Have ordered takeaway from here many times and today I decided to eat in. I was really craving the beef offal soup noodles and they’ve got the best in Melbourne. The broth is rich and delightful and warms you up on a cold day. The prices here are a bit on the higher end, but the portion sizes are also fairly reasonable. Their HK style BBQ pork is also delicious! Service is friendly and they will constantly refill the water in your glass.

You can tell the chefs and owner know what they're doing. Brisket is tender and tasty broth is perfect and the texture noodles is just right! People are willing to pay for good food nowadays and it's capturing the right market.

Situated a bit out of the way in the Rose Lane food precinct, the planning and effort to get here was a bit more than our usual office lunch places. But I can say that the trip out was worth it. Their menu largely revolves around BBQ meats with either rice or noodles. There is also a tempting big pot of offal visible in the kitchen which is a common sight in Hong Kong. Don't recall seeing anything like this in Melbourne or even in Sydney! As such for my first visit, the offal was a must try for me. Paired with silky kway teow / wide flat rice noodles it was satisfying in both taste and presentation. The various types of offal such as lung, stomach and tendon was neatly laid out on top of the noodles. The chilli oil was self service at a nearby counter.
My colleagues ordered the roast duck and the roast pork and all were happy with what they ordered. The duck was fresh in taste and texture and the skin of the roast pork was crunchy.
One downside of this restaurant would be the vegetarian options. I felt sorry for our vegetarian colleague when only a single menu item could be offered that was vegetarian. It was basically vegetables on rice. I think it would be nice to put one or two vegetarian friendly items on the menu so they are not left out in big groups. Steak restaurants still have vegetarian options right?
I found the HK milk tea to be a bit of a let down. It wasn't as strong and as smooth as the ones I have had in HK and the price is not cheap either. I'd rather have boba outside after the meal next time.
The price is higher than other places, but you get quality. We will definitely be back! The only problem will be deciding whether to have offal again or the roast meats! droooool....

This is my favourite Hong Kong restaurant in Melbourne. The food is authentic (speaking as someone who grew up in Hong Kong) and, unlike 99% other HK restaurants, this place is actually clean and the staff is actually polite to their customers. Have returned on 3 occasions and will go back again.
Recommend HK style milk tea and soy beef brisket

The food here is wonderful!
Taste, service all very good.
The only downside is the price. It is probably not the cheapest in the CBD. But the quality is one of the best!

Definitely coming back for more.

I recently have been there three times. The best restaurant I have tried in that area.
Firstly, I have to say every single staff works hard with friendly smile. They even can take care my potential action not until I talk to them.
Then, the food is excellent, not too salty or feel too much oil like other places. Everything is perfect there.
I have also order the mango juice with cream in the top which I forget to took photo because I was too hungry to start. Worth to try.

It's difficult to find a good Hong Kong style cafe these days and this is a good one. Good BBQ meats and noodle soup. Their set meals are great value. I would recommend their BBQ roast duck; the beef brisket or beef offal hotpot, and the homemade wonton.

a hidden gem on this side of the city: extremely authentic Hong Kong classic home food dishes. even their takeaway did not disappoint. there was a decent number of guests dining in on a Tues night- plenty of seats (no out door seating). prices were fair given the quality of food was high- eg the dumplings/ seafood balls tasted home made (not factory mass produced), the wantan noodles texture was QQ (appropriately chewy-bouncy), hofan noodles were silky smooth. soup was umami savoury and sweet without any excessive saltiness. the egg waffles were fresh, fluffy on the inside and delicately crispy on the outside (without being hard). i’ll be back to try other dishes. casual ambiance. efficient and professional service. it could possibly rival, if not beat, any other casual style HK cafe eatery in Melbourne!

So far it’s one of the top list HK-style cafe 茶餐廳 I have visited. I ordered fish ball 手打魚蛋noodle soup、wonton 云吞in soup、prawn dumplings 水餃in soup and BBQ pork take away. Very much appreciated fish ball 手打魚蛋that not so many places to offer. Prawn dumplings taste good but cooked too much. Wontons missed a flavour of 大地魚 which is the soul of wontons. Without it similar taste to prawn dumplings. And I don’t know if it was my mistake or something wrong with ordering website I order wonton and prawn dumplings each 3 pcs before I would order frozen one to take away. But it turned out 2 prawn dumplings. I talked to a few waiters and at the end the restaurant agreed to change the prawn dumplings to wonton for me 😊 I appreciated their services to customers. Will visit again when I miss HK-style food next time and try other dishes offered in the restaurant.

✨HIDDEN HK FOOD CAFE✨ 📍 @foodfactory_atuws Heard really great things about this place and finally had a chance to try it! 😍 We ordered their Braised pork with pickled vegie 🍚 Hainanese 🐔 noodle And was blown away by the quality of the food here! The braised pork was succulent and tender The sauce was full of flavour I could just eat that with rice alone Oh! And the hainanese chicken was so soft and was a such perfect match with the slightly soy sauced noodles Overall a very great place to eat and would ✅ highly recommend it (esp for a late night meal) 👌🏻 Follow me on IG @eatwithmishy for more food reviews and adventures 😉

Food factory is one of the best HK/Cantonese style restaurants in Melbourne CBD. The food is delicious and authentic, portions sizes are good and quite good value for money. The restaurant is set out in a traditional HK cafeteria style. The beef brisket hotpot was hearty, tasty and the meat was really tender. Get in early for the popular roasts!
