as a whole and won't be going back anytime soon. Out of the 3 meals we had, all we're lacking in taste. The Taco and bowl were severly low on flavour and the burrito was like 70% rice! I like rice, but when it dominates over every other flavour it is just not nice. <br/>It wasn't all negative though, with the price and size of the meals being great, however it wasnt enough to detract from the bland overall taste.

Really tastey food with gluten free and dairy free options. Staff are lovely and efficient. A little bit more expensive but totally worth it. Overall a great spot to pick up some delicious food.

I know it's a fairly down market tex-mex style establishment, but I love their burritos. Their ingredients are fresh, the staff are always friendly here, and the servings are very filling. One of the better fast-food style Mexican eateries around.

A good chain of restaurants serving Mexican. The food is healthy, fresh, good quality and of generous quantity. Over all they offer a value for money healthy meal. The amount of protein is also good, which unfortunately fast food chains tend to cut down on. <br/><br/>They provide various options which suits most tastes. I will return.

Just finished my burrito and I don't understand all this negativity. $11.90 with heaps of extras such as sour cream, corn chips and cheese (which most other places charge for). It tasted as a mexican fast food joint would taste, nothing fancy but it was fresh, filling and all I needed for a quick lunch. Thank you for your friendly service and food.

Delicious burritos! Love the salads, only suggestion is less rice and more salad to be included in the burrito. And more cheese (who doesn't love a cheesy burrito!) I love the new sauce treziago - definitely worth a try.

Not necessarily the cheapest Mexican food around, but every time I've been, my tummy has been filled with tastiness and the food doesn't leave a greasy impression. Staff are always friendly and they always seem to be playing good music in store.

They have good burritos but the range/variety is limited. I do visit this place sometimes for lunch and it's not as busy as other places on Chapel Street. It's good for a quick bite and the food can be quite filling too. I'd recommend this place if you prefer to grab something quick.

From a dining perspective I thought it was great. A fantastic meal with beautiful fresh ingredients, and a nice part of Melbourne to sit out front and watch the traffic trickle by. I am sure at night the rev heads come out and play havoc in the streets like we used to 10 years ago. Playing their loud techno music and revving their petrol guzzler engines for the restaurant patrons to be annoyed by, but on a Saturday afternoon everyone just seems to get out there and enjoy the shopping and atmosphere. A great way to enjoy a burrito. <br/>If we were going to compare this establishment to a more popular location and obvious adversary in Salsa's, I would say Zambrero wins hands dow

Zambrero is launching the powerbowl this Friday 12/12/2015, a deconstructed burrito powered by Black Rice and Amaranth. The bowl is so very appetising and colourful. This was the pork version and the main protein was succulent and served spiced with a light chilli kick. The black rice in the corner might look unappetising for some, it is actually dark purple when cooked. However it is totally another experience from eating white or brown rice, its unique fragrance with a nutty and earthy taste...

Shut down this place. Mexican???? Whatt???? Honestly the worst meal I've ever had and overpriced. Got 4 tacos and some chips, everthing was plain, flat, bland not even a simple dressing on the corn and tomato salsa. The concept behind this place is just bad , there are much more better places on chapel st don't waste money on this one.

Subway for texmex. I've never had a bad experience with Zambrero. The pulled meat is always delicious, salads fresh and the staff are generous with sauce. Really reasonably priced and definitely a favourite!

Misleading information. I think it is misleading of Zambrero to call itself "fresh" when most of the meat and salad bar is in fact bagged or canned...also the meat is microwaved...the only actual fresh made-on-premise stuff is the avocado, onion and tomato. The food tastes canned and a little stale, and some of the staff are foreign backpackers who struggle with English....this can make it quite hard to order at the best of times. I will not be going back to this smelly, foul-tasting, shudder-inducing fast food place....I also do not like being lied to as the food is NOT FRESH. If you want fresh, go to a decent restaurant or cook at home.

I have been to this place a few times purely out if convenience. You would swear there's a war on they are the stingiest staff I've ever seen it is a joke. After the third time I said never again. Salsas give you twice the amount for cheaper

Addicted to Zambrero chikkitos. Why would you make a chikkito at home when someone else can make it for you with minimal time and fuss?<br/><br/>I'm somewhat addicted to Zambrero chikkitos, I was introduced to them in Adelaide when I worked on Rundle St last year. Tasty, fairly healthy and fresh fast food in no time at all, for under $10 and served with a smile. If I was working close by, I'd no doubt at least have Zambrero's for lunch at least once a week, perhaps twice.

Such a sad mushy burrito. Rice globby, beans mushy, and chicken soggy. On the whole an underwhelming and over priced burritto that I binned after four bites. I'll make the effort to walk the extra bloc and a half to get to mad mex next time.
